After getting the Series S, there are some 360 games I wanted to pick up and most of them are on sale. RDR1 is one of the few which is both one X enhanced and completely trapped on console. The Series S may have limited storage but as a compact backwards compatibility machine, I'm very fond of it.

After the first game, no, but now? I think they could pass the torch for Uncharted. A different situation. I also didn't think they overly focused on Joel when advertising 2. It definitely looked like Ellie would be the main character. Speculation for a while was that she'd be looking for him for most of the game.

Game of Thrones is a kind of odd choice for this discussion to me. There isn't really a main character there, but if there was I'd say Jon or Daenerys, even if papa Stark gets a lot of screen time early on.

GOT definitely has no main character, if anyone tries chewing thru the books they find that out fast, fast af. I couldn't even keep up

Bought Sonic Unleashed after redeeming $5 of rewards credit. Played it for 15 minutes last night and the performance was quite impressive.

The fact that the Cowboys have NEVER beat Tom Brady (7-0 prior to yesterday) AND they laid a massive TURD the week before AAAAAND it's been 30 years since the Cowboys won a post-season game away from home were the three things bouncing around in my head yesterday.  I hadn't been following the Bucs' season, but I guess their 8-9 record spoke for itself last night.  Speaking of which, how sad is it that a team with a losing record made it to week 18?

 

There are a few 360 / OG games I'm thinking about picking up this week, good stuff.

At least 360 games aren't massive like they became the following generation. I actually miss not getting 360 games from Gold because we could keep them. Some still look and play well, and because Microsoft really kept the effort going with backwards compatibility, and even enhancing games, there is something amazing about not losing prior consoles or content.

Also, keeping progress in the cloud, even with Xbox Originals, is great to make older games neat to come back to. No dusting off a memory card, finding space for a random console, blah, blah, blah.

Having a digital library that has carried forward and kept progression really has prevented me from going to another system. The S doing all this in a compact size is what sold me on it over the X (and the price).

The Stadia bluetooth controller update is out and you have only until this year to do it so might as well get to it now.

It runs at 4K (or close to 4K) 60 FPS on Series X too! The only shame is that it's not the Special Edition like the PC version which includes an extra character and new styles and some other improvements.

It goes on sale like once or twice a year. Lowest price was $5 though. If you intend on playing it soon, then sure. Otherwise I personally would wait.

Exactly, even my good friend who is a die hard cowboys fan thought it would go the other way Dak throwing picks all game. SF game will be tough, defense is awesome.

I bought it for $4.99 in Nov 2017. As Kromis stated, if you're going to play it now sure, if not then definitely wait. You'll spend at least $10 buying it on ebay but then you can try selling it when you're done so in the end it may balance to what you'd for it digitally.

I mean........ it will probably never drop below $4.99, but it COULD eventually not be available as digital marketplaces age. $5 is pretty much my impulse buy price for things like this, I probably bought it in 2017 and still haven't touched it. No regrets!

I had to set my network to broadcast the SSID for it to connect but after it connected I was able to turn off broadcast and it worked fine.

"I have been trying to work out why some people are able to randomly connect to hidden Wi-Fi networks, while others just aren't able to, no matter what.

What I have found is:

Series S/X cannot connect to hidden networks on a Wi-Fi 6 APs. It can connect on a Wi-Fi 5 AP with a bit of help. So, suspect driver issue on the Xbox.

Connecting to hidden SSID isn't straightforward:

Following onscreen prompts on its own does not work. In the Set up wireless network, you have to Add wireless network. However, this will not prompt for credentials (just bad coding - it assumes hidden = open auth). But, go ahead and enter the SSID anyway. After it tries to connect for a bit, press the Xbox button. This will make the menu jump back to General (pressing B doesn't work to go back). Go back into  Set up wireless network, Now, in the list you should see your hidden SSID. Just select and enter your credentials.

(Getting the SSID to show up may not work on the first try. So try longer or shorter durations till it does - Only on Wi-Fi 5 APs)

Just wanted to share my first purchase of 2023. It’s been a very long time since I’ve made a purchase, no joke. Ever since we got gamepass, I find myself reaching for those titles versus purchased titles unless they are impossible to put down. I purchased an Xbox 360 classic. Behemoth’s Alien Hominid HD ($3.99 Canadian) and all DLC which is 75% off. I managed to finish the first level oh boy its a challenge before you the know “tricks” to progress past the mini bosses.

Another tip to mention that I have added my favourite titles to my Microsoft Wishlist. I got an email today regarding Alien Hominid HD being on sale. For example, looking for a deal on Cuphead and Shovel Knight:Treasure Trove.
