Given the huge number of Florida CAGs on this board now, it seems like a good time to start pooling our knowledge to make the most of our time (and gas!).

I'll get things started...I'll try to keep this updated as new info is posted. If you have any info on Florida stores that you'd like to share, please post it here!

Best Buy
Altamonte Springs (SR 436): still some $10 games as of 9/13; no Y's or Paper Mario [mgreig]
Gainesville (Archer Road): limited stock, bad customer service [Msia]

Miami (Hialeah): This is a pretty decent store. One of the original BB in Miami and still has a great selection and relatively good customer service. [s3v3n777]

Orlando (Florida Mall): Decent selection, disinterested staff. [kojubat]
Orlando (West Colonial): Good selection, sale games are usually clearly marked and gathered during clearances. Helpful staff. [kojubat]

What's crackin' boys and girls.....SW FLA represent. I'm always in Orlando too. The Naples BB is usually pretty shitty. Fort Myers aint so hot either. I like this thread though. I'll be here often for the SW to post stuff I find and look for hook-ups.

After reading the previous post, I can say that I never thought to advertise trades/sales/questions on here.
If it's okay, i think that we should do that. I think that this is a good way for us FL CAG's to be even cheaper by not paying ANYTHING for games by trading with eachother.
If someone can post the procedure for making a trade list, i'll make one up for myself to make the process a little easier.
So, I'll start it off:
I'm looking for Castlevania Bloodlines for the Genesis. Name your price.
I was curious if anyone in the Orlando area wants to buy my PSP? Check out the info here: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69018 If you do end up buying it, I will shave off $25 since I won't have to ship it to anywhere.
Have you thought about trading it in for store credit? That's what I did...I got $170 for the system (GS), $8 for the Memory Stick (GR), and $8 (I think) for the Spidey UMD. Not quite the $200 you're asking, but close...especially if the money is going to go towards a 360 anyway ;-)

Doesn't seem like there's a lot of interest in the PSP right now...it's definitely a buyer's market with the number of people trying to dump them. I don't miss mine at all - thank God for the DS.

Hey guys, you know how I told you that they were building a circuit city across from waterford lakes town center, right? Well, I was wrong. It has already been built and it seems as if it has already open, I can't really tell though. Just thought I would let you know.

Where is the building? All I see is the sign out front, underneath the Kohls sign. I had no idea it was built already. I just passed by there the other day and didn't see anything indicating it was open. Maybe I'll have to drive by there again sometime. I'm under the impression that only Kohls has been built so far (which that is not even open yet I don't think).

Kohl's is having its grand opening (huge sign). I passed by on Monday morning and my mom noticed that they put up the huge circuit city logo on the front part of the building. I think they are training their staff right now, so they should be opening up incredibly soon.

Has anyone had any luck finding clearance games which Target has dumped to a thrift store? A lot of the guys on the Target Deals thread mention this happening at their local Targets, but I haven't seen any evidence of this happening in Central Florida.

I stopped by the Circuit City across from Waterford Lakes today. It doesn't appear to be open yet. I walked up to the automatic door and it opened up, but I just saw bare shelves and workers running around getting the store ready. I'm guessing it will be open very soon and that they will put up grand opening signs like Kohls has done. I checked out Kohls just for the heck of it while I was there. It's pretty nice and they seem to have a big selection. I'll have to go back because I've been meaning to get some new clothes, but I hate to drive out to the local malls.

The KMart I mentioned at Coralwood Mall in Cape Coral has sinced turned into a Sears Essentials and isn't worth the ga srpices to even drive there.

Just a notice for anyone thinking of going to the Citrus Park KB for the video game sale. They had tons of Madden, Pac Pix, Tiger Woods, and Polarium for DS, no PSP games.

As for the other consoles, it was 90% sports, they had none of the $1 games, few of the $5. Only decent non-sports i saw were RE: Outbreak, Van Helsing & RE: Dead Aim

I've got a Suikoden III for sale or trade. The insert is messed up in the back and the disc is in typical used condition (with noticable scratches and marks) but it still works. $15. I also may be willing to sell a MVC 2 for PS2.... PM if interested in either.

