Deals usually end on close of business on Monday and begin on open Tuesday (some special ones do start on Thursday usually around labor day, memorial day, etc.)

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must be 18 and have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush. If you are not 18, you can trade under a parent or guardian's BB acount, but they must sign a trade agreement.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by "flipping" games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to. Remember, discussion of "loopholes" and "flipping" should be kept in the thread linked at the beginning of this post. We've all had a year's worth of discussion on the ethics of capitalizing on the loopholes, but the fact remains - you sign a Trading Agreement and are subject to the conditions you agreed upon. If you abuse the system, chances are it'll catch up to you one way or another.

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

i asked my local game rush manager about the new deals and he said there would be a couple in july then i asked for details but he said he could not tell me but he said they were good but not as good as the current/old deals
 
went around to some GRs tonight and they are officially dead at some southern california locations as of tomorrow. all the signage is down, and another replaced it, which was get up to $35 trade in credit for games. i am kind of upset since i saw a batman begins on gamecube already that i wanted to pick up. o well, my backlog of games should do me mine for now.

OK, if that's true (and I'm not questioning your source or anything) it is very wierd that they would kill it early, only to bring it back 10 days later. Wouldn't surprise me though, with the way things have gone so far at GR :D.

maybe gamerush will bring back the deals around october or november and be able to get $60 games for $40 w/ 2 trades. that would be awesome.

1. when does the graphite version come out in america

I can answer this - but this is why I *really* think the preorder lists should go into the OP - especially if they really bring the deal back (in July or whenever). The DS preorder list I have as of June 9th has Castlevania and Viewtiful Joe, but not the rest (and no Animal Crossing, Metroid - either Hunters or Pinball, and neither Super Mario or Mario & Luigi - 2 different games there). They do have a Casino game and a freaking BASS FISHING game on the preorder list though (the latter for a mid-Nov release - reserve yours now!). Really the only other one that interests me is Age of Empires. That *could* be a great touchscreen game if done right.

In just the last few days, though, they have added a few preorders. For example, they fixed the DS Burnout title to "Burnout Legends" and added the PSP version. They also added Mario Baseball and a few others to the GC list. So they might have added some DS titles as well. I figured most of those will be $30-$40 anyway so it isn't worth it to preorder them. I preordered Kirby (which retails for $35) but that was back when I could double-dip with the $5 bonus deal - that was definitely worth it :D. Of course, the other reason to preorder is that my GR, in any case, doesn't get many of the DS games. Besides the Kirby I preordered they have not gotten any more for sale, so I'm definitely glad I did it.
 
thanks for the info. im thinking of getting a DS. ill probably buy it at Gamestop since it i can get a free copy of mario 64 there, and i will buy kirby and warioware from gamerush probably (wish they had them used). anyone know when the graphite ds will come out in america? also, can you get the platnimum ds with the free mario 64? thanks for the help on the games IO. ill be preordering VJ:VFX Battle and Castlevania. surprised they dont have nintendogs. they have to have meteos in the system since it is out next week, right?

I don't know, Meteos is not on the list, but maybe it is because it is a $29.99 title? The list (from June 9th) had Kirby and GoldenEye on it, so it is not because it is being released so soon. Even if a game is a $29.99 title someone might want to do a regular preorder on ot just to reserve one, so it *should* be there, but they are a little flaky with their Gamecube and DS preorders. The lists I have also have 7 GBA games available for preorder but I didn't bother listing those (3 of them are Mega Man titles).

You know, I just thought of something - I wonder if, in the DS case, the preorder list is meant to be for titles that the stores won't carry otherwise? In other words, you have to preorder them to get them at all. The reason this might be the case is that the list consists mostly of the more obscure upcoming DS titles and leaves off almost all the bigger names (Nintendogs, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, the other Mario games, Metroid, etc). If that is the case I'll have to consider preordering Age of Empires if the deal comes back - of just straight up preorder it if it is a $29.99 game.

