Just elaborating for those not overtly familiar with the JPN rating system, that we all know extremely well. ;) :) And no I'm not being sarcastic, just playful. :lol:

I looked a bit into some of the other trailers and game art, and I think that's about all we're going to see partial nudity, but with all of the naughty bits omitted or obscured. I think a lot of the hubbub over things comes from ignorance over what the game is and isn't (most people think it's an RPG...)

I wouldn't expect to see much more that stuff like this or non-explicit coupling as shown in the teaser trailer, I'll be surprised if I'm wrong, but as I said I just don't see Atlus JPN trying to push the boundaries on a game like this.

Plus Atlus US released Mara in DS2, and that came (err...) and went without too much fuss, so umm, I think I'll just stop. :lol:

I agree entirely. My suspicion is that we've seen all there is to see in the trailer. That is, Catherine straddling Vincent in bed, but with various household items blocking anything specific.
 
Confirmed for Summer 2011. Just got the e-mail from Atlus.

The picture shows the original Japanese cover art which surprises me a little. I thought it might be a little too risque.

That usually is the case (in regards to film quality) due to lack of compression with all that extra disc space.
 
Sadly, that's enough reason for me to get the PS3 version, just like FFXIII.

Also, buying Atlus games on the 360 seems kind of off to me, heh.

The Xbox 360 has problems playing 1080p video with medium to high bit rate. PS3 does not have that problem. Of course there are other factors like disc space that Saint Noir mention. Now I don't know if the game is presented in 1080 format or 720.
 
damn another game to buy but im glad its coming out here. have they confirmed whether it will allow for jap voices with english subs?

Pre-ordered at Amazon. Looking forward to an update that includes the artbook/OST pre-order bonus hopefully.
 
Atlus dubbed games have always been the best in the industry, so I wouldn't mind however if the game is based in Japan, japanese language and subs is a must.
 
I'm glad they left the boxart alone as I really like it... but now I realize how embarassing it'd be to go into a store and buy it. Amazon might be the best way to go about it. XD
 
Knowing Atlus tho, it could be if the game sells above expectations. Course Atlus seems to have gotten their heads out of their asses and are reprinting their games now.

Boxart has NEVER stopped or embarrassed me from buying a game. Hell, I even bought the Agarest LE for 360 from Aksys' AnimeExpo stand, and paraded around with pride.

As I posted a page or two back, it'll be mild, don't expect full on boobs like GoW3, DNF or Heavy Rain, it'll be more innuendo based, strategically placed items blocking the naughty bits, if they show more I'd be surprised, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Atlus is trolling hard with this game according to the title of the newest email I just got from them:

Title: Atlus has no plans at this time to release Catherine screenshots

Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today denied releasing new screenshots and a teaser trailer for Catherine, the upcoming HD mature romantic thriller game from the makers of Persona, for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

"You can't believe every little rumor you hear out there on the internets," stated Crystal Murray, Atlus PR Specialist. "The internet's a big series of tubes, and sometimes when everyone's trying to download their emails at the same time, some of the stuff goes into the wrong tube."

You're correct, sir. There's someone on the forum I regular that has played through the Japanese version of the game. He says that the trailers and promotion for the game has, quite frankly, dooped the consumer. The actual game isn't all that sexual in comparison, and he says if anyones expecting this game to be then they're going to be very disappointed. He also dropped the bombshell that the game actually has a villain, but the revelation is very downplayed, almost hilariously so.

So yeah, if you only wanna play this game cause you're expecting, ahem, 'adult content' then you might just wanna play some of the other games around with that stuff. People should have known this just from the game not being Cero Z.