Orlando-area CAGs...don't bother with the Altamonte KB. Total shite left - just a bunch of banged-up GBA games for $5 or $10...nothing at all worth picking up.

Update: Circuit City at Waterford Lakes will have it's grand opening on November 10. I was shopping at Kohls next-door and noticed the sign with the date on the front of the CC building. I'll have to try to go there on the 10th.

Don't bother with the Lakeland store(if anybody is even in this area). Hardly anything ever there. They still have a few GT items but nothing worth getting out of the house for. I think they've already end the buy 2 get one as well. I also think they ship a lot of the stuff they don't sell out to other stores. Once I came in and they had plenty of crappy titles. A week later they only had about 1 to 3 copies of ALL titles. (the shelves looked VERY clean).

I live in the Lutz area, close to USF. Here's some of my tips for fellow CAG'ers:

From my experience, the Wal-Mart Supercenter in New Tampa is a great place to buy games, DVDs, and other entertainment... It's so much larger than other stores in the area and has a great selection. They stock high quantities when a new release comes out. Now I'm not a Wal-Mart lover, but this store is pretty exceptional and worth checking out. All the staff working there are helpful and seem like they love their job... I don't think they sell strategy guides, though.

The SuperTarget located nearby (New Tampa) has poor selection of games and the staff are lazy. Their strategy guides blow, and they stock low quantities. Don't bother.

Most college gamers in the USF area tend to shop at the EBGames store at University Mall and anything good that comes in the morning restock is usually gone by lunch time. Pretty good PS2 selection. They have a good stock of strategy guides, too... Some are cheap. The week before they are about to toss a guide, they do slap a $1.99-$2.99 sticker on it. They sell out of new games within the first 3 hours if title is popular enough. You cannot get a new release on the 1st week of launch if you don't reserve it early.

The Circuit City in New Tampa is just "o.k.". Decent stock. Their staff is snotty. I have caught them making several mistakes tagging prices before, usually in the customer's favor, so keep this is mind... you might get lucky!

Ah, I was gonna check them out too. I figured they wouldn't of had anything good. They never do.

golbex, you said the Wal-Mart people seem to ENJOY their job? That's a super rare type of Wal-Mart.

ugh, avoid BB on Kendall and 122nd. The people there are a huge pain in the ass and i leave w/ a headahce everytime. Anybody know of any decent small/pawn shops in the miami area?

In case anyone's interested. The Northdale Target (Tampa) has the following clearanced games:

PC: Half Live Platinum - $13.99
XBX: Elder Scrolls: Game of the Year - $6.98
PSP: Lumines - $26, World Tour Soccer - $20, Mercury - $13.99
DS: Sprung - $9.99, Feel The Magic - $9.99

there were some other deals, but i cant remember them off the top of my head.

Circuit City Waterford Lakes Grand Opening Today

I just got back from a trip to the store. It was pretty packed, but overall I think the layout and look is really nice.

There were a couple of today only specials, such as the 10% coupon shown below (it was handed out at the door). They were also doing a drawing for prizes such as a Nintendo DS.

I didn't find any real video game deals, which is to be expected for a brand new store. I did, though, find a Holiday Buying Guide in the video game section that included the coupons shown below.

Dammit I was so busy helping my parents out, I completely forgot about the grand opening. It would have been nice to have been in the drawing to win some prizes.

Ah, so that was what those spotlights were for. After class, I made a quickie BestBuy run just for Karaoke Revolution Party. And because I'm a FOX Thursday Night whore, straight back home. Oh well. They really shouldn't do Grand Openings on non-weekend days. It's not as if Grand Openings always have to be on the first day of business.

I saw one guy who I could have sworn was a CAG, based on the way he was walking around the video game section and eyeing all the prices (like I was). I'm like I wonder if that's somebody from here. ;)

Copying my earlier post from the Target Clearance thread, in case anyone missed it...

