As luck would have it, I went to three Big Lots and all of them had all the other $4.00 games EXCEPT Darwinia or Space Rangers 2. So if anyone can get an extra Darwinia and wants something else off the list, maybe we can trade... my BL had lots of other shit, like the Splinter Cell games, X3, Tribes Vengenace.

I did manage to get a $6 copy of X3 though... awesome deal. I've been wanting this game for a loooooooong time, and now that it's Starforce free, I jumped on it.

Scored X3 as well. Had problem with the install(disc 2 read error). There's an easy workaround for it though. It can NOT be registered with Steam.

Also picked up Mafia. The PC version of this game was off my radar for some reason, guess I was blinded by the mediocre xbox reviews.

And Tribes is a total buy if you're a fps fan. Starforce free and a really fun single player game.

Just a note to say that the master list has finally been updated again (5-1-07) with 56 (!) games. I drove out to 2 local Big Lots and verified the recent member updates, as well as found some new games.

A big thanks to everyone who is helping keep this thread alive and share the Big Lots game deals.

I give a special thanks to member Slash for his detailed updates (Thank you, sir!)

I hit a Big Lots in Burlington and unfortunately they didn't have any games. I was kinda disappointed since my local store closed down and used to get some, and people have been finding pretty good stuff at 'em in this thread.

Never have luck with Target clearances either. Guess I'm doomed to live off internet deals.

My local Big Lots had nothing but some crappy casino games. There are tons of titles on that list of new additions that I'd like to pick up, but no love for PC games at my store. :(

If someone wants Sniper Elite, I have put it on my trade list. It has Starforce. Some might not care, but I don't want to deal with it.

grabbed a copy of bards tale for 4.00(wanted to get it from CC.com but didnt want to pay shipping back when they knocked the price way down).
Grabbed a collection of Ernest movies for 6.00, but other than that wasnt much good there(was debating on picking up Lords of the Realm III, but decided against it for now). Too bad they didnt have darwinia or some of those other titles there or I would have grabbed them.

Picked up Darwinia, one copy left after buying mine.

Passed on the one copy of Space Rangers 2 because, while it sounded like a blast, I literally have no time to get sucked into a game like that.

Still can't find Psychonauts.

I'll be checking the other Big Lots location tomorrow.

Pretty sure that Space Rangers 2 is starforced. Apparently you can download the game without starforce but it cost 19.95.

Well, I really hate going into our Big Lots store (Stevens Point, WI), because I get a really bad vibe from that place. I mean not even taking into account the MULTIPLE employee/manager stabbings, it's just got this creepy feeling in there. But whatever, I went in and found a few games that were on the list (mainly graphic adventure ones), and a few that aren't on the list:

Iron Storm - $6
The Messenger - $6
Cyborgirl Pinball - $0.50

Hope this helps.

That's true of pretty much any Big Lots store... you will typically see some rough-looking folks in there shopping, and the store is usually in slight-moderate disarray.

But, that's all part of the Big Lots experience! Don't be afraid of it, just try to soak it in! :)

That's what makes Big Lots so great! (sans the stabbings anyway) They redid my local store to make it more "upscale," which totally defeats the idea of Big Lots. I just hope they don't start raising prices any more...

Anyone find any copies of Psychonauts? I may be interested in buying/trading...as of yesterday, there were 2-3 copies of Darwinia and 1 copy of Space Rangers 2 (Starforced, I believe). There were others from the list, but those two titles stood out.

If you have it or can get it, PM me with how much you want for Psychonauts, shipped USPS media rate. I'm looking for sealed/unopened, of course...minimal damage to box if possible, but I know how Big Lots is. Also PM if you're interested in Darwinia, SR2, or another title from the list...I can go see if they're still there.

Darwinia isn't listed on their website :(

And I snagged Tribes: Vengence and Armed&Dangerous for $4 each at Big Lots.

It will probably be awhile before I actually get around to playing them, but I love buying dirt cheap games.

so yea, i checked my local big lots out (i don't think i had EVER gone in there before either...) and it was bump :) It didn't have any games at all. But i did find some good deals on bread and brownie mix :)
It will probably be awhile before I actually get around to playing them, but I love buying dirt cheap games.
Yeah, that's the thing about Big Lots and these cheap games. I picked up 5 new games myself when I went to update the master list.

These 5 will get added to my even larger back-log of games to get through. :(

Just to confirm: some Big Lots keep their games in the "electronics" section (same place you find blank DVD-R's, A/V cables, etc. (good deals on A/V cables, btw)). Other Big Lots have a little makeshift kiosk, usually near the front of the store, that displays games and movies. If the kiosk is set up correctly, you'll see the ESRB ratings cardboard standup atop the kiosk, so it's easy to see from across the store.

And then some Big Lots have both of these game locations simultaneously. Just have to look around you local stores. But I've never been to a Big Lots that didn't carry at least *some* games, and I've been to quite a few Big Lots...

Every Big Lots I went has this roll around 4 sided cart in the checkout lane with games thrown in amongst the shitty DVD's, cassestte's, and VHS tapes... no ESRB things or anything. It's like they get them in and just dump it straight onto a shelf and walk away.

