I always drop my junk at the 49th Street store, and I do it in multiples of two every time since I could care less if they suspend me. My two Red Ninjas will be up there before noon, definately.

What CC's did you go to, so I don't go to those same ones looking for these games?

Heh, you've got more guts than I do. :) I got both of mine at the Clearwater CC on Sunday afternoon. I found them in the cardboard display where they have all the $10 XBox "Best of Platinum Hits" games. I've only been there and St. Pete, where I went to return something but didn't see any Red Ninjas.
 
Whenever you guys/gals trade-in a game...like Red Ninja, do you leave shrink wrap on or take it off? Do you get more credit if it's still wrapped or not? Does the wrap throw up a red flag?

No, unwrap them. GameRush will not take sealed games.
 
Before I knew better , I traded in one sealed. They took it .. :whistle2:?

Now I just save the cases for the games that have scratched and dented cases.

I've traded in a few sealed games... once I was told to unwrap it, but that's about it. It's too bad there aren't more GC games that I could trade in so I could keep some of the cases.
 
Oh...so you guys are only taking in the disc then? Seems like they should give more if it's complete. Does it cost anything to start trading in?

Well, if they decide to ban me from trading, I really won't care... I only do it when there is a really easy deal available and I'm in the mood to deal with GR's crap. I don't want to trade them both in seperately because that would be two trips I'd have to make to the damn store, and one trip is enough.

Thanks for the heads up on the Red Ninja's, those are the two stores closest to me so I'll just skip them. I found my two in Port Richey last night, right before CC closed.

The Xbox version is what is getting $27 (as stated in the OP). They sell the PS2 version for $19.99 used, so you'd probably get much less for that version, but I'll try and confirm a trade-in price on it today.

Someone was asking about this a few days ago...I got quoted $25 trade-in credit for a Gamecube, as of yesterday (3/26). I swear that's down from a few weeks ago...even Xbox is still getting $40 or so.

The rest are kind of blah prices, but I figured someone would want to know.

I didn't bother calling in my sports games, like Tony Hawk 2x and Tony Hawk 4, I figured they don't get crap.

Hopefully that's not what the CAGs meant. I'm hoping they do what I do -- trade the nice case of Game A for a not-so-nice case of game B before trading Game A in.

No problem, I forgot I can't go until after 5 because that's when the Gamerush guy is in, he can get me in and out in under 10 minutes because he knows what hes doing.

Yeah.. I just found out from the nice people here. I just take one of those empty cd cases I have laying around and bring 'em in. I like the larger DVD size cases because it looks nicer. For the games that I have disc only, I just print the cover and put it in there. Its not the best but it looks better than a CD case.

The hassle of shipping something large and easy to damage probably makes people more inclined to take trade-in prices.
 
WOW...thanks guys. I went to CC and bought the 2 Red Ninja's they had for $15. Then went to GameRush and opened an account. They gave me $54 for the 2 Ninja's. Think I'll use this for the new "Revolution" when it comes out. Thanks again

Still no Tetris, still no Metroid Prime Hunters (I own it, but I checked for you all). Here is the convo:

Me: Did you get in Tetris for the DS yet?

Employee: Oh...yeah.... maybe we'll have it Thursday.

She called a different store, no go on that either. I'm hoping they'll get more then 1 copy, since I traded in just enough to cover two copies (one for me, one for my Mom). They have tons of signs advertising it, and they even have the preorder boxes still sitting around :roll:

Can't forget this wonderful Gamerush story:

A woman asks about Shadow of the Colosseus, the guy explains it perfectly... woman is interested, its for her grandson, she says. The employee then tells her "Well, we have a VERY special price of $39.99, everyone else charges $49.99, you're saving $10 dollars if you buy it from us! We always beat everyones prices".

It took alot of self control to stop from busting out laughing, espically at that last line.

Gamerush also expects Kingdom Hearts 2 on April 7th, according to their board, their computer, and the new sheet that says "Hot April Releases!!" and has KH 2 on it.

Yep, I've traded in 4 Red Nijas at my local Blockbuster (No GR nearby) for $27 a pop.

Anyone trade in Full Auto lately? They usually update trade prices on TUESDAY, right? I may still try to get another Red Ninja. We'll see though....

You can (I've done it before; each store is a different trading account), but I tend to avoid doing so.

You guys do know that Gamerush gives trade-in prices over the phone, right? And they are really very eager to do so? It's not like EB, where they refuse to give them to you.

You don't even have to ask for the GR person, you can just ask the person who answers the phone.

As long as you differentiate between GR and BB... regular Blockbusters hate giving quotes. It's always the "Well... I could tell you what it would be RIGHT NOW, but it can change anytime." or "You have to come in to get a quote."
 
Red Ninja still $27 as of Monday evening.

Damn, I completely missed the Best Buy clearance thread. When did that sale start? Today I was near a Best Buy that might have had some good stuff too - but I went to CC instead :D. And I just told my wife I was done running around to stores for the week.

I think that's YMMV Roufuss. I haven't tried recently but they used to tell me at my GR that they couldn't give prices over the phone. The regular BB's on the other hand are usually helpful.

6 Gamerush's today had no problem giving me multiple trade-in prices over the phone, around 3 to 4 games each.

I complied a whole list of Xbox trade-in prices based off of nothing but early morning phone calls.