I had to go to Best Buy to get Revenge of the Sith and Pac-Pix (luckily they had that $10 off 2 DS title sale coinciding with a sale on ROTS - so I got them for $45 combined). That was the first time I've gone somewhere other than GR to get a newly released game since December! They really need to reassess their support of the DS and GBA. They don't have the new Fire Emblem or the new Yoshi for GBA and never got more than 1 copy of GBA Lego Star Wars (which sold before I got there) - which I would buy in a heartbeat at full price at GR. Come to think of it, I don't think they even have a copy of WarioWare Twisted. But maybe this is just my local GR...
 
i hope GR gets a good amount of DS games. im excited to get a DS. seems like a totally different experience, and is much cheaper than owning a PSP. ill be getting a DS, mario 64, warioware touched, and kirby for like $210. amazing deal. and with chaos theory and meteos next week, ill be busy for a little bit. should be great to take to the boston area this summer :)

The DS is great. I also have a PSP and like that as well. I took the DS on my last business trip and almost finished Mario 64 during that trip. I'm (almost!) looking forward to my next cross-country trip so I can finish Mario 64 and play through Pac-Pix and Kirby (I've started both but tend not to spend too much time on the DS at home). Oh, and ROTS too which I haven't even opened :D. My GR had a few used copies of Warioware for a while but I think they sold during the $5 deal. Now all they have is Feel the Magic and Mario 64 (used that is). I did get my Mario 64 used from there a few months back though, along with The Urbz - another game I haven't touched (no pun intended) yet.
 
my GR i normally go to had a used mario 64, spiderman 2, madden 2005, polarium, and i think that was it, . how is feel the magic (if you own it). also, is it worth buying both warioware twisted and warioware touched? thanks for all the help so far. ill check my other gamerush. i might be able to get warioware (either one) and kirby used (highly doubt it). i think ill pass on yoshi since there is no replay value. ill get like 3 games once i buy it

I haven't played Feel the Magic or WarioWare (either one). I know others on CAG have said good things about Feel the Magic. I have held off getting WarioWare Touched because of the way my 5 year-old beats on the demo systems at EB and Target when that game is on display :D. He'll want to play it if I buy it. The Yoshi I was talking about GR not having was the Topsy-Turvy one (the new GBA version). My GR actually has the DS Yoshi game for sale new - that's where I got it. It is a good game, though there isn't too much to it. But they seem to have made a decision sometime just after Yoshi Touch and Go came out not to get any more new DS titles to sell in the store. Though for some reason they got several copies of Polarium - go figure... (but no Pac-Pax, no Kirby, no ROTS). I don't know, maybe I'm the only one buying their new DS games :D.

I think we've done enough late-night thread hijacking so take it to PM if you have any more questions for me. Though I think others might be curious about the strange DS preorder list and whether that does mean you need to preorder those games to get them at all from GR (any input drfrielgood?).

If they do bring it back in July I would imagine it would be towards the end and they would have some kind of more complete exclusion list by then. It seems they wanted to kill it early so they could hammer something out to fix them so an exclusion list more complex than the one they have now is probably coming. I'm betting on keeping it as is but adding a "It must sell for at least 9.99" or something to make it a lot more stiff.

Polarium!!! You're so lucky, the GR's here have Super Mario 64, and about 10 copies each of Urbz, Asphalt, and Sprung.

Io - the GR here only got ONE copy of Kirby for the whole store... seems kind of odd.
 
woohoo Conkers today! Although my store hasn't called, they never call anymore... I'm just gonna stop in on my way back from the bank in a minute and pick up the game if they got it and then come home and go to sleep, 3rd shift....:roll:

I talked with a Gamerush clerk today and he said that they will bring back the 2 for $30 preorder soon but there will be more restrictions.
 
My brother was at one of the Ft. Worth GRs last night and the clerk told him they'd be running the 3 for 1 deal until September.

I don't know if this is just some clerk who didn't know what he was talking about or what, but hopefully it will still be running for at least a bit longer.

After pre ordering from GR for over a year now I have gotten 3 bonuses. No big deal considering the money I saved with their deals. Recently I got a free ticket with Batman Begins. Hopefully they'll have the Plan 9 DVD with DAH.

I picked up my copy of Destroy All Humans yesterday and it came with the Plan 9 From Outer Space DVD. GameRush actually gets a decent amount of the pre-order bonuses, but most of the employees don't know about them, so you really have to ask the GR manager to make sure you're not missing out.

Don't bet on getting it today unless the "Street Date" in their computer says it's release is today. I was pissed off last night when I tried to pick up "Destroy All Humans", to be told they couldn't sell it. EB have been selling it since Saturday.

