very light day for me, nothing at Rogers, headed to Microplay at picked up six games (they had Buy 2 Get 1 Free on used titles)

Microplay
- Dead Rising (360)
- Mass Effect (360)
- Battlefield: Bad Company (360)
- Turok (360)
- Universe at War (360)
- Dragon Quest: Swords (Wii)

averaged out to about $16 each after tax, boxing day turned out real light due to all the great deals in November/December, very happy I have three pay periods in January to help pay the bills from those months :)

Does anyone know of a place to get an xbox360 arcade system for less than 199$ after boxing day? It seems they are only putting the prices down on the pro and elite systems. Should I just give up or still look?
I'm taking a quick breather at work an I'm astonished at how many people by full price stuff on Boxing Day.
+1.

I walked into my EB games yesterday and found numerous people buying used games that weren't even on sale thinking they struck a deal. I guess Boxing Day is really just an excuse to spend money at will for anything you want.

I had to work yesterday (at a clothing store, my first week at this place and only my second job ever and I never experienced anything like that!!), but I was surprised to see people buying clothes at full price. I think they just assumed that since it was boxing day, they were getting a deal.

By the time I got off work most places were closed, so I couldn't get in on any deals. All I wanted was the Classic Controller from EB, and maybe Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 from the Walmart bins.....but it's ok. I was too tired to see if Walmart was open and to battle against the crowds. I already bought No More Heroes/Zack and Wiki for $10 from the Source a little while ago, so I was happy I didn't have to fight the boxing day crowd to get them. Maybe I could check Walmart later on during the week to see if they still have Rabbids 2.

i got beat up at walmart :(
i was trying to get armored core for answer, and reservoir dogs on bluray, but i got pushed to the floor and kicked.
people are disgusting violent assholes.

I left the house at 5:30 a.m. This year I was after blurays to try to build that collection a little. I did pretty well, this was my haul:

Firefly Complete Series bluray (Futureshop - $30)
Shrek 3 bluray (Futureshop - $15)
Tomb Raider bluray (Bestbuy - $15)
Fantastic Four bluray (Bestbuy - $15)
Love Guru bluray (Walmart - $10)
Sweeny Todd bluray (Walmart - $10)
Usual Suspects bluray (Rogers - $15)
Tropic Thunder PPV bluray (Rogers B2G1F - $15)
Wanted PPV bluray (Rogers B2G1F - $15)
Narnia Prince Caspian PPV bluray (Rogers B2G1F - $15)

For games I still managed to get the following:

Halo 3 (Toys R Us - $20)
Gears 1 (Toys R Us - $10)
Smash Court Tennis 3 (Walmart - $10)
Moto GP 08 (Walmart - $30)
Puzzle Quest DS (Walmart - $10)
Harvest Moon Puzzle DS (Walmart - $10)
Disgaea DS (Amazon.ca - $20)
Etrian Odyssey 2 DS (Amazon.ca - $20)
Summon Night Twin Age DS (Amazon.ca - $13)

All in all I'm very happy with what I came home with. I didn't really have a boxing day budget, was just in the mood to shop! It was much less busy than previous years, hardly any lineups everywhere I went. Christmas spirit was alive and well when I saw a miserable lady in Best Buy make another lady cry for accidentaly bumping in to her with a shopping cart, it was nasty; but overall people and retail staff were all really plesant.

Thanks to all the CAGs who contributed to the deals available!

Re: Loblaws. It looks like they have about $10 off all games. Which is good if you want to get a PS3 game for $49.99, but not good if you want a Gamecube game for $49.99. (Someone at Loblaws head office needs to reprice those).

ALTHOUGH-- okay, this is weird. I've been through the bargin bin in my Loblaws several times. Thoroughly. Today I went in for a laugh, and sitting right there, on top of the pile not even hidden-- Eternal Darkness. For $4. (insert HOLY SHAQING SHAQ smiley face here). I have no clue how that hadn't been snatched up over the last two days, but I'm not arguing. Early birthday present for my friend who is extremely jealous that I found a copy of it for my 8 Day of Gaming.

Everything else was meh. No-name PS2 controllers for $5 (picked one up for Obscure). $5 PS2 S-video + audio cables. $10 optical audio cables. No HDMI cables, so I'll just got to Factorydirect and get a $8.88 one. Everything else was picked over.

Lots of good decorations and lighting if you're into that. I picked up a bunch of red strip lighting to use in next year's halloween haunt

wtf?! That is seriously fucked up. I avoid the stores simply because I'm not a huge fan of crowds, but I didn't think it'd get to that level. That's pathetic!

On the other hand, I went to Rogers (knew it wouldn't be crazy) and got DiRT for $10 (2/$20), so I'm happy with that. I'll probably have to go back and get Dark Knight on DVD for the B1G1.

But the important thing is, did you get Armored Core and Reservoir Dogs? I kid, I kid. At least you weren't trampled to death like that poor Wal-Mart employee in the US. People sicken me, sometimes.