I didn't even know Big Lots had an electronics section, but I only go in, go to that cart, check it out, and leave.

It's a huge pain in the ass since the cart is right where people stand in line to get rung out.

I could've bought Zoo Tycoon, Vietcong and Space Colony, but I figured two games was enough for one trip. My Big Lots used to shove the games into a crappy bin -- now they're near the front in a video/dvd/game kiosk. At least they get a new shipment of fairly decent games every week.

Although I wonder where they're buying these dirt cheap games from...

The only two games my Big Lots had that I had even heard of was Brothers in Arms and PoP Warrior Within. I bought both, despite not terribly wanting either. They had like 4 or 5 other games, but they all seemed terrible.

Wow, is it really completely dead already? I know the publisher ended support for it, but perhaps there are other master servers?

I know Tribes 1 used to use the old WON master servers, but now there is this master server: t1m1.masters.dynamix.com:28000 , which has ~170 servers running.

Distributors whoa re stuck with warehouses full of older PC titles. There's always a retailer with a bin of cheap PC games. I remember around 5 years ago Dollar Tree got a big shipment of PC games: No One Lives Forever, Imperium Galactica II, Baldurs Gate, a ton of other titles including some hard to find Mac stuff. $1 a piece. Now THAT was a deal. Too bad Dollar Tree stopped buying closeouts; now they only carry garbage made specifically for their stores.

Anybody else remember that? Could have been a dream I had  .
Picked up Tribes Vengeance at my big lots. Fun game but 0 people play online.
I figured as much, but I thought the single player campaign would be worth $4. I haven't installed the game yet, so I hope I'm not wrong :D

Picked up Tribes Vengence over the weekend myself. Nothing else there except for Vietcong. Not much of anything lately. Unless another local CAG is cleaning them out. :p

I bought Darwinia and Space Rangers 2 for $3.99 each. But then I remembered on the way home that SR2 is Starforced! Is there a way to remove this treacherous software? Or should I just return the game?
Tribes:Vengeance's SP campaign is worth $4.
Easily agreed.
Very good SP campaign in that game.

Yeah I picked up Tribes myself. What a great game. And it's a shame no one is playing online.

I would be all for rallying some CAGs together to play online, since most of us are new at it and everything :)

I picked up a few games at a local biglots... Darwinia, Tribes, painkiller expansion, moscow to berlin, and Cuban missile crisis. I havn't opened any of them yet as I thought i would ask to see if any of you wanted one that you couldn't find at your BL... I have them for sale/trade in my ft/fs thread. all prices include shipping so thats why they are a few dollars more.

happy hunting, i'm going to try my local BL like once a week now.

I picked up Darwinia at BL a few weeks ago. Was hoping to see Space Rangers as well. They had a few other titles there from the new shipment, but nothing I didn't already own.

Same here. Too bad SR has Starforce...I couldn't bring myself to install it on my machine

Some new finds:

In Cold Blood + SuperPower (Huge Box Double Game Pack, like the "Arthur's Knights" Double Pack) - $6.00
WANTED: A Wild Western Adventure - $6.00

I couldn't find SWAT4 anywhere though. :'(

Stopped by my usual Big Lots today and they upped the price on every PC game to $6.00. Has this happened to anyone else?

I wouldn't say every game title is $6.00, but Big Lots has abandoned the $x.99 pricing scheme in favor of rounding up a penny... $3.99 games now $4.00...

and in your case, $5.99 games now $6.00...
Stopped by my usual Big Lots today and they upped the price on every PC game to $6.00. Has this happened to anyone else?
LOL Big Lots's game prices go up and down every shipment, why they can't just settle on $5 as a permanent price is beyond me. I love it when they get the game same in different shipiments with different price tags. I actually remember seeing three copies of the same title last year which had come in three different waves: one $3.99, one $4.99, one $7.99...

Now what's really fun is to bring those game up to the service desk and ask for a price check. Oh Big Lots, we kid you cause we love you.

My Big Lots didn't have Space Rangers 2 a month ago, but they just restocked with a whole new load of everything. Loads of the Cinemaware Marquee drops: Space Rangers 2 and Darwinias, as well as others that didn't interest me. If you couldn't get a Space Rangers 2 (Warning: Starforce. Doesn't bother me as much as SF sat on my system for ages after I... ahem, acquired a few specific PC games.), you might wanna check on back and see if a new shipment has come in.

I was at my local BL yesterday, but it was the same stuff. BUT, I went around to different BLs last weekend, and only one had all the Cinemaware software. Go figure. :)

Yeah, there was TOO much Cinemaware stuff at my local Big Lots. I doubt they shipped that much to every Big Lots in my area...

Also, Contract Jack- $4

Old, yes, but it was a new arrival at my local Big Lots.

I saw Half-Life 1 Anthology today for $6, but I couldn't quite pull the trigger, even though I've never played the game and hear nothing but good things. The required install/login through Steam bugs me; maybe I'll just get it for the PS2.
