Looks like things are going to get spicier. I wonder if this is Microsoft laying some ground work for Japanese acquisitions.
An elected official who's biggest donor is Microsoft is kicking up a fuss for Microsoft? Say it ain't so.

Microsoft is not the donor, it's the employees. They have over 50,000 employees in the company donating to various charities and donating to this particular official has dated back over the last 10 years. This is not recent, nor did she say anything that isn't true. Sony very much has a monopoly in Japan.
That being said, lobbying is nothing new. Sony has been lobbying various officials to get the Microsoft / ABK merger from happening despite both companies having a mutual agreement. At this point, Sony just acting like that crazy ex-girlfriend desperate for sloppy seconds. Time to let go.

RE 4 Remake is fantastic. Also don’t get the complaints about the Xbox controls and dead zones. I haven’t had any issues.

I did play the demo and didn’t think it was an issue then either. Don’t think there’s a difference with the demo and full game.Have you played the demo? Does it feel the same as the demo?
I definitely felt the issues in the demo. Played the ps5 and Xbox versions side by side and it was very noticeable.

Consider yourself lucky that you don't notice large stick dead zones. Sometimes I'm jealous of those that can't see the difference between 30 and 60 FPS or feel bad frame pacing in games like Bloodborne.
I decided to try RE4 (original) on Xbox again and I'm adapting to the absolutely massive dead zones they used for it (the sticks are basically D-pads), so RE4 Remake should feel great in comparison. I'm not buying RE4 Remake until it's $20 so hopefully they fix the controls on the Xbox version or the visuals on the PS5 version by then!

For what it's worth you can adjust the deadzones for those with an elite controller, people with regular controllers will need to wait for a patch.

You can't adjust the dead zones that are coded into the game (like you can in Exoprimal, for example), but you can set the Elite sticks to instant to get you out of the dead zones with less movement. Sounds like it works pretty well for RE4.
Playing the Diablo 4 beta. I’m actually getting excited for it after today’s ATVI news.

not sure why it seem far fetched? it why sony is really not waiting gamepass. if D4 is their on GP they will either have to pay to match it as ps plus option or risk losing more players long term as you can play a lot games for less then $70 and buy it later on sale, while still saving money. it a win win for MS, they knew what they were doing when they said yes, to spending billions.
Blizzard has already stated there's no plans for Diablo IV on Game Pass. However, that's also shop for 'let's not butcher sales' just months before launch. If I had to guess, once the deal is done it will take several months for it to come to Game Pass just to supplant sales into subs. My gut feeling is we get Starfield in Sept, Diablo in Oct, and CoD in Nov for a 1-2-3 knockout punch this holiday season.
That's really what keeps Sony up at night.

CMA has folded - They are longer concerned about Sony.
"Having considered the additional evidence provided, we have now provisionally concluded that the merger will not result in a substantial lessening of competition in console gaming services because the cost to Microsoft of withholding Call of Duty from PlayStation would outweigh any gains from taking such action."
https://www.gov.uk/g...tivision-review
It's a wrap - No way the deal gets blocked for cloud gaming.
Even better, now the gloves are coming off against Sony for their "exclusionary conduct" and under the table dealings to pressure publishers. I'm loving how their greed is finally blowing up in their face and they could start facing some serious inquiries in the future.
How feel, Jim Ryan?

What's the rough amount of time to get to level 20?
Mhh didn't time it maybe 7-8 hours? Obvioulsy depending on how you play the game, if you are constantly fighting and just rushing from Quest to Quest it can probably be done even faster...

Played through INSIDE and A Memoir Blue in the past few days. INSIDE for the TA "ide" target, A Memoir Blue before it left Game Pass.
A Memoir Blue is a very short game with a touching little story. Took me about an hour to go through the game, picking up some achievements along the way. Got the rest of the achievements on a second playthrough. Aside from finishing the story, none of the achievements are tied to progression but most of them are straightforward enough from the descriptions.
Didn't realize / remember INSIDE was rated M when I started it, so I was a bit surprised with some of the stuff you experience right out the gate. Got through most of the main game on my own, but needed a guide for some spots. Not quite sure what to make of the story.
Need to go out of the way for all achievements, a number of which aren't very clear. Only picked up a couple on the first playthrough. Got a few more with chapter select after clearing the game and based on their relative position to ones I had popped. Used a guide for the rest. Didn't pick up on their visual clues to where they were, though it wasn't much help for some of them.
One of the achievements didn't pop for me when it should have, though the in-game progress counted (the final achievement requires it). Appears to be a problem with the game, though the one that bugged for me isn't one of the ones marked buggy on TA. Some of the pop suggestions on TA didn't work, but I got it by redoing it in a cloud session. (It's on Game Pass, but was also GwG in July 2019.)
Took me about a dozen hours to complete it. Can get through it faster if you give up on the trial and error searching and turn to a guide sooner.

Inside and Limbo are very vague in the story department. Both got praised for their stories and there isn't anything there but how you interpret what you played. It didn't really grab my interest, but it played well and achievements were easy.
Ran some Diablo beta last night and today. Got level 25 with a Necro and had fun with it. Don't think I'll stick with the class though. It's kinda weak when it matters and the minions have 0 agro during boss fights. The butcher sucks.

Finished Kraken Academy last night, I thought it was good
On the load screen though it says 96% complete. Is it always going to say that or is there something else? I have got all the achievements, and after I finished the last boss it asked to save and transport me the beginning of first day.
My save shows 100%. The only thing I can think of is the optional broccoli girl scene, but not sure if that counts towards the %.
Got to level 20 in the D4 beta. My barbarian was just starting to feel good. Sounds like necro and sorcerer are kings of the beta.

PSA - I just tried once again to buy the Xbox Originals game Splinter Cell on my 360 before it went off sale, and it's still unavailable to purchase and giving me an error message on the 360 store.
So, when I bought it on my Xbox Series X and then turned on my Xbox 360 to see if the purchase had also transferred to the 360, it didn't.
So, the lesson learned here is that apparently original Xbox and Xbox 360 games still need to be purchased on the 360 in order to be playable on both the 360 and whatever current-gen Xbox you're using.
(Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow gave the same error, but Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory worked on the 360.)
Glad that I could be the guinea pig for everyone else!

I agree even if the deal goes through by June (end of Microsoft's fiscal year), It'll be awhile before we see Diablo up on Gamepass. Could be up to a year. Game will definitely sell like bonkers. They probably want to capitalize on that. Wonder how long before we start seeing ABK catalog hitting Gamepass?
There's a rumor that Hellblade 2 is targetting november release date. I think they are still doing Mo Cap for the game so looking like this a huge wild card whether it's a 2023 or 2024 release.
We still have no date on Forza either. Could be summer, could be fall.
Still some huge 3rd parties expecting to hit this year that I'm looking forward to.. Lies of P, Stalker 2, Hollow Knight Silksong
Really curious to see if Sekiro lands on Gamepass now seeing as how it was published by Activision.