OK GR you need to play catch up with your competitors if you want to get any preorders in the future. Without the trade 2 deal, I'm not going to preorder if I don't expect to get the game day of release. And yes calling me to let me know it's in would be a real nice touch.

LOL if it wasn't for the deals i'd never go there to do business, you can never get a straight answer from any employees. OH yea before i started ranting i might have found another trade in money maker. Forgot to post it earlier BUT on our way to work last night my roommate traded in a couple games and i saw Phantom Brave ps2 for $39.99 used on an endcap. We were in and out real quick so i didn't think to check the trade in date on the back, to see if that for sale price was current or not. I was gonna check today but i completely forgot after getting wrong information from the manager/GR guy...

it's new for $19.99 at ebgames.com wonder what a used copy runs..... I'd ask about the trade in price before buying any copies, but maybe you can make $8-10 or maybe you eat tunafush and die happy.

GR employees always quote Friday on new releases because that's when they'll definitely have it. They usually come in late Tuesday or Wednesday though.

And Phantom Brave sells for $19.99 used at GR, so that was just an old sticker you saw.

About the preorders, i guess i'm just spoiled as i always got my stuff right b4 closing on monday nights (for the most part) when i preordered from EB. I understand about the whole tell um friday just to be safe thing but don't just lie to people and say it got delayed again when you can go right around the corner and buy it from several other stores. How does that make your store look? I'm kinda glad i didn't get it today because now i will actually go to sleep for a while b4 work, going to the casino in the morning. BIG MONEY BIG MONEY!!:pray:

That's exactly what happened with GTA:SA(Xbox). I called them a couple hours after they opened and they told me they didn't recieve their shipment and it wouldn't be in for a few days. No big deal. That same day I go in to check out their used section and what do I see when I walk in....a "Now In Stores" GTA standee! And yes the game was in. Oh well, small price to pay for the awesome deals they gave us. I'll post if Conker comes in, but I'd say tomorrow's more likely. BTW hope they bring back the 2 for $29.99 deal if not I wonder what's in store for GR and us CAGs!

Actually, all of their computers show 'Friday' as release dates (for 90% of games) due to them being 100% Blockbuster before. You see, BB use to get new game rentals in on Friday, hence the Friday date. Most GR employees should know this is incorrect, but if they don't, it wouldn't surprise me.

|I had the same problem. The moron at GR told me that he could not give me my pre-order of DAH. Even though I called them and they said it was in. I even told the guy that on the games website it said the release day was 6/19. I was very annoyed...but at least I got it today.

Picked mine up this morning - no problem.

Also, was able to still use the 3/$5 and picked up Hot Shots Golf for the PSP. The coupon no longer worked so my sales person adjusted it to $5.
 
I got republic commando for $5 today too, the guy just had to adjust it, but I think it's the end of the deal for that store... only 3 left :)
 
There are no street date for games, just ship dates (minus a few MS games). When they get it in, it can go out. Slap those GR employees upside the head.

Gamerush has until the end of the year, or 1 full year from March (I don't remember which) to become profitable is what I remember overhearing from our DM (our district was supposed to get one before the freeze happened)
 
Dead in MICHIGAN too. Although, I did pick up my Destroy All Humans and FREE Planet 9 DVD....they almost didn't give that to me.

Also traded in WrestleMania 21 for $30 since I did not want it anymore
 
Is it just me or do these sweet deals from one store always seem to coincide with another sweet promotion from another store? Like:

- TRU's green tag sale with EB's get a bonus $10 for trading 2 games

- Gamestop B2G1F/ EB B3G1F with GR/BB trade 3 get $5 PO

I guess you could throw in "free" games at Best Buy with FYE's ridiculously high trade in values... Seems like these companies should space these deals out otherwise they'll be flooded with worthless games... oh well. Bad for them, good for CAGs.

Has anyone recieved Conker from their GR yet? Any CAGs that go to the Bloomfield Hills, MI GR did they get it in? I would call but I left my cell phone at home...
 
Just got back from picking up DAH. Unfortunately when I asked the girl about the free Plan 9 DVD she looked very confused. Oh well I'll try again tomorrow when I go in to pick up Conker. BTW DOOM3 still fetches $30.

I got my dvd, it comes in a simple paper sleeve. Nothing Fancy. I was told that Conker will be in on Friday.
