Interested in Resident Evil 6, but not necessarily for $20 yet. Any chance this game will show up as a flash sale for 66-75% off instead. Do daily sale games ever go on to be flash sales, or is it vice versa?
66% off maybe, 75% not likely as Capcom games don't regularly see deep discounts. It has already been cheaper, however at GMG. I can't comment as to if it will show up again at a higher discount.

Edit: and I'm too slow...

I've never played the Darksiders franchise. Do I pick up 1 and 2? Or, are they similar enough to skip the first? What about the story??! So many questions....

Please advise.
I think 1 is much better, I felt that 2 was half assed, a lot of aspects felt half baked and the story was garbage. The character was crap, he was supposed to be a horseman of the apocalypse but the entire game you're just running errands for everyone. The mission structure was shit also, it was collect these 3 things, now collect those 3 things... there was even a time when I had to find 3 guys, and one of the guys made me find 3 things, I had to laugh at that. On the other hand, I can't get 1 to run right on my PC, it just stutters non-stop no matter what I try. I was really not pleased with 2 though.

EDIT: Question for you guys. I have a old 360 controller that doesn't charge but will work if it's plugged into a charge cable. Can I just buy a charge cable and use it like a wired controller? I'm assuming you can't but worth asking.

You can't. That was the first thing I tried to do when I got my first Xbox with a P&C kit and while it will make the PC bing as if a device is connected, it doesn't control anything. Lame.

I bought an official wired X360 pad used and the buttons/sticks were what failed, it developed an internal break in the wiring itself at the pad connection. Suckage. Had to buy another one. I've had three Xbox 360s (original one, 2nd one for home, an Elite upgrade) and none of those pads ever failed or degraded. The only bad thing was the mushy D-pad that was the one weak part of a great design.
Not for nothing but I have used a play and charge cable to hook my 360 controllers up to my PC as a wired controller. This eventually killed the battery pack so I would't advise it, but it does work. For awhile I just had the controller plugged in without any battery pack plugged in just acting like a normal wired pad. I finally picked up one of those standalone battery pack chargers to have a couple charged packs on hand at any time and use one of the knockoff wireless receivers for the PC.

What are the chanced that Dark Souls goes for less again? I will probably pick it up for $15 but missed on the first sale for $7 something and voted and lost for the community choice.

Is there any reason to not pick up just cause 2? It's soo cheap but never really got into the demo on the xbox.

It's an Xbox 360 controller, so yes. Xinput is the standard for 360 controllers.
If a controller supports XInput, you don't have to use xpadder to play most games. It just works. So I'm gonna guess it isn't Xinput. :(
Oh, yeah. Definitely then. I was talking for games that don't offer gamepad support (specific example: Cry of Fear). For any game that has even partial controller support, it's totally plug and play. I seriously love the controller. I guess it's made by PDP, and I know people love to shit on 3rd parties...but in all honesty, I don't think official MS controllers are really that reliable either. Either the rubber tips on the thumbsticks rip or the thumbsticks themselves start drifting. If you're going to have to replace the thing every year or two anyway, might as well save some money.

Dagnabbit! I guess I'm looking forward to Darksiders 2 less... Maybe we can get Idiot to write a 5 paragraph essay about it (intro + 3 paragraphs of 3 points of substance backed by three points each + conclusion.

It's worth $15, I paid that back in November. That said at least wait till the last day of the sale.

JC2 is widely liked and well the price is great.

1) up to you. I and many other CAG regulars bought the 91% off games.
I am so pissed that I jumped on the complete pack right away thinking that the 75% discount was a pricing error.

It's made even worse by the fact that I've had the three Crystal Dynamics games sitting in my inventory for months, and all I really needed was the Core games and the newest game. I could have just bought the older games A'la carte, and waited for the newest game to drop a little more in price.

If only I had just waited five more minutes and read the thoughts of people in this thread...

:wall:

Does anyone in here know 100% certain if the Tomb Raider Collection bought in the Russian Steam Store is not region locked or anything? Cause Tomb Raider (2013) bought separately is region locked and I've read contradicting statements about the collection.

Well, you sold me. I'm ordering one today as soon as I find the cheapest place to buy it.
Haha, glad to help. :) My guess would be Amazon if you're still lucky enough to be in a tax free state and/or can get free shipping from Prime or FSSS. Otherwise, it looks like walmart.com has them with free site to store pickup.

One other interesting thing Amazon says about the controller:

Officially Licensed
The Rock Candy Controller Line for the Xbox 360 is officially licensed by Microsoft for a close to first party feel with proven ergonomics.
I don't know if that technically makes it "2nd party", lol. But maybe that'll reassure anyone concerned about buying "off brand".

Aww sorry, and WTH, are you drunk? I mean it's Squeenix!

On the other hand a lot of us jumped on the 91% thinking it was a glitch... 91% is still up. Still a great price though (when will that be matched or beaten?)

