FAQ's:

  • Amazon & Gamestop do not have a pre-authorization charge.
  • Bethesda Store and any of the Treehouse Brand Stores do not have a pre-authorization charge either.
  • Best Buy, NISA Store, Square-Enix Store all have a pre-authorization that goes away after 3-4 days or so, 7-10 days max.
  • All pre-orders with Paypal, you pay the full amount when the order is placed NOT when it is shipped.  This goes for every retailer that takes Paypal as a form of payment
  • Be cautious when going for free shipping from any Exclusive Store since they all use Digital River.  Say you order 2 CE's from S/E Store and they have different release dates, DR will wait till the last item comes out to ship yours.  Meaning (since Digital River sucks donkey balls), they could end up selling your pre-order on the first item to release and you could be SOL.  Also be careful ordering something to get your free shipping threshold as well because if the item goes OOS, then you have to wait for it to come back in stock.  This happened to many CAGs ordering the Lightning Returns CE from the S/E store because they ordered key chains that went OOS.
  • ^TL;DR Version:  If something goes out of stock or is not out yet, it will delay your order.

They were never available in-store. They said so on the BestBuy forums where this was announced.

Due to the limited nature of these, we will not be accepting pre-orders for them in our stores, however. They will only be available for pre-order on BestBuy.com and only for shipping. You can follow the links below to pre-order yours today.

Another CE I wanted to pick up that I don't get to pre-order in the insanely tight window it was available and therefore will miss out on my silly tchotchkes.  I'm sure I will see plenty available out on ebay or amazon sellers for 2x cost.

3rd time this year -- honestly it is getting a bit annoying.

Well if it does stay sold out I really only want the steel and art book. You can have the statue for a pro rated cost if you want it. We could discuss that closer to release as we have 9 months to go lol
 
Well, If I end up getting both the LE and the CE I'll only want the Statue from the LE - so the Steelbook, game, etc. won't do me any good to have 2 of.  The game doesn't come out for another 9 months though, so who knows? Just keep it mind, I'd be happy to part with the other stuff.

 
The BBY mods said it's just a glitch like I predicted. Didn't make sense the LE would sell out when it's available everywhere.

Hello again everyone,

We’ve had some hiccups in getting these to display correctly which we’re currently working on resolving. In order to do this, we moved them all to unavailable, which is why you’re seeing “Sold Out.” While these are limited, especially the Batmobile Editions, I don’t believe we are actually sold out yet. Once we have everything buttoned down again, they should go back live.

To clarify, the Batmobile Editions will be on BestBuy.com only and only for shipping. The Limited Editions will be on BestBuy.com only and will be available for Store Pickup and shipping.

Well when i placed a order for the Batmobile edtion it went through but i choose store pickup. I am wondering if i may have to call them to change to shipping since that is the only way yo get it apparently.

EDIT: The Limited Edition listings are up, but not the Batmobile Edition ones.

Hmm...their tax system is still down, but I more than likely won't have the GC I use to pay for the LE by the time the game releases. I suppose I can make sure I leave ~$4 on the GC (I'm also using a $25 certificate), but this is annoying regardless.

It depends on your CC company or bank. I use Discover for my online orders and from what I've seen they do a preauth work charge that shows up for 2 days then it drops off and never comes back again until your order is fulfilled.
 
The LEs are available for shipping only PreOrder again, Batmobile version still showing as sold out.

Tax system is still down so it didn't correctly get my GCU/price, but I put in a PO anyway.   Will cancel if I can get the Batmobile edition.

GCU is always applied pre-tax anyway.

 
K just preordered the batman LE for xbox one until the batmobile one get fixed and two quick questions:

1. Is standard shipping the only shipping available for some reason? Cause I always choose expedited but only standard is given as a option

2. Since when is signature required for delivery? I have pre ordered alot from best buy and this is the first time I seen that

Well, this is embarrassing--how can I check the shipping speed for my preorder? I don't see any indication of it on my LE preorder. :whistle2:k

I think the listing is still screwed up. I have never been forced to pick standard shipping for any item I preordered from BB. They always give you the option of the expedited services and if you're Elite Plus, the expedited should also be free.

This is actually pretty weird for Best Buy. I'm Elite Plus and standard shipping is my only option (I should get expedited for free). Ordered the LE just in case I can't find a batmobile... doesn't look like I'll be able to.

exactly I'm elite plus to that why I'm dumbfounded by this
 
We should be able to call in later and have the shipping upgraded to Expedited once their system isn't so screwy. I don't see how that would present a problem.

doubtful cause before I ordered a non pre order item and selected wrong shipping before and called in 5 minutes later to fix that order and they told me they couldn't change shipping speed until after the item ships out which mean either way it wouldn't be here on release day

...But that wasn't for a preorder, so maybe it would be different here? I've had a preorder changed from store pickup to ship-to-home and vice-versa in the past.

mods can edit any thread anyhow and plus they never mod the forum anymore really anyhow that why all the Msrp threads and trolling threads anymore so if they don't mod the forum doubtful they have to tend to a single thread
 
its too bad the batmobile version doesn't come with the batman statue too.  batman statue is pretty cool, batmobile is kinda ... eh.  if it was a remote control car, yeah for sure - be awesome to chase the dog with

LE is worth it though $80+tax and $10 RZ plus whatever in spend points, can probably finish the game in like 2 weeks and trade it in for $40 so net $20 for a nice batman statue, comic book, artbook, and steelcase.

this is the rocksteady version too so should be more like the first 2 and not like the crappy 3d origins game, which still hasn't released its GOTY with all DLCs

Squeezed in an Xbox One Batmobile preorder on my phone while chomping on tacos during lunch.  Having to key in my credit card info on the phone had me nervous it would sell out before I got it in, but it worked.

$160 with GCU and I bit on upgrading to the cheapest not-free shipping.

Phew!

I was just now able to place a new order for the LE with Expedited shipping and canceled my old one just now that had the standard shipping. So expedited shipping is showing up now if anyone who was forced to select standard shipping want to place a new order with the expedited shipping

The Batmobile edition is still in stock to just placed a order a minute ago until i decide which version i wana keep