Or maybe its the only day of the year people have money they can actually spend... Just a thought

So my haul for Boxing day this year:

Best Buy
Kill Bill vol.1/2 bluray ($10 each)
8 gig Pro Duo ($30)
Xbox 360 Pro (Falcon) with 60 gig HDD

Edward Scissorhands Bluray (used points to take 10 bucks off; $5)
Exit DS ($15)
CrossworDS (part of 2/20; used points to take 10 bucks off)
Chocobo Tales (read above)

Pretty big, but I'm still missing a few, so I'm hoping to get the rest of them tomorrow
pretty please ... ? :|

RCSS:
Hour of Victory 360
LOST 360
Operation Darkness 360
~$9.50 each

NBA 2K9 360 $16.99

Walmart:
DBZ Burst Limit 360 x 2
Alone in the Dark 360 /w T-shirt x 2
Sonic the Hedgehog 360 (yeah yeah... buying Sonic Unleashed made me want to own this piece of junk...)
Full Auto 2 PS3
PoP Rival Swords Wii
~9.50 each

Ninjabread Man Wii $7.41
Rave Master GCN x 2 $2.46 each
BATTLEFIELD: BAD COMPANY 360 $2.46 (?!?!?!)

well, the xrays show that i broke my collarbone when i hit the floor at walmart, do you think i'd be able to sue? so much for getting any bargains games this year :(

Went to Best Buy on Boxing Day to pick up Call of Duty WaW and the place was so packed I didn't even bother. Me and my gf walked in saw the line, told my gf that I'd just come back tomorrow and get it if they still had it, walked out. I came back yesterday morning around noon and the place was empty as if it was a normal day. Just strolled up the the games got my copy, went to the till, paid, left. No pushing, shoving, or lines.

I worked Staples for Boxing Day. Place was pretty well dead as expected. Except for a small rush at the morning where about a dozen people lined up. For what reason I have no idea since our deals are pretty mediocre compared to everyone else. As mentioned before, people buy a ton of stuff that's not even on Boxing Day clearance. Guy came in a bought 3 old open box computers. No discount on them except regular clearance pricing since they're discontinued models. Thought he stuck gold.
well, the xrays show that i broke my collarbone when i hit the floor at walmart, do you think i'd be able to sue? so much for getting any bargains games this year :(
Damn man! I don't know if you really can, but you could give it a shot. I'd at least see if the Walmart would look at the security tapes, because there has to be something you can do. Take it to the police and I'm sure they'd have to do something.

I don't know a lot about our law system, but I'm sure you'd be able to sue.
Its always wonderful when somebody goes after WalMart, and you have a 100% legitimate reason.
Hope you heal up soon!

I'd suggest calling the police (non-emergency line) and see what they say. It's definitely illegal to break someone's collar bone, so they really would be the best ones to answer this for you. Good luck getting everything sorted out, and hopefully the bastard that did this get's in some sort of shit for it.

On a change of topic.... damn, I forgot to check Walmart for DBZ Burst Limit!

@Nukkus - it is sad to see people who resort to violence just for a sale. Reminds me of the Walmart Black Friday incident where an employee was unfortunately trampled to death.

Truth be told, calling the police isn't going to result in anything. You should have filed a police report immediately after, not three days or more. As it stands, Wal-Mart didn't do anything wrong. You fell through the act of another individual, and were injured. It's an accident, plain and simple. If you could prove that you were purposefully harmed, then the next matter is finding someone to take the blame, and I don't think it would be Wal-Mart, but hey, I could be way off the mark. Regardless, I hope all works out for you nukkus!

Probably already been mentioned but BB has select games for $44.99:

NHL 09
Mirror's Edge
Saint's Row 2
Need for Speed: Undercover
Tomb Raider Underworld
Shaun White Snowboarding
WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009

I picked up Mirror's Edge and Saint's Row 2.

Walmart had the Madden bundle for $150. The one I went to on boxing day was sold out by 1:30 so they were offering the Ratchet and Clank bundle instead.

My brother was at Metrotown TRU and he was lucky enough to find that they ran out of Dualshock 3 controllers so the manager there just sold him the PS3 at the $350 pricetag with no strings attached..

Too bad my friend who got there an hour later found out that it got sold out

lol merry christmas to you now can play more ps3 if you didnt have it already
haha and cleared the store of those bulky foreman grills/vcr collecting dust anyway
when will they release a slim version ?

I ended up buying Rayman Ravings Rabbids 2 for $9.99 at HMV yesterday, so at least I got something out of boxing week. ;)

its not boxing day related but all Buzz games including the ones with the buzzers have dropped to 25$ or less at futureshop and the games dropped as well.

Also singstar games and bundles have dropped too the most notable being the PS3 red bundle went from 59 to 44.

My final (?) boxing week haul was today. I went to Buffalo and bought MKvsDCU for $40 at Target. It's a roundabout way of paying the BestBuy boxing day price, but I'm satisfied with the price even considering tax and exchange rate :)

I also bought R6V2 at BB a few days ago for $19.99, and got an email today from Blockbuster saying saying they have it for $9.99. Only the XBox360 version is shown, so I will have to investigate to see if it also counts for the PS3.

As an aside, the email shows EndWar at $29.99 and Assassin's Creed for $14.99 (both X360). I don't think AC is a great price, but maybe EndWar is for someone. The sale goes until Jan 9th.

Rogers 2/$20:

The Orange Box PS3
Space Chimps 360
WWE Smackdown 2008 360
Twisted Metal: Head-On Remix PS2
GTA VCS PS2
Megaman X Collection PS2

Also grabbed The Dark Knight and Wanted Blu-rays for 20 rewards points each! :D
A friend picked up Halo 3 ($19 CAD) and GTA IV ($39 CAD) for me from Vancouver. Decent prices?

He couldn't find CoD4 and GoW2 :(
It's a great price for Halo 3 (though lots of places seems to be that price right now), as it's definitely one of the best games on the system. $40 is good for GTA too, but if you don't mind it used you can find it at most Rogers for their 2/$40 sale.

Picked up a handful of more things from Rogers the other day:

FFTactics: War of the Lions (half of 2/20)
God of War 2 (other half)
FF6 Advance (10)
Also grabbed The Dark Knight and Wanted Blu-rays for 20 rewards points each! :D
Used or new? I have some points leftover and I'm more than interested in further increasing my broo-ray library.

I caved and bought an XBox 360 from Best Buy. Too good a price to pass up without having to wait a long while for another price cut. Now I am a Wii360 owner and can enjoy a full range of games. :applause:
