I think its like anywhere else, its the people you deal with. I just opened up an account yesterday. I traded 2 Red Ninja's yesterday and today. The same girl waited on me both times and she knows I'm coming back tomorrow. I don't plan on abusing it but they'll probably only see me when I find some deals like Red Ninja.

well some people would call going back to same store 3 straight days with 2 copies of Red Ninja 'abusing it'

Certainly, though I suppose it depends on how much he spread it out. Even a worthless manager will notice 10+ copies of the same game getting traded in. I suppose if he had access to 7 or 8 BB/GRs, it wouldn't be as difficult to get flagged, but ah well.

do you think one store's computer will show what the customer has traded in in another store?

I believe an employee has to dig through the menus to find out that sort of information... its not something that just pops up when they scan your card.

If you don't give them reason to not trust you, they'll never look at your history.

I think we've pretty much determined that each store's trading account is separate... meaning a manager at one store can only see what you've traded in at that store.

District managers on the other hand, can see everything. But there's no real reason a DM would look at your account barring extreme abuse likely reported by a store manager or something along those lines.
 
so with the fact that i have like 15+ blockbusters around my apartment meaning maybe i should look for more Red Ninja and start trading them in again
 
I just got done trading about 8 Red Ninjas for about $200+ worth of credit. I'm saving up for DS Lite + Animal Crossing/Mario Kart or I might just flip a little more and try to get a 360 so I can sell that on craigslist or something. Anybody else here go crazy when they did the "trade 3, get any pre-owned for $5"? That's how I got my first 360 (which was subsequently sold on craigslist in order to purchase a bunch of PSP games ((from GR nonetheless))). As for the people who believe that flipping is evil, take a good long look at the real estate market in California. Any other CAGers in southern Cali? It's quite nice here because there are about 8 Blockbusters/GRs near me and another 4 Circuit Citys within a 7 mile radius from me.

TWENTY-TWO copies of Red Ninja?? Wow, now I don't feel so bad :D. I'm not even sure I could get my hands on that many copies let alone take the risk of trading them all in (even to different stores). Well, I couldn't trade them into different stores anyway unless I wanted to spend all day driving in a 100-mile loop or something. So far I've kept my trading to 1 at each store, except for 2 at just one store. I was going out of town and didn't have time so I did a second trade 2 days after my first - and thought I was pushing my luck doing that! Now I have two more that I found yesterday and am trying to figure out where to trade those... Hmmm... there is a Blockbuster up by one of the Best Buys, and I haven't even checked out that sale yet, so maybe I can get a two-fer :lol:. AND afterwards I can stop by Gamerush to see if they got Metroid/Tertris - yeah, that's the ticket! So much for telling my wife I was done running around to stores this week.
 
With all this talk of more Red Ninja copies showing up, I'll have t ostop by my store... they only had one two weeks ago. Picked up the other two while in Columbus.

I've provided my BB with 4 copies thus far.... if I had any other BB's nearby (nearest is 45+ miles away) I'd dump a few more.... but oh well, what a nice run it has been.

22 sounds about right for me, I discovered it when it was 8.99 at Gamefly and free shipping, order like 12, they called me and asked if I made a mistake :), ordered another 6 at cc.com been great, 7 GR's in area, so only 3 per store
 
I have been sick this week, so only got in on this Red Ninja stuff today (Tuesday). Traded at two different Blockbusters in the area, one copy to each store. $11 credit at both stores, maybe Blockbuster has adjusted the price, there are not GR's in the area so I can't try that instead.

did you trade in the ps2 or the xbox verison? the xbox is the one that gets $27. I traded a few into both gamerush and regular blockbuster stores and still got $27 today.

ANYWAY, back on topic - I had a semi-successful trip out tonight. Of course, no Metroid or Tetris in yet, but I was able to score 2 GC controller extensions (which I need desperately with my Wavebirds failing left and right) at a regular BB. Of course, GR has none of these (nor any Wavebirds). They were not in the clearance section but they were marked $5.99, rang up $3.99, and then got the $2 "coupon" applied. So I got each one for $2 in BB credit - sweet. Of course, at said BB I also traded a Red Ninja (still $27 late Tues night). Then at GR I was able to get a single used Sony PS2 memory card. The price has dropped on these even before the discount as they are $16.99 now (used to be $20), so $8.50 after discount.

Also, just found out that Lost Magic (Yo Botticus!) is in the preorder system so I switched my Tao's Adventure (horrible reviews, I'll pick it up when it goes clearance at Target or CC or whatever) for that. STILL no Super Mario Brothers in the system yet though.

They think they will get Kingdom Hearts II tomorrow, but we'll see :roll:.

I hit up a Best Buy before that and wasn't able to find much from the sale: PS2 Terminator 3 for $1.99, GBA Nightmare Before Christmas for $1.99, and NDS Pac N Roll for $9.99 (which I might return). HOWEVER, they had TONS of penny guides - nearly all the latest set of drops. I got about 14 different ones. Paid $14 and change for all that (with $10 being just for Pac N Roll!).

I can trade for a bunch of different PS2 or Xbox games and a more limited selection of GC/GBA/DS games (just ask and I can check what's there - I know MGS3, DMC 2, TS FP, Metroid Zero Mission, and a bunch of others are still there). I'm not sure what the Wavebirds cost as they have never had one new or used for sale at my GR - were they $30 originally? So maybe I'd trade 3 games for 2 Wavebirds (or 1 game like GC NBA Street Vol 3 and 1 regular game - whatever works out to $30 after discount for 2 wavebirds or $15 for 1 wavebird).
 
I'm surprised there still isn't any sort of a trade-in deal, after many months... this 50% off sale is ok, but nothing like the sales GR used to have. But even then, the sale is still a failure... I can name plenty of other games GR is swimming in yet didn't mark down (Suikoden IV is one of them).

Seeing all these Gamecrazy deals makes me envious =/
 
The xbox fantastic four controllers are 7.50. Basically a Madcatz Control Pad Pro with a graphic. The Batman ones are porbably the same, but I could barely stand to look at those, so I didn't check.

I was also whinking about getting one of those xbox MK Kontrollers, but they just looked too different from the standard design. Would anyone care to share their opinion on them? My main concern is the quality of the sticks. For some reason, the lack of an indent on the top (like a ps2 controller's) makes me think they might have cut corners there, maybe more than simply using the same sticks as their ps2 models.

Roufuss, what Gamecrazy deals?? I live near dozens of GC's and I almost never go to them. They had one good semi-clearance sale a few months back (I got things like Stella Deus and Atelier Iris for $20 - Atlus games GR wouldn't carry anyway), but other than that they are much like EB/GS. GR would be MUCH better if they would 1) bring back the trade-in deals they had last year and 2) got games in on time :D. As it is they are still a cut above GC, but they are fading.

When I ordered online they only charged me $2 shipping for the whole order of 10, so don't worry about it.

The warehouse they shipped from was in Illinois too, so they may get to you in 1-2 days.
 
Stopped by a Gamerush in Melbourne, FL today and they still had 2 1/2 tables full of 50% off stuff...

So the used accessory 50% is still going on? Are the things in the OP the only ones on sale? My store has 3 or so PS2 memory cards and I could really use one especially for $8.50.
