I Got to admit, the earn an achievement and get 50 points daily thing not being there for the past few days has been weirdly liberating. Like I don't have to make time to play an XBox game solely for 5 cents and instead I can just have a day where I don't turn it on or play something slower paced.

I usually take my time with games more than necessary and hold back from getting easy gimmie achievements. It's not stressful as much as I just usually have some games locked and loaded for quick points from other games I maybe more focused on that either are slow on that dopamine or on a different console.

We now can have some kind of data point on player counts for top games, but it's going to be fuzzy.

Today's Fortnite update added the feature of showing how many people are currently playing each individual playlist/mode, like some games did to 15 years ago.

Right now, Wednesday evening, there are about 700,000 people playing official Epic created modes. Battle Royale, Save the World, and the like.

The fuzziness is the reason they gave for adding the feature. All the individual community made maps/modes are listed separately so you can see that they are well populated if you want to try something new. There is no collective tally for that, and there are thousands of these modes. There are a few alone cracking 20,000, so there must be a LOT of people in those modes. Probably at least 200,000 more.

The other fuzziness is that this is for all platforms, so it's hard to compare it directly to the Xbox top 50, other than maybe other crossplay games like Apex or Warzone.

So Horizon 5 is now 156gb after an 18gb update and a separate 18gb install for Rally. That can't be right.

Played some of the Rally expansion in Forza. Really liking it so far. If you’re expecting hard core WRC / Dirt Rally racing, you’ll be disappointed. I enjoy those games but I suck at them. So this much more forgiving, arcade-style rally racing is a fun change of pace.

The “sharp-left, over crest” style directions are there, but it’s not as technical as other rally racers. Also, no penalties for going off track, etc. You can play races solo as they would be in WRC or as a regular race. Nice size map. Overall, an enjoyable addition IMO.

And maybe the races get harder, still at the beginning…but I like it the way it is so far. It’s really the Horizon handling that makes it easier than a traditional rally game.

Oh and a new punk station including The Offspring!

Question about pre-orders: I pre-ordered Diablo with expiring credit. But it says my credit card is the backup payment, even though my balance covers it all.

It says I own the game, but my balance does not show it deducted. I just ordered-do I just need to wait to see it reflected?

More Forza is always good.  The start of the DLCs are always slow with unskippable stuff and too many tutorials, but it's worth it when it opens up.

Edit: I cancelled it and reordered in the browser and it took the funds. For some reason, my original console order had my cc as a backup, but the new order didn't.

Feels to me that they made things more difficult in the Rally DLC.  Since I bumped the AI to Unbeatable a while back, I've been able to do pretty well in most of the championship races when cars have been tied to a specific type, but will sometimes struggle in races when any car can be used.  I've had all kinds of trouble with the Rally events so far, taking 3-5 tries to win a number of them.  I'm guessing since the AI isn't directly racing you, I can't screw with them around turns or block them when I'm ahead.  Also turned off the line while in Rally events, so I haven't been handling some of the harder turns well, particularly hairpins.  

 

I just beat the champ of the Raptor team.  On Unbeatable, he just takes off like a shot, and I can get close at one point when he busts through a fence, but then he's off again when you get into the desert and it's no contest.  Was behind pretty far on 2 complete attempts, and quit midway on a few others tries.  Dropped to Pro and I was on his heels at the end.  So the next attempt, I just rammed him into the wall at the start and blocked him out the rest of the way, with another wall ram about 2/3 to 3/4 into the race.

 

Haven't done any of the race events yet, so I'll bump the difficulty back up to see if they go better.

 

Getting all the roads isn't too bad.  There were only 2 that were a little tricky to see on the map.  Found all 20 areas, but had trouble with 2 of them.  Drove by them in races, which didn't trigger them, so spent a bit of time driving around the map in freeroam until I found them.

I agree. I have bad OCD and not having to think about an achievement every day has been great. I’d been completely fine if AMEM never comes back.

Super pissed right now. I finally beat Clustertruck and the achievement for beating the game didn't pop. If you've ever played the game before, you know how incredibly difficult and stupid the last level is. Out of nowhere, the game is making you do things you never had to do and do them 3 freaking times. I finally beat the damn level after like 2 hours of trying and no end game achievement. I closed the game and started it back up but it still says 90% done. No way in HELL(pun intended for those that have played the last level) am I doing that all over again. Google only has a solution for the no abilities cheevo(total freaks that get that) glitch not working but nothing for the normal end game not working. I had so much fun with the game besides level 7-5 and the last level. That noise and seeing it pop would have been so satisfying too.
