I went down this morning during my lunch break. I got...

Maximum Underworld (Max Payne/Mafia double pack)
Baldur's Gate II Collection
Sniper Elite
City of Villains
Pyschonauts

$6 each.

I'll check out some other nearby stores if it isn't storming tonight.
Where is the Big Lots you went to?
I picked up The Political Machine for $2.99 a couple weeks ago. It's really a pretty fun game for three bucks. The only problem is that I found a loophole that pretty much makes it impossible for me to lose, so there's really no challenge any more.
Tell me more. Nixon and Lincoln can be real bitches with their 4 million a turn and 800 time units per turn.

I don't know if it's a glitch or what, but you can keep piling webmasters into one state and eventually your ads start making you money. So basically I just dump a bunch of them into one of the bigger states and then when you have a decent bankroll, filling the states up with smear merchants and spin doctors to crush your opponent.

That IS odd. Are you using the latest patch?

Sweetest moment of TPM in memory: Snatching the League of Women Voters endorsement away from Hillary! while playing as Ahnuld.

No patches here, that could be the issue. Guess I won't be patching anytime soon then ;)

Heh, the boss characters usually can turn the entire thing into a one-issue election on the issue they have 200+ rating on simply because they churn out about 50 ads a turn. Pretty much every time I took down the likes of Washington or Lincoln, I was pretty much down to election night moving of spin doctors, number crunching, and prayer.

Other supersweet TPM moment: Wrecking Jimmeh Carter with Nixon, SWEEPING ALL FIFTY STATES BITCHES!

I completely wasted 10 minutes checking the Springfield, IL Big Lots today. Absolutely nothing but true crap, and they've had some decent stuff in the past.

My big lots doesnt have any pc games except for some lame apprentice game which no one seams to want. (its been sitting there for like 3 weeks)

Big Update. All games are $6.00 even. Looks like all future Big Lots games are going to be at least $6.00. This isn't all the new games at my Big Lots, but most.

Games released by The Adventure Company (Adventure Games):
Arthur's Knights & Arthur's Knights II (Huge Double Big Box Size with 2 games)
The Crystal Key (Big Box)
Beyond Atlantis (Big Box)
Traitor's Gate 2
The Moment of Silence
Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern
The Mystery of the Mummy
Sentinel: Descendents in Time
MISSING: Since January
Atlantis: Evolution
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon

Games released by Dreamcatcher Games:
Painkiller: Gold Edition (Include original and expansion pack below)
Painkiller: Battle Out of Hell (Painkiller expansion pack)
Harbinger
Besieger
Enigma: Rising Tide - Gold Edition
Obscure
Curse: The Eye of Isis

Other:
Mafia
D-Day
Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30
Soldier Elite
Gore: Ultimate Soldier
Firefighter Command: Raging Inferno

My other Big Lots only had the last lot of games (Advent Rising, Vietcong 2, Psychonauts, etc). No Baldur's Gate at either, though! Painkiller and Mafia are probably two of the bigger names on the list, but if you are a fan of adventure games, there is an assload to choose from.

Went back again and added some more to the list above:

Missing
D-Day
Obscure
Atlantis: Evolution (from previous lot, but I'll list it anyways)
Curse: The Eye of Isis
Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30
you have no excuse not to get mafia for that price
Yes you do, initially... first, you go and buy EA's "Godfather" for $40, play it for a while, realize how much it sucks arse.

And then you can buy "Mafia" and bask in its greatness... I wonder what Illusion Softworks are up to these days? I think they tried to license the LSD Engine (from Mafia) but didn't do so well... and I'm not sure if they're working on any new titles.

Went back AGAIN and added a few more to the list above:

Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon
Soldier Elite
Gore: Ultimate Soldier
Firefighter Command: Raging Inferno

I think that's all of the ones at my Big Lots.

Just a word of warning - ALL of these games contain Starforce. (I removed the ones not mentioned on this page.)

http://www.glop.org/starforce/list.php

If you have an issue with that particular copy protection method, well, now you know.

My Big Lots in Clovis, California had some Ubisoft titles: Splinter Cell Chaos theory, a bundle pack with the first two Splinter Cell games, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Rainbow Six: Lockdown.

Those games were at the Big Lots in the Western NY area about 4 months ago, if I remember correctly. Actually, yes I posted in January about those and others mentioned them even before that. It's weird how games are distributed...

