welcome. ps3 bf3 cag is pretty informal. just the way, bf3 is setup its hard to have more than 4 people in a squad together. plus, even if youre in a party, the server often times split you up for balancing issues. theyre addressing this issue with the next patch. the easiest way to play with us regulars is to add the people from the spreadsheet (especially, the more frequent posters here), then when youre online & someone else is .. bam. if they ignore your messages, it could be for a number of reasons. he/she might be in a full squad already (4 members). you could always try to crash the server by "Join server" option on their name but sometimes the server is full. sad panda.

if theyre playing tdm, theyre often times grinding. i still need someone to play coop with. still need to finish hard mission 4 (sniper) and undetected mission 4 & 3?

Yeah, I haven't touched the Co-Op either. I finished the campaign and...meh. You wouldn't be missing anything other than trophies if you decided not to play it.
 
Welcome Kaiser, I have barely touched sp or coop. I plan on finishing the coop one day, and the sp as well but coop first. I have been totally consumed by the mp, I absolutely love it. Feel free to add me. I always play conquest, I played TDM and hate it I just cannot get used to it after the objective base games. Feel free to add me this is the only game I play right now. I usually have difficulty balancing real life friends and cag friends, so I apologize if I don't accept your invite or don't invite you.

I'll add you, I don't have much friends who play the same modes as me and I love conquest. Can't wait for my fav map Wake Island. :)

game just came in today from amazon. ill be adding some of you guys tonight, but if i dont add you, feel free to add me. i added myself to that google sheet.

played bc2 a shit ton, but im sure itll take a little bit for me to get my bearings with the new maps.

Very nice that gun is a fucking beast. Even after being shot a few times you can still blow enemies away. The gun has its maps and times, sometimes I forget its a shotgun and try to start firing to far away and get my ass handed to me but its a fun gun that for sho!

I haven't seen to many people go flying when using the gun, but when I have my tank and blast people with it, its hilarious when they go shooting up in the air twenty some feet.

Starting November 30th at 09:00 CET (that's 00:00 PST), we will do a scheduled maintenance of our database. We estimate that this maintenance will take approximately three hours, and it will affect all formats.

During this time, we will also roll out the client update for Battlefield 3 on PlayStation 3 (Xbox 360 will follow shortly). When you start the game, you will be notified of the update, and we strongly advise you to download it, since it contains a number of fixes, updates, and some new features. Full change list below. For reference, this is a very similar update to what the PC version received recently:

General fixes

• Significant improvements to the Squad Join interface, full details in this earlier blog post
• Removed FIND ME A SQUAD option
• Allow players to join empty Squads alone, thus having 1/4 Squad members
• Change order of options to LEAVE SQUAD, INV A FRIEND, SWITCH TEAM
• Disable Privacy flag when 1 man Squad
• Reset Privacy flag from Private to Public when Squad drops to 1 player
• All occupied Squads will now show up colored blue on the Squad selection screen
• Players who choose not to join Squads will also show up as Blue in the "Not in a Squad” line
• Squads that are currently empty will display as white -- if you wish to join an empty Squad, you can choose the first one marked with white text
• Added round duration and ticket summary at end of round screen
• Fixed sound for when climbing ladders
• Fixed and issue with some weapons' sounds in first person view
• Fixed a swim sound loop error
• You should no longer be able to damage a friendly vehicle when sitting in an open position
• Grenades now drop to ground if you get killed while attempting to throw it
• Spawn protection now should work in Conquest so you no longer should spawn too close to enemies
• You should no longer spawn too close to enemies in TDM and SQDM
• Fix for missing input restriction during intro movie, causing players to potentially fall and die while watching movie if moving controller (or having a controller with a bad stick zone)
• Combat areas on Kharg Island in Rush mode tweaked in order to disallow defenders to access the carrier ship after first base is taken and being able to enter the AA gun
• Fixed a problem with revived players not being able to get suppressed
• Fixed a problem with the camera when being revived in co-op
• Spotting VO now plays when spotting from MAV/EOD bot
• Fixed several issues regarding the kill card, including showing wrong weapons used for the kill
• Fixed that sometimes you would be stuck on a black screen when kicked from server
• Fixed so when a team captures two flags at the same time, the UI does not show wrong owner of the flag
• Fixed a problem where the capture progress bar was shown as friendly when the enemy was capturing
• Fixed a problem with the bipod deploy sound
• Fixed a problem that you could be spawned in with no weapons after being killed while using the EOD bot
• Fixed problems with health bars not displaying health properly when using EOD bots
• Fixed a problem with flickering name tags
• Fixed a problem where you could damage friendly helicopters
• Fixed a problem where you could get stuck in the co-op menu when attempting to join the session twice
• You should now be able to spot explosives
• You should no longer spawn in home base if your selected spawn point is disabled while waiting to spawn (e.g. if your teammate dies right before you are about to spawn)

• Fixed a hang in terrain streaming, causing the user to get stuck on black screen under special circumstances in single player
• Fixed a problem where the enemy would not be able to get a road kill on a user that was using the SOFLAM
• Fixed soldiers disappearing in the mortar kill cam
• Fix for Type88 and MG36 zoom in animation offset when in supported shooting mode (using bipods)


