I'm a Web Standards Nazi Web Designer.
As a lot of the web designers should be, but aren't.
I work IT at a semi-large insurance company. My "official" title is Application Developer / Java, but I have done very little Java since I've been here. A lot of their applications are web based, and I tend to be doing the GUI/UI of these applications. I enjoy working with computers, but programming day in, day out is not my style, so I'm holding out on this until something better comes along.
I also do some freelance work (web design), which is a blast as long as you get a decent client. Clients can be unreliable sometimes, which does cause stress.
I also taught piano, up until a recent car accident left me injured. I really hate that I can't do this, there's no deadlines, no annoying bosses, no paperwork, they're just kids. Sure you get a bratty kid here and there, but I'd much rather deal with a bratty kid than to have a boss hanging over your neck. And the pay is good too.
