Went into BestBuy just now to, you know... uh, guarantee that I would find an accidentally misplaced copy of MK vs DCU for Boxing Day :whistle2:\"

My plan was foiled since they don't have any of the game on the floor, just a card for the game. Lots of boxes that say Boxing Day all over the place too, could barely walk down the main aisles

Anyone hear of loblaws?

A couple of years ago they had the "bin" half off. Last year they had a bin o flow quality games (lot of movie ones), didn't look like they sold any, they weren't on sale afterwards, and the entire bin just disappeared from the store. The selection is a little better this year, all old games, but I'd get some at half off.

Amazed that HMV has significantly better pricing on games then the rest, but I wonder how few copies they'll have.
 
If everything goes right:

HMV quickly before work if possible.
Work 11 - 7 (with HMV during break hoping oh so strongly to still find LBP and PoP)
Future Shop at about 7:30 just before close to pick up my bi-annual usb stick Boxing Day upgrade

Good for HMV. Its nice to see stores actually rock Boxing Day.
I hope my dad can nab GHIII at Best Buy. He's dropping me off for 6, so we'll be there at opening. Shouldn't be a problem.

If anybody is stopping by BB in Hamilton, I'll be in the PS3 section from 6-11 (am).

I know this is on short notice, but I was wondering if I go online for Best Buy's sale, and put something in my cart, will it be removed if the other people put in their shipping info and checkout before I can? Or is that item mine until I decide to take it out of my cart? Thanks for the help.

With other stuff they show how much they have for the sales and will probably restock those numbers in a couple of days. With the Blu-Rays I looked at it just seems like they don't have them at all other than one of them that showed one in stock for the quantity they have for the sale.

all i'm getting from best buy is a 1080p upconverting dvd player for my mom, and reservior dogs on blu for myself. i'm currently waiting in the checkout queue. online shopping has been pretty smooth thus far.

i think my plan is to head out early on the 26th, check out the $10 blu-rays at walmart, try to get a copy of littlebigplanet at hmv, and then check out the used game sales at eb.

edit: i caved and checked out futureshop online. i picked up old school and firefly on blu. hurray for impulse buys. $30 for firefly is pretty darn good though.

i was at 0% for a while, and i've gone up to 10% in the last three min or so.

I was in queue...got up to ~60%, and my original cart was replaced with a TV and printer...:roll:

Managed to get through the best buy waiting room no problems. It tends to stay at 0% for awhile then shoots up to 100% once the bar starts moving.

Well other than the Blu-Rays on Future Shop that were never in stock at all I got what I wanted.... Fracture for 360 --- Not listed under the deals but it is $19.99 as well and not just the PS3 version --- , WOW Battle Chest for PC, the three $9.99 Blu-Rays Best Buy has and the 8GB Touch Screen Samsung media player for somebody else. Despite the site always crashing and the checkout problems I always seem to get what I want from Future Shop and Best Buy.... granted there usually isn't much I want from them. Took about 37 minutes this year so while slow and the one crash at the start it was a better experience than usual with their sites :applause:

And yeah once the checkout thing finally started moving it wasn't too bad. Think they might have forgot to enable it at first when everybody was stuck at 0%.
 
definite kudos to best buy and future shop for streamlining the whole online order process. previous years where i've ordered it's been a nightmare. the only part of the checkout that gave me a bit of trouble was the verified by visa page that comes up just before step 5 of check in.
 
If Fracture is in store at 19.99 on the 360, I'll probably pick it up. I'll forget it if I end up getting a computer speaker set.

Yeah, I think this is the first time in the history of ever it didn't just explode outright. Even with the queuing system in place last year it melted down. Satisfactory performance good sirs, golf clapping and dry liquor all around.


Anyone find any MS point deals yet? :)

Note: The Hillcrest Mall EB has tonnes of Rockband 2-- all of them labeled "not for sale, pre-orders". So don't hold your breath there.
 
Bought the Kingston 16GB SDHC for $19.99 and the Kingston 4gb micro SDHC for $9.99 online from Futureshop. I could've bought them on Boxing Day but each store only has 100 of each.

Going to buy Link's Crossbow Training for $9.99 at EB on Boxing Day. Not sure what else. The EB near my house is tiny, so I'll have to wait in line probably.
