Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy is pretty interesting. It's not the greatest game ever, but like Heavy Rain I think it's worth checking out. For $6 with no DRM it's REALLY worth checking out obviously!

What's neat is I assume this is the uncensored version :D
Yes, the page states that "Disclaimer: This is an uncut and uncensored version of Fahrenheit"
Hopefully, GOG will continue to release unedited games.
If the time ever comes to re-release the entire
Leisure Suit Larry games, I hope that GOG doesn't
back away.

Now, where is Manhunt 2?

I was proud of Sony that I guess Heavy Rain is pretty much as non-censored as Fahrenheit was? (Versus the U.S. console releases?)

I played Star Flight on the Genesis, and LOVED it. Like it's just crazy good...belongs on any "best of" list.

BUT I don't recognize it from those graphics at all. I'm not sure how similar the Genesis one is to the PC original, or whether it plays similarly, looks worse, or whatever.

My first reaction was being super excited about this, since I never got to play Starcraft 2, but now I'm not sure if my loving the Genesis one translates to liking these or not...

By the way GOG version works great with Exult if anyone is interested. Exult uses the original game files but wraps them up in a new engine that lets you adjust resolution and other things.

I dont have a history with too many games on GoG, I played my Sega Genesis as a kid. I wish I had more of an appreciation or excitement because all I see when I look at Ultima 7 is a really ODD isometric style and reviews claiming it's a better world than Skyrim.

They've got Deus Ex now! I've already got my 2000 CD copy, but this is a MUST BUY, and I'm buying it from GOG too.

It's been topping "best game ever" lists all decade, and if you haven't played it, is probably most similar to like Bioshock or System Shock, though I like it even more than that.

There's supposed to be some fan made art replacement patches to make it look better, although I mean it was an Unreal game, looked PHENOMENAL 11 years ago, so I don't think it'll make anyone throw up now.

I spent a fortune on a super high end PC to run it maxed out in 2000 lol. It was so good I think it was technically worth it...

Nice! Thanks, I'm bookmarking those!

This game is just a must buy, and I think people who love like Bioshock as the modern example will love this too. Would be cool if they get System Shock 2 on GOG. That's also awesome, and kind of flaky on NT even though it launched in 1999!

Hmm...I'd like S.W.A.T. 4 also, that I missed and was Irrational's game before Bioshock. I have no real interest in a SWAT game, except this is Irrational, and they managed to make it totally awesome and give you real choice (that didn't seem too complicated) about how to approach a mission.

It did? You're probably the first person I have ever seen/heard say that. I've always heard that even back in the day it wasn't considered an amazing looking game. After checking some older reviews it doesn't seem like they were gushing about the graphics either

Oh wow, seriously? I don't know of anything that looked that good in 2000. My PC was fine up until that released, and then couldn't really cut it. Spent over $2000 so I could max it out pretty much.

It used the power for more than just looking good too, since it was rendering these huge areas where being able to look ahead and plan things out was part of the gameplay.

I'm impressed they got a version running on the PS2, but it had to be massively chopped up and downgraded, even though the PS2 launched after the game did.

Oh, I came here to post that...Thief? This has me super hopeful maybe we'll get System Shock 2! I like SS2 better even than Bioshock, but like Deus Ex, I think anyone who likes Bioshock will like those too.

Thief and SS2 are the 2 biggest nostalgia games for me.. beating out a long list of games I've played in my 42 years on the planet..

Holy carp. Being able to play Thief on a modern computer without rejiggering two dozen fixes to go along with no-CD cracks is right up there with more Time Crisis ports to the Wii/PS3 on "Game stuff I'd chop off my arm for."

I haven't been buying stuff from GOG since my backlog there and on Steam is huge, and I've been playing mostly new releases, but I had to buy Thief Gold right away. Too many good memories, even though I didn't finish it back then.

FYI, this Thief release is not working 100% like GOG releases usually are. The videos wouldn't play on my Windows 7 x64 until I checked the GOG forums for tips. I finally got them working last night.

Edit: GOG has released a new installer for Thief Gold that apparently fixes the video issues.

Might & Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer $5.99

M&M VIII again utilizes the engine of the M&M VI (if it isn't broke...), follows a long and engrossing storyline, and still includes the addictive diversion of Arcomage. This time, however, the player creates one character and recruits/swaps party members throughout the game, including some characters from rather...unorthodox races. It was criticized on release for not significantly changing the formula of VI or VII. With a decade of hindsight, that seems like much less of an obstacle to enjoying this classic RPG.

Extras: Manual, Reference Card, Soundtrack, Avatars