I loved Mafia, but you need a gamepad for the driving. Painkiller Gold looks like a good deal; most of the Adventure Company/Dreamcatcher stuff is garbage. Occasionally they come up with a gem, but thats an exception.

Painkiller is a good old-fashioned Serious Sam style shooter. If ridiculously over the top Havok physics and ragdoll kills turn you on, then PK will be a treat. It ain't, however, a game that you can't live without. The test of time will beat this game any day of the week, and it just isn't anything special beyond being "pretty good."

Wow, so months of nothing and now even MORE games. The other Big Lots 20 minutes away still has NOTHING. Since this is so close to my other post, I'll just post them all and bold the new ones. All of these are $6.

Advanced Battlegrounds: The Future Of Combat
Arthur's Knights & Arthur's Knights II (Huge Double Big Box Size with 2 games)
Atlantis: Evolution
Besieger
Beyond Atlantis (Big Box)
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon
Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30

SuperPower

The Crystal Key (Big Box)
The Moment of Silence
The Mystery of the Mummy
Top Secret: Cypher Mission
Traitor's Gate 2
Voyage
X3: Reunion

Alot of these are from DreamCatcher games or The Adventure Company, which are basically the same thing. They have complete game lists on their website, so you can see what may be coming in the future:

Slash:

Much thanks for your effort in giving some new game details. I'll update the master list very soon.

Thanks to everyone else who is contributing to the thread as well!

Confirmed for Tucson AZ eastside location! I picked up...

THANKS FOR THE POST!!!!
Never get your hopes up with Big Lots, that's all I'll say...
That's almost philosophical...

I found Space Rangers 2: Dominators at the Big Lots that hasn't had anything in a long time. I think they found it in back somewhere and put it on the shelf. It was $3.99. There's a chance you may stumble upon it, but because of the price, it makes me think it's older stock. But it hasn't been mentioned on the thread yet, so I'm doing so. It sounds like it's pretty good:

Ooh, that's a definite buy.

Like I said, the odds of your Big Lots having SOMETHING are pretty good, though nothing is guaranteed. If they have what you went in to buy? Lucky. Still, you should get to know your local BL.

Unless, you know, you live near me. Then you need to stay the fuck out until I've checked. :p

If the low prices entice you, I will always say you should give The Political Machine and Space Colony second glances. They ain't perfect (Both are quite novel but get old in the details after you've gotten yer $4 worth), but they can be charming in their own ways.

Hey Slash,

I'm from WNY too, and if you're talking about the BL on Transit, it is a gold mine. Just picked up Bro. in Arms, Rainbow 6: Lockdown and Prine of Persia. Awesome, thanks for the heads-up!!

I love to stop by Big Lots every once and a while. You never know what you'll find in that store. I need to stop by and check for those Law & Order games, anybody know if they're decent?

Good deal on the highly acclaimed Darwinia, although I found it pretty boring when I played it. Still a good price though.

Space Rangers 2 is fantastic. I literally blew a month after graduation (give or take a few days) playing this game. And that's including skipping most of the RTS portions too. I was hoping for a Star Control 2, it doesn't match the storytelling of that game, but in many other areas i.e. a feeling of being in a true galactic war where you're just as hampered by incompetent management as in a real war lol it exceeds all previous efforts.

If I was back in high school and had the time ,games like this and Jagged Alliance 2 are games that I would literally play over and over until perfection.

My Big Lots was cleared out and had maybe a handful of children's games at best. I did pick up some Stacker2 energy drinks for 50 cents a piece though.

I was pretty disappointed by the selection of games at Big Lots in Maplewood, MN. I picked up Superpower for $6. I see it's not on the list. It is a complicated game, but was totally worth 6 bucks just so I could send 3 nukes into Mexico. I mean, c'mon, who has never dreamed of nuking Mexico. (look out Canada, your next.) :bomb:

My Big Lots was cleaned out too, very disapponting since they usually have a decent PC selection. I went there looking for BS. I'd be happy to pay about 10 bucks for it if any CAGer can find it, Rollingskull you returned your copy yet?

When someone originally posted that Psychonauts was $6, I immediately decided that I needed to go check for that title. Then I immediately forgot.

Read this thread last week, remembered, cursed myself, and then checked both locations. No Psychonauts. Now, it may have not been there in the first place but, nevertheless, I'm still bummed.
