I'm almost mid 30's and have discovered my blood pressure is through the roof these days (213/134 as of this morning).  Had no idea how bad that was so I'm cutting all alcohol, sweets, salt and everything else delicious until it's at a reasonable level, long term.

My job is client-facing and on top of COVID, it's been the most stressful year ever. Hopefully when I around to the colonoscopy part of life, I'll have it better managed

Also- 'The Messenger' looks fantastic

Do you take meds for it? Thats really high.

Man you probably need to talk to the doc. That's really high. High blood pressure is hereditary in my family so I stay on top of it. Diet is a big thing. Hope it drops with the changes you're making.

Dang, that’s really high, my doctor wanted to put me on meds back when mine was 154/112 a few months ago but I asked if I could try exercise and diet first and now it’s 124/78 as of this morning, I walk about 2-3 miles out and then run it back home in the mornings. It’s helped me keep mine lower, combined with lower calories and less sugar.

On a liquid diet today because of a colonoscopy tomorrow and I’m starving! Please tell me The Messenger will go live in a hour or so instead of tomorrow morning. I need a new distraction!

Put that drink concoction they give you in the freezer. It will be easier to drink when it's ice cold. Good luck.

The Messenger is up! Have to install it on your console though as it’s not showing GP on the web.

Downloading...

Observation and Streets of Rogue also live.

That is excessively high. No joke, see a doctor ASAP. I've been on a blood pressure pill for a few years & it's no big deal. I still eat like the fat ass I am lol.

Damn. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of someone with a blood pressure that high. As others have said, that is serious stuff. Definitely would see a doctor if you haven’t already.

Hope things get better!

Paying zero of your actual dollars is an A+ CAG move in my book. But you can still do better, by buying games on sale with MS space bucks is even better. So your GPA is a 4.0. People buying stuff on sale is like a 4.2 or whatever. Still an A.

Really? Avengers? That game looks like it needs more assembly in my book, but you do you.

Nobody's is really driving home the fact that you need to see a doctor. I'm 33 and both of those numbers are roughly DOUBLE mine. If your blood pressure was taken correctly and really is that high, then you could very easily have a stroke or heart attack within the next few days. Blood vessels are not designed for pressures that high.

100% of my focus would be on getting that lowered as quickly as possible if I were you. I'd go to the ER.

Blood pressure that high really needs to be medicated. Uncontrolled it can cause a lot of problems. I know the idea of taking a daily medication kind of sucks but once you start it’s not a big deal. I started taking Verapamil a couple years ago cause mine was over the line and causing severe migraines. Change the diet, exercise, and learn to manage stress and you can get off meds.

This, exactly this!!! Get yourself to the ER ASAP!!! My aunt was ended up in the hospital twice last year because her blood pressure went through the roof. Each time they had no idea what had caused it to skyrocket. She wasn't sick and takes medication for it, she also watches what she eats.

It looks a bit better now. They had a viewing today and it looks like it will be pretty fun. I like what they did with tomb raider so hopefully it will be ok. The characters look strange since they dont have the movie actors license so they had to make them look different.

I 3rd this. Get to a hospital quick. High BP runs in my father's side of the family. I've been on meds since my early 20s thanks to a heart surgery that went wrong earlier in life. I got my dad convinced to get meds for his when he was hitting 190/120 for a few days in a row.

Downloading Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Final Remix Collection Turbo Edition, and with my currently slow running internet, it should only take roughly 9 HOURS!!!!!  That is of course a rough estimate.

As a Cardiac Sonographer I highly recommend you see a doctor ASAP. Get an EKG and an echocardiogram, depending on how long your BP has been like that you run the risk of having a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (thick heart muscle) or an aortic aneurysm. If you’re experiencing strong back pain, drop everything and go to the ER. Otherwise do lots of yoga breathing to keep that BP down. Slow inhale through the nose, hold for five seconds and exhale through the mouth. Best of luck!

Wow I love our community here.  Someone posts what, to them, is only a mild concern and immediately the discussion isn't centered on video games or saving money or whatever random topic of the hour we're discussing, but on the well-being of one of us.

To me, that number meant nothing so glad to have all this experience around.  Go team!  :grouphug:

Oh man, it's scary to read medical stuff. I'm not even the one who posted and you guys have me convinced that I'll drop dead if I don't lower my blood pressure. How are you supposed to afford a visit to the ER?

That's why this thread is so much better than the others.  In the PSN deals people would probably be bitching that we aren't talking about deals.

I've been taking Atenolol for years now. It isn't at all a big deal to add medication that could save you from having a stroke or heart-attack.

Technically they were free, and technically you just got four games if the rumors are true. Both the Avengers game, and the newest Madden will come with a free copy of the Xbox Series X version included (supposedly).

Seriously. If you ever show concern for someone or try to help them regarding anything that doesn't have to do with games they lose it. It's really weird. Type of people that would step over you having a stroke to get into a GameStop to get a "deal."

Downloaded and played through Firewatch after picking it up on sale a few weeks (I have no idea when I bought this) ago. Best $5 I have spent in a while, I had a blast playing this game (not sure it is a game...interactive movie or something?).

Anyone do multiple plays, does it change/is it worth it to play again?

If you enjoyed this one, any similar ones out there I need to add to my wish list? My spouse digs this sort of story heavy, relaxed playing thing...any notable ones with a female lead perspective?

Won't somebody please think of the children deals! ;-)

I just hope we didn't scare him off with 20 mt dew guzzling gamers yelling at him to get his health under control. Unless he did it at Albertson's, he's probably got a professional looking after him. I agree it's nice you all aren't just stepping over his dead body, but some of those replies are a wee bit aggressive. One thing a guy with high blood pressure doesn't need is to feel like everyone's talking about how he's probably gonna die in the next few days.

I found an emulator for Asheron's Call, a 20 year old defunct mmo, and got sucked back in like I'm 18 all over again. $1200 on a gaming laptop to play pixelated roguelikes and 90s mmmos; where do I turn my CAG card and gun in?

Played Asheron's Call off and on for the whole life of the game. Haven't tried any of the emulators since shortly after the game shut down. It was an emotional event experiencing the shut down. It's my most played game. Overwatch is my most played xbox game at 620 hours and that's maybe 1/3 my play time of my main character in Asheron's Call.

Picked up Crawl and Bertram Fiddle 2 this week with credit. Anyone play Dreamfall Chapters? Looks like it could be okay.
