Ok, here's the 461 games currently on Game Pass, including the date when their price is listed to change.  A number of them had a time stamp 1 second before midnight UTC on a Tuesday.  Aside from some in 2799, they were all on the next 2 Mondays, so I'm guessing they are upcoming sales.

The following 35 have time stamps for next Monday.

Spoiler

The following 32 have times for the following Monday.

Spoiler

The following 251 have end dates into 2027.  58 appear to be ending next Tuesday morning.  A bunch are on sale, but I haven't cross checked everything.

Spoiler

The following 14 had errors when I attempted to retrieve the page.  Didn't check if there's something with the page or maybe just Internet randomness.

Spoiler

The following 129 have dates 2098 and beyond.

We truly live in amazing times, pre-emptive disappointment. Also it's not pessimism if you KNOW it's going to be bad, it's wisdom.

I'm trying to figure a way to do a giveaway related to the AEW PPV sunday, Bryan Danielson vs MJF in a 60 minute ironman match(they compete for a full hour, whoever has the most points after time is up wins). Preliminary idea is people get numbers and the minute that the match-deciding fall happens is the winner but I'm looking for feedback.

What's this lazy Wo Long PC version with Playstation icons everywhere? Touchpad is bound...

Majority of the time, especially their controllers.

I thought the Hogwarts controller was a Disney controller because I only saw an image of it first and no other information.  Xbox is miles better with special controllers.  Switch did good with the Zelda and Splatoon 3 joy-cons, but they have plenty of poor designs too.

Are there any real conclusions or speculative thoughts from that list, or is it just interesting data?

Not sure if it's always 100 percent accurate but on XBLdeals. net. They show when a game is sale is ending. Even game pass games. For example GotG it says the "sale" ends the day it is leaving GP. Seeing how many times Xbox just gives a a 2 week notice I figure the site is a better way to see when games are leaving ahead of time. Just something I noticed not sure if fool proof.

If you need a base copy of Outer Worlds to upgrade, Best Buy has it on clearance for 12.99. $10 more to upgrade.

Game Pass.  You might be thinking of Outer Wilds from Mixer.

The Game pass version does not upgrade.  You need to own the base game and both DLCs then pay $10 to upgrade.

Most people I'd think completed it on game pass and bought the DLC, so they need the base game and upgrade.  It's $60 for the base game digitally then $10 for the upgrade, or $60 for the full next gen version.

I like $13 on Best Buy +$10 upgrade.

Sad news is the new version is just 1k gamerscore with all DLC built in.

I'm interested in finally trying out a Souls like game, and am looking for some feedback on a good entry point (something on the easy/forgiving side).  I have the Souls Trilogy, Mortal Shell, Wo Long, Sekiro, and Elden Ring to choose from (unless there's something on GP I'm missing).  Any recommendations on where to start?

Lords of the Fallen wasn't too hard from what I remember.  It takes 3 runs to complete it, but you end up killing bosses in 2 hits by the third run.  I tried an achievement for saving skill points when I started the game and the first few bosses were really hard.

The only other I've played it Elden Ring.  It has a lot of grinding spots to level up and OP builds to work towards.  It's tough, but has a lot of options for getting better then going back.  I was super strong when I went after the first story boss and it was a joke after seeing all the fuss about it being hard.

Man, I still haven’t gotten past that first boss in Wo Long. What’s frustrating is a grinded up to a morale of 21, which makes a huge difference. Easily got past the first phase. Accidentally pressed a wrong button on the second phase and got killed - not realizing that it sets you back to the morale of the boss, which is 10!

Love the combat and understand it gets easier after the first boss. But it is damn frustrating.

I was struggling with the second phase of the first boss for a while...until I saw a tip to hold block button while getting ready to deflect his red attacks. For me, it definitely helped get the deflection mechanic down and got it first try! I think if you counter 2 of his red critical attacks during the second phase, it's enough to finish the fight.

I Mean, Jedi Fallen Order is technically a Souls type and it's on Game Pass. Default difficulty isn't too bad, also it has difficulties compared to those other games, but easy is very easy.

Elden Ring was my first true "Souls" game after having played Fallen Order. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My dad couldn't get into it because he found it too punishing and didn't like the controls (shoulder and trigger attacks instead of face buttons, but that can be changed).

I would recommend checking out Jedi Fallen Order. It's got Souls like mechanics and is actually a pretty fun game.

I haven't played Elden Ring yet but Bloodborne was my favorite game of last generation. Souls like games are mostly about learning the enemy patterns. It doesn't have a difficulty setting in the traditional sense but you can make the game as easy as you want by grinding and overleveling.