Yep, I'm taking the cheepies now and wait for lower. ^_^

You got, got

You can't. That was the first thing I tried to do when I got my first Xbox with a P&C kit and while it will make the PC bing as if a device is connected, it doesn't control anything. Lame.

It's because the cable only transmits power and not data (button inputs, etc).

Petty play-fights induced by the formal-use of "irony" always give me diarrhea.

Virtually everyone I shoot is as light and cool as a breeze. Their #1 conversational concern? Seeming awkward.

The loose use of irony -- situational, specifically -- is not formal, yeah, but people who weren't visited by the vocabulary fairy when they were kids -- "where did the sparkle man who went fly-fly touch you? 'umm... my sacroiliac'" -- don't sweat it because they don't need advanced language skills and, although they may not be able to explain English,  it's intuitive to them because of a lifetime of infectious learning.

A similar objection is an insistence that someone saying "who" should technically be saying "whom" in some situations. "Whom" had a tummy ache, and then it got sick, and now it's moribund*. Let the semantic world live and evolve! Squares who overvalue a wordsworth will become socially and linguistically obsolete in the future.

If I want to talk to a stilted tightass I'll hit up a dwarf trying to make it in the business who obviously must work out.

*RIP WHOM

It died while you were reading.

Follow up to my Darksiders comments, I had to employ several tricks to get Darksiders 2 to work without stuttering when I pan the camera, but I managed to do it. With Darksiders 1 there was just no solution for the same problem. It was much more severe in 1 than 2 before any fixes.

Just Cause 2 is one of my favorite console games of this generation, possibly the best open world of any game. I spent almost 200 hours getting every trophy on PS3 version and then trying to 100% the game. The DLC is not necessary, but you might want to get the rocket parachute. I think you can unlock it free by editing a file but I'm not sure.

Very good chance Dark Souls will get a daily.

JC2 is widely liked and well the price is great.
I won JC2 on Steamgifts a while back and still haven't played it. For when I do, is any of the DLC worth my time while it's on sale? There's no sense in paying for cosmetics or unlocks, but the DLC descriptions don't give us a lot to go on...

I can't unless I move my mouse around. But I'll do so and sell them to you for thirty cents each :)
For me 15 cents is practically a windfall :) I have a full time job making pretty decent money but I still do jobs on MTurk for like a penny, or InboxDollars for 2 cents a video.

Actually, I haven't done either of those for a while now, but hey, money is money

So I had Sleeping Dogs installed a couple months ago and ended up deleting it. I went to pick it back up and the saves are all gone. Am I out of luck on getting them back?

Tomb Raider collection worth the extra $5? Do they all work on modern systems ?
They probably work, but the pre-Legend games (i.e. the ones Core made, not Crystal Dynamics) are terribly dated in graphics and gameplay. Legend was the first one to have proper controls and good visuals (it came out on Xbox 360/PS3/PC), though even that looks dated now compared to the stunning Teen Tomb Ho 2013. It's under $16 to buy the four modern games a la carte, so save the cash and get the ones you won't tear your eyes out playing.

My roommate just switched the internet service to Comcast and he put in their modem.  I just went from being able to stream Pandora, have Netflix, download steam games and whatever they do on their computers to now 700ms+ ping and I can't even load a 720p youtube video.  I'm updating flash 'cause it said to and it's taking forever.

No bueno... this is gonna kill my Steam sale fun... or any of net services...

What modem are you using? When I got comcast the modem they gave me was complete shit, same issue could hardly stream anything. I got the motorola docsis 3 from newegg and I download from steam at 8mb/s. Stream netflix in full HD without a hitch and never have a bad connection Was getting 1.2mb with the crap modem. Check newegg the had a refurb for $50 a couple weeks ago

For you maybe, but some of us have refined tastes.

Send 'em my way, I'd be glad to move my mouse around for 15 cents.

Sleeping Dogs save files are actually in the SD save directory. It's weird like that. I guessing you probably deleted the folder.

Edit: I meant to say they are in the game installation folder.

I already own a that motorola modem and a nice router from Linksys.  I offered to swap because yea, it's garbage.  Straight hot filthy garbage.

Eh, I have both the official Xbox controller and a 3rd party and there's no difference. For reference I'm using the Airflo 360 Controller. works like a charm

Comcasts data cap's 250gb where I live comcasts the only option no fios at all. Besides my gf has fios and its garbage internet speed crawls and the tv randomly loses sound and picture gets distorted more than comcast ever has

I'm going to take my chances with the old ones, I loved playing them as a kid, but never got anywhere because I had no clue what I was doing xD

And Teen Tomb Ho? She has more clothes on and is less sexual than in any of the other games!

Potentially, if you haven't used one in the past.
I have used one in the past. Though, being locked out of the market might be a good thing. I've bought way too many cards this sale.

edit: Adding Steam gift card didn't lock me out of the market.
