If it is a mall it is mall hours or 8am if the mall allows it. If it is a strip store it is 8am to ? set by manager.

It's just kind of out in the open in a little strip with maybe another store or two. But yeah, thanks, I'll head over at 7:45am or so.. I just want the DVD's so I'd hope that I can get something good seeing as I imagine everyone is going for games.

Planning to start at 8 AM, Future Shop > Best Buy > Mall (HMV, EB, Zellers) > Wal-Mart > Sleep.

I thought the PS3 was backwards compatable?
 
The 60 and 80 gig versions are BC yes, but BC was removed on the 40 gig unit to save money, although I believe the 40's are compatible with ps1
 
Ah, thanks for the heads up. I'd rather have a PS3 that can still play some of the PS2 games I still play at the moment despite it being a good deal. Because of XBox 360 noobness, was is the normal price of a Halo 360 console? Is the $450 listed on futureshop and dell a really good deal?

Well the best price that I know of appears to be the Best Buy price of $400, getting lower is a pretty rare thing as far as I know (Amazon.ca boxing week sale aside)
 
Friend of mine stopped by a superstore and they didn't have the sixaxis for sale, they were still marked at 59.99, salesperson said they won't be marked down.

Got an HDMI for the 6.98.

Mine said it was $10 OFF, not $10 =( Oh well... still got me COD4 and Rainbow Six Vegas for $60 at Best Buy =)
 
Well, didn't pick up anything anywhere. Went to EB, Future Shop, and Best Buy. Why the hell does Rogers have to open at 10am? >:\
 
lol ya rogers is gay, I went to eb and picked up crackdown and stuntman ignition for 10$ each, rogers was still closed so I didnt bother.

I tried too, just regular price of $60. For $10 off, EBG already sells them for $50.
 
Rainbow Six Vegas for 20 bucks at BB is such a great deal...I should have waited until today but meh...bought and beat the whole game last week. Anyways picked up Bioshock and CoD 4 for $80 this morning.

Grabbed an Original Xbox today. First EB I we to was out, but told me the 4 free games stacked with the 39.99 price. Second EB I went to, however, had Xboxes but told me the deal does not stack. Heh, I hate how different EB's have different policies... oh well.
 
I went to 2 different ebs both said it does not stack.


However it is 25% off all used games. So its pretty cheap. I got a xbox a year replacement plan and 6 games for 77$ after taxes.

amazon.ca restocked some boxing week stuff. There's a couple of new things too. Nothing spectacular though. The $25 pink/blue controllers were back in stock. Blue ones sold out. There's still some pink one's left. I should get one, if only to prove that I am comfortable with my manliness. *Flexes muscles* *twitch* *bulge* *manly*
 
Checked out a couple malls today.

London Drugs had a few $2.99 and $9.99 PC games (Lineage II, X-Men Legends II, Marvel UA). I saw some $9.99 360 games (PGR3, Wartech) and old PS3 sports games for $19.99. Didn't really dig though.

Toys R Us has 50% off all PC software $19.99 and up until Jan. 11. Selection was pretty poor, but they might restock. I wonder if GHIII for PC qualifies.

Staples has a bunch of $9.99 games: all last-gen though.
 
Didn't really feel like hitting all the stores yesterday.

Hopefully some worthwhile deals are still going on/have stock today. Time to look for scraps. :(

I was at Superstore yesterday and they had The Darkness on 360 for $19.98 or something around that. I picked up two copies, and there were tons there. (I only bought 2 because I'm giving one as a gift). So if anyone missed that one, check it out. It's short, but it's worth $20.
 
The HDMI cable I got from the Superstore is made by a company called C2TECH. It says PS3 1.2 HDMI CABLE. I did some research, and although the industry is already at 1.3b version, this simple 1.2 still does the job nicely.

I hooked both my Xbox360 and PS3 with this cable to my Sony S3000 Bravia 32", and the visual difference between HDMI and my ordinary connectors blew me away~! And all this time I had put down HDMI as a marketing ploy to make consumers buy it. Man, was I wrong.

You could buy a more expensive type of cable, but the whole HDMI cable thing is still in its infancy. Eventually, all the expensive type of cables will go down in price, so pick this one up in the meantime if you want to save some money.

By the way, the company who made this used some pretty strong twist ties when I unwound them from the cable (the cable is wound up in circular fashion). So strong in fact that the twist ties made some grooves around the areas of the cable it was securing. At first it made me feel upset, but still it did its job (especially for $6.98). Another thing you might find odd is that some areas of the cable that I was unwinding had kind of a melted look to it at certain points where it looked like some type of heating or extreme pressure was applied. So that was another annoyance that bothered me but thats what you get for buy cheap 2nd hand HDMI cable.

All in all, it does its job. When prices go down for the 1.3+ versions, then I'll get those.
 
I only got my HDTV yesterday dude. I was fine with CRT but I decided to make the plunge for an HDTV. So I finally saw the light and moved myself from the dark ages to the modern era~! :)

Isn't it wild? PS3 and 360 games are made to be played in HD, it's an amazing jump.

At first when I tried out Gears I wasn't impressed, thinking "WTF? This doesn't look anywhere-near as cool as I've seen at a friend's place". Then I realized my Xbox 360 was still outputting in 480p. Then I changed it to 1080i...

MY GOD! Specifically, Eternal Sonata is just awesome in HD. D:
 
I can confirm that Atlantic Superstore did not have (m)any of these deals. I was in two of them, and neither had the SIXAXIS deal, nor the camera deals. :cry:

Mass Effect and Uncharted will make you feel good about spending all that money.

Superstore's distributer messed up and shipped them crappy third party controllers instead of sixaxis =/
 
Did anyone pick up that 42" 1080p TV for $897 from Wal-Mart? I was tempted, to see what it was like.

My best and ony boxing day pickup was NHL 2003 for $1.99. It was a collectors item, as it had Iggy on the cover. I'll probably never open it.

I was going to get the $19.99 BD remote for PS3, but I forgot the BB flyer in the car, and the FS salesdink said I needed a copy of the flyer. I said if I have to go to my car, I ain't coming back.

Well I hope everyone else a had a sweet boxing week.