Honorable mentions:

Mortal Shell

Code Vein

Nioh

Ashen

Darksiders 3

Hollow Knight

Death's Door

Tunic

Calling Death's Door a Souls type is a pretty huge stretch. Not really difficult and you don't really have any consequences for dying minus possibly a slightly long walk to get back to where you originally were.

Are there any real conclusions or speculative thoughts from that list, or is it just interesting data?

There are a bunch of odd dates through the end of April, but from May 1 through 2027 everything is the 1st or 16th.  That makes them feel like leaving dates to me.  Will have to see what happens with the non-1st / 16th dates in March and April to get a feel for what those might mean.

For the April 1st games, here's when they were added to Game Pass.  The added dates are mostly taken from TA's GP list, though in a couple cases for day one GP games the added date doesn't match the release date.

  • A Memoir Blue - March 24, 2022 (day 1)
  • Chinatown Detective Agency - April 7, 2022 (day 1)
  • Clustertruck - Dec 13, 2018
  • Double Dragon Neon - Dec 16, 2019
  • Kraken Academy!! - March 22, 2022 (day 1)
  • MLB The Show 22 Xbox One - Apr 13, 2022 (day 1, though release was Apr 5)
  • MLB The Show 22 Xbox Series X | S - Apr 13, 2022 (day 1, though release was Apr 5)
  • Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid - March 26, 2020
  • The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos Chicken Edition - March 17, 2022
  • Totally Reliable Delivery Service - April 1, 2020 (day 1)
  • Weird West - March 31, 2022 (day 1)

Of the 11 games, 7 of them are leaving after roughly 1 year and another 2 are roughly 2 years.  The odd ones out are Clustertruck and Double Dragon Neon, though both have been on GP for over 3 years.

I haven't pulled IDs for all games yet to get an idea of what all the sales might be on Monday night.  The games can no longer be pulled directly from the source of the web store list, but I can get them manually by viewing the page and copying elements from Chrome's DevTools pane.

Agreed which is why I put it in honorable mentions. OP even said he was not looking for a "punishing" game. I feel the combat will be plenty hard for a newbie. It's got Souls like mechanics, you collect "souls" to level up your character, it has huge set piece bosses and metroidvania style maps. Bottom line is Death's Door is a great game and should be played before it leaves Gamepass lol.

You have to learn to play it correctly if going for the umbrella only run achievement.  That makes it pretty close.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.  I'm thinking either Lords of the Fallen or Death's Door sound like good options for me.  I have played Fallen Order and I guess didn't realize that was the same type of game

I wouldn't consider Death's Door a souls like game but it is a fantastic game.

As someone who has finished almost all the from software souls games except for Sekiro (I got pissed at that one and took a break and never came back to it, one day I will play it again). I think the easiest one honestly is Elden Ring. Although none of them are really that easy. I finished all the other ones co-op but I played almost the entire campaign of Elden Ring by myself and only got stuck a few times. There are some good quality of life benefits in the open world like refilling your flask when you clear mobs. It has become one of my favorite games of all time along with Bloodborne and Half-Life 2.

I'm really looking forward to Wo Long Dynasty on Gamepass. I also have the Nioh collection in my PS5 backlog and I've been meaning to play them. I decided instead to do another play through of Jedi Fallen Order on PS5 since it was free with PS Plus and wanted to see how the PS5 version looked. I originally finished it on Xbox One. I now have Jedi Survivor on preorder for PS5.

A friend of mine got me hooked on Souls games with Bloodborne after he helped me understand the mechanics and beat the Blood Starved Beast. Since I was stuck there and couldn't get past him I was going to give up on playing these types of games.  With a few pointers and tips he explained how the games works, how to level up, building a character and how to grind for materials and levels. It really helped me understand the genre and I've been hooked ever since then.

Damn, if they were going to make a completely new SKU with a new achievement list, it would've been nice if they made it Play Anywhere. I'm still a bit iffy about buying PC games from the Microsoft Store.  :-&

Saw that Guardians was leaving GP, fired it up last night.....yeah, great so far after finishing the first chapter. The audio cut out at the end of sentences sometimes. Odd glitches. More than 5 times, since I began noticing it. I downloaded Paradise Killer so I'll give that one a go. At least try it out

Thanks for that list Bloomy. Gonna havta play that Memoir Blue game. Seems it'll take around an hour vs GotG which is 20ish hrs. Oooof. Gotta grind that one of my free nights next week since this'll be a busy month for me

Just a heads up for those of us that also have PlayStation plus premium. Guardians of the Galaxy is also on that subscription so in case you aren't able to finish it with game pass, you can play it on PlayStation instead.