Orange City, FL - saw a ton of new clearance stuff yesterday. Don't know where it all came from. Some of the ones I remember offhand...

As a I posted in the CompUSA clearance topic, in Tally there are multiple X-Box games on clearance. The clearance table is next to the door.

The Super Target in Waterford Lakes has an insane stack of Donkey Konga 2's (no bongos, game only  ) for ~$25. Hopefully they'll continue dropping, but I've never seen any killer clearance deals at this store.

Just out out of curiosity, how many of you in the Orlando area are getting an Xbox 360? If so, from where are you going to get it?

I pre-ordered my 360 in July from a GameStop in Sanford/Lake Mary, and they just told me on the weekend that I won't be getting one until the second shipment - insane! Guess I should have gone with GameRush...oh well.
Just out out of curiosity, how many of you in the Orlando area are getting an Xbox 360? If so, from where are you going to get it?
I'm getting mine from GameRush, specifically the one in Kissimmee.

Thanks for the info Legolas. I'm just wondering how early I'm going to have to get to "insert store name here" to get one. I'm guessing I'm gonna have camp overnight. I'm hoping for a REALLY cold night to scare some people off, lol.

Alright all my Tampa friends. I just returned from Tallahassee and hit up the infamous pawn shop route. Here is what I picked up -

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Complete X-Box - $13
Madden 06 PS2 Complete - $10 - selling it to a friend for cost plus gas
Dead Or Alive 3 w/ generic green case and no manual - $1
Dark Summit Complete - $1
Tony Hawk Underground 2 Complete NGC - $2
Thousand Arms Complete w/card and Memory card stickers - $19 (this was from an EB)

I left some good games behind. The EZ Pawn on Busch and the corner of Hills and Nebraska is have $1 and $2 sales. I left two X-Box complete copies of NBA 2K5 at one (2 copies) along with some other B.S. games and at another I left a Agent Under Fire, Soul Caliber 2 (not complete), and a Red Fraction along with other games. Outside of the MvC2 I bought, there wasn't any other rares, although I did see 2 "original" PS2 GTA San Andreas for $10 apiece. As for DVDs, many value pawns are having 5 for 15-20 dollar DVD sales. Titles vary but almost every value pawn has a large selection that includes a lot of recently released titles. I would've cleaned up on this but I am going to the Tampa Area Comic Con this Sunday so I need a few bucks for that. The Soup Nazi is going to be there!

Thanks for the notice, ive been meaning to go up to the Ez Pawn on Neb/Hills, they always have good stuff. I need to get as much stuff for trade ins as i can, i dont wanna go broke buying all these xbox 360 games, lol.
There's been a Cubivore at EB in University Mall in Tampa. Unfortunately it's 40 dollars. I would have gotten it if it was 20 or something.
Cubivore has been quite easy to find after the recent reprint. All of my local EB's now have at least one used copy in stock.
Just out out of curiosity, how many of you in the Orlando area are getting an Xbox 360? If so, from where are you going to get it?
If anywhere, I'd get it from BestBuy so I can get RewardZone points. I kinda want one for its gadget factor, but I don't have Windows MCE, so there goes some great media streaming capabilities. Also, raised prices aside, I don't know what's interesting coming up after launch. So my biggest reason to actually buy one is the eBay factor, but I don't think it's worth the effort.

Man, this really sucks! I was watching the news and saw that Tropical Storm Gamma is going to hit southern florida. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but a cold front is going to come through and the mixture of the two is going to cause some nasty weather here (tornados possible). This is seriously going to jeapordize my chances of getting a 360.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

This is another reason why i am glad I left after my 3 year college tour in Miami, FL from 98-01 ... we never had anything like this before..
yea i know.... its funny how this is gonna happen apparently on the 360 launch..
Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I saw a forecast on the news earlier tonight that TS Gamma was just going to dissolve into a low pressure system and that most of the storms were gone out of it.

You are correct. It's a depression and still degrading.