Balance changes

• Increased the damage of helicopter miniguns, AA guns, and jet cannons against infantry
• Increased the damage of helicopter miniguns against jeeps
• Reduced the physics impact of AA guns and jet cannons so players under attack from these weapons no longer should lose control
• Increased the damage of the 44 Magnum slightly
• Increased the range and minimum damage of the .357 Round from the MP412 Rex
• Increased the range of all .45cal and 9mm weapons
• Slightly increased the range of the P90 and MP7 and PDW-R
• Slightly increased the range of the 5.56mm PDW-R and decreased the minimum damage at long range
• Slightly increased the minimum range of the Mk11, SVD, and M39 EMR 7.62mm rifles
• Decreased the maximum damage and maximum range of the G3 and SCAR-H 7.62mm weapons
• Reduced the damage from FIM-92 and SA-18 IGLA missiles against aircraft
• Increased the damage and range of the 40mm BUCK rounds
• Reduced the damage .50cal weapons do against helicopters
• Updated T90 canister shell tweaks to match Abrams canister shells
 
so do tanks have wwaayyyy more armor in this game than they did in bc2? it seems like it takes forever to kill a tank with RPGs.

tanks would go down fairly easily if you hit them from the back. a few and they were toast.

im also already tired of prone campers after just a few games.
 
There are all kinds of upgrades for tanks that can make them repair faster, shoot faster, have thermal camo, or upgraded armor. Engineers can also repair tanks fairly quickly which can be annoying if the other team has them covered. Aim at the turret for maximum damage. You can spot people with the select button if they are in your crosshairs and prone people won't do much damage if you have good team work and they also make for a easy headshot. You can also shoot there legs through some cover. Last night i was playing after the patch and i could see all enemy equipment on my minimap including mines and claymores. Also after i repaired a tank it was still spazzing out and acting like it had 1% health when it had 100.
My highlights in the game include getting 2 double headshots within 5 minutes of one another with the magnum bullet bolt action sniper and two 300 meter headshots in one game. KD is at like 1.88 now and winning percentage is still around 1.8. I use all the classes too and have service stars for all of them except support, which i am about to get.
My skill is at like 340 although the other day it was at 420. I didn't really play that bad that day so i was wondering how the hell my skill dropped like 75 points.
 
Oh sweet, I'm going to be playing today from around 2:30Pm Pacific time to around 4:30ishpm pacific I got 2 hours to play.
 
I am lagging now since the update. I am on wifi but before matches would be lag free? I wonder....

Did you know that it depends on where you hit the tank? 4 on the front, 3-4 on treads, 2-3 back
 
Now you can see enemies claymores on the mini map .. that makes no sense. I appreciate the heads up but it defeats the purpose if youre the one laying down the claymore
 
What happened to them banning all the boosters? You see the #1 guy? the dude is Dar FUK EA, hes #1 with no stats. Hes also got like 4-5 other accounts all named lll-DAR-lll. Who is this loser? i also thought they were dimming the tactical light....o well.

oh ya of course. id always aim for the back in bc2 or the side. id never shoot head on unless i absolutely had to and it had other rockets go into it before hand.

The dimming of tactical lights is coming in the next patch they said. Can't wait for that, tired of teammates blinding me and me ending up dead.

ok, so this "disabled" vehicle bullshit has to go. i shot a rocket into a jeep, disabled it, yet the gunner still mows me down with the top gun afterwards?!?! WTF! in bad company 2, him and everyone in that jeep would have been fucking toast.

also, i was next to a jeep with someone inside, i point blank shoot him in the face through the window with my shotgun with not even a flinch. jeep has impenetrable windows now?

bring bad company 3 ASAP please.

If the game is going to show the enemy where the mines are, they might as well show enemy locations. They completely crippled mines. As for the knifing, I stated I want my character to go after the enemy from 6 feet away and attempt a knife kill, not just swing aimlessly at nothing but air. If someone is reloading, I'm going to run forward and try to knife them. I shouldn't have to be a foot away just to get the knife animation to activate.

Oh I was under the impression that once a mine was spotted it was shown on the map but if they are automatically being shown then I agree that is wack.

As far as the knife thing sorry about that. I do see what you are saying and I too wish that there could be more of an effort made when you use the knife as right now it is pretty lame. :D

Infrared with a light machine gun was a staple to my gameplay (probably more of a crutch though). I hope I won't be too disappointed when I update that patch.
 
Boom i went 61 and 15 in Rush on caspian border yesterday. I sniped, used a aek, a tank, and a shotgun with nightvision i picked up off a dead guy. I even got 2 seperate grenade kills via parachute after using my spawn beacon. After that i got 3 headshots over 300 meters in one game and setting a new record for myself at 360. i believe some of you told me i would get raped cause i never played battlefield before but my kd is 1.9 and my winning % is 2.0.
You can grab the enemy from a few more yards away if you have your knife in hand already. And yes the hit detection for rockets can be very inaccurate.
