As of Feb 6th, to earn SYWR bonuses a member has to have a valid email address on their profile and opted in before purchasing an item with a bonus offer. This has been communicated to members through SYWR emails and in the circular along with new signage indicating to receive bonus offers they have to have a valid email address on file and opted in to receive email. Opting in to receive SYWR bonus offers is not too bad:
.

1. Log in to your account online
2. Click "My offers"
3. Click "More about me"
4. Scroll down to contact preferences
5. Click the boxes to receive email from (I suggest all for tomorrow). I'll post if you just have to accept Kmart in the future.

*This list is not comprehensive of every promotion that may be coming and release dates are subject to change.

Amazon just added a $10.00 credit with Street Fighter on the 3DS. I know K-Mart is offering a deal if you buy the system and a game, but is there any chance of deals on the games alone?
Sorry if this has already been asked but is there a price drop planned for March like in February?
I'm wondering as well, when doing a search this post came up and another that asked about March deals and somebody said "they just appeared in the OP"...but the are, in fact, not there.

I'm really hoping Metro 2033 drops, that's one of the last older titles I'm waiting to drop down below $20. Just picked up Singularity at Sears for $15 but I scanned Metro and it was still $30.

If anyone had a gift card sent to them because they didn't get their points for DQVI, you may want to check your email.

I just got two monthly SYWR statements; one was for my normal account, and the other was for a different member number I hadn't seen before. This one had the 15,000 bonus points that never came from DQVI. I logged into my normal account, clicked the "Change Card" link next to my member number, entered the new one from the email, and now I've got the 15,000 points along with the $15 gift card.

I'm guessing my physical card might not work with the new number though... I'll probably just have to go in without it and have them look me up. You'll probably want to switch your member number back to your regular one once the points are used up.

(In case it matters, I had signed up for my account on the SYWR site, and used the temporary card to purchase DQVI)

I also received the monthly SYWR statement this morning, but only the one for my single account--I'm not sure why your situation is different.

Hey SHC guys, would it be possible to add the prices of games in the OP? It would save a little effort having to look up prices, but if its laid out up front, then its easier to make comparisons on sales vs deals. Thanks.
wait a minute... I thought with the PS3 launch that they (Gamestop) oversold preorders and had to cancel on a first come first serve basis, meaning that the later you placed your preorder the better chance you had of it getting cancelled..
I know my district at the time had more than enough, we had extra for each console.
anyone know if crysis has early reviews up anywhere. I would assume the game will get decent scores.... assuming.
Crysis review embargo is until tuesday at 9am per shipwreck on the latest cagcast. Wouldn't expect anything until midday tuesday.

Any reviews you see before that aren't to be trusted, as they are probably exclusives granted for a higher score.
Sent an email about not receiving SYWR credit for Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Did you just buy your copy or just realize you never got the points from a month ago?

You should check out metacritic.com or gamerankings.com, they usually have reviews from a lot of different reviewers (websites, magazines, etc.) and average them all up for a "final score." Anyways, so far, there's 2 reviews which are both 9/10 ;)

EDIT: Also, what jer7583 said. hehe
So stoked for crysis 2. Don't really want another 4000 points though. I'll deal though.
You can always sell the point card for like $40

Just picked up Yakuza 4, Yakuza 3, Homefront, and a $20 PSN card from the Kmart in West Mifflin, PA no problems whatsoever. The cashier was an old lady and kept giving me funny looks when I told her I should be getting stuff for free but she did it and it worked without any hangups. Furthermore, I had $50 in SYWR points and a $25 Kmart gift card from Sony Rewards taking the grand total to $49 for the 3 games, the PSN card and 20,000 SYWR points. I am very happy. Thank you Josh, you are doing your job very well!!
Never tell the cashier about the deals, rule of thumb.
This. I dunno what would make you think it was a good idea either. They don't know about the deals so either it does nothing or she thinks you're scamming them.... I can't even imagine how you would go about randomly saying "these games should be free" without looking like a total weirdo anyway...

Got an email from sony to donate for Japan releif.

Wondering if I can use my $20 psn card(from the homefront dea) as the payment for a donation?

Gonna try it later when I get home tonight.
Personally I think we will be good unless you live near one of our worse Kmarts that won't be getting a whole lot.
Odds are that's me. It's always me.

once you add the funds to your psn account you are able to donate towards the Japan relief, great way to use your psn card :applause: i did the same

Hey,

Crysis 2 is almost out (YEAH!) and I was wondering about the 4000 points offer. What if it's not available in store? I want to be prepare for the worst.

Just got done doing that at the house right now!

Wish the DA2 deal didn't fuckuck up for me or I would have donated that card as well.

I wasn't gonna pick up Crysis 2 but since I have ten bucks SYWR, I'll swing by next saturday morning and pick up the combo and donate that card as well.

Went to K-mart, picked up Yakuza 4 with the 10,000 points, but NO YAKUZA 3!!! How can I get a copy of this!? I'm really sad and disappointed... Please help!!

I would just return and rebuy at another kmart if you haven't opened. If you have you'll either have to get a helpful CSR at another store, or beg for josh's assistance. Whatever you do get yakuza 3 though... it's got a nice recap of the previous 2 games so you'll be all caught up for 4.

No need to take it back. He needs to photocopy the receipt and PM it or email it to Josh and he'll send him a copy of Y3 or as he said he'll fix it for him. :bouncy:

Josh doesn't generally send merchandise in the mail. He could send a gift card in the value of Yakuza 3, but then the buyer would be back at square one of having to find a store that has it in stock. Better off doing the return/rebuy at a place that has it.

3-15 Yakuza 4 Offer 10,000 SYWR + Free Yakuza 3
As stated on the blog, only about 95% instock for Yakuza 3 (make sure to check the front value fixture).

Per Josh:
"If the store does not have it forward the receipt to Jim and we'll make sure you get the value of the promotion."

For the coupons a while back, the codes on them were the same, to prevent stacking. This also led to the debacle. So, if the fix is a unique code, will stacking be available? What I mean is, if I buy 2 copies of Joe Blow 17 with a coupon printing for each, can I use both of those coupons on my next purchase (1 transaction), or just 1?

no, if you can do unique codes, you can also program which set of codes are not to be stacked.

I don't understand the premise behind stacking though... why prevent it?

With the SYWR points you can essentially stack, because if I bought x2 copies of Yakuza I could turn around and use the 10,000 pts x 2 = 20,000 points immediately towards another game.

Why the heck in the future would you prevent someone from buying two copies of a game that print gaming coupons and keep them from stacking those towards the purchase of another item?

oh, in the past, kmart has never prevented stacking. (Well, some stores have but that was not the intent of SHC). I thought it was a question of whether it could be done. I must have misread it.

No, now you have me confused.. confoosious... lol.

What I meant was that the older coupons could stack if they were from different promos but coupons of the SAME promo were coded so that they couldn't stack; or at least they weren't supposed to. I never understood that and from previous posts I thought someone was stating you might not be able to with the new coupons

thanks for the responses guys...what GBAstar said is what I was referring to. The coupons used to stack if they were from different games. But, you couldn't stack 2 coupons from the same game (I assumed because they had the same UPC or whatever). So I was asking if the coupons come back with unique UPCs, could you then stack 2 of the same.

oh. yes. that was because people were abusing the system and buying 2 copies of Starcraft or whatever and getting 2 $20 coupons. Then they'd return the 2 copies of starcraft but keep the coupons. Then they'd use the 2 coupons to get starcraft for $10. So.... no stacking was a way to mitigate risk.

I've lost track of what the hell kmart is gonna do anymore but the best solution seemed to me to be unique coupon codes tied to a SYWR card. (as opposed to points.) That way, if someone was doing something shady, it could easily to tracked back to an account. And then Josh would go punch them in the face.

I'm pretty sure yesterday I was reading through this thread and one of the SHC guys said that Bulletstorm will be $39.99 next week. Is that true?
That way, if someone was doing something shady, it could easily to tracked back to an account. And then Josh would go punch them in the face.
This is by far the best way to mitigate risk. It only needs to happen once for the fear to spread.

yes
What will happen if I return my game and I used my SYWR points toward it?
u get back only what you paid in cash, at least thats how it was for credit promotion. i don't think you'll get back your points..

Are there any other new deals for next week besides Bulletstorm?

Ideally, we'll find out soon. Josh wanted to post them Thursday but seemed to be waiting on a confirmation, and he's a busy guy right now from the look of things.

Actually it's noon eastern, 9 am pacific. I played the beta/demo up right now and I think Homefronts MP is better than Crysis 2, but Crysis 2 is prettier. No word on single player yet.
What will happen if I return my game and I used my SYWR points toward it?
I returned a kid's coat that I used points on and I got my points back. I also returned something else, escapes me what, that I used points on and I got those back as well. The first time it took a day for them to show back up. The second time though the points went right back on the card so by the time I went through the checkout I could use them. So based on those experiences I would say you should get them back on your card.

Got in on both the Homefront and the Yakuza 4 offer with no hassle. This was the same K-Mart (Diamond Bar) that gave me no end of trouble before, so it seems Josh's instructions is slowly getting through to them. Gotta say too, as the first time I have used SYWR it's really, really convenient. I don't know any other rewards program that works this quickly. Bought Homefront first, then immediately used the 10000 pts on Yakuza 4, then used the 10000 pts from Yakuza 4 for a pair of jeans. The way this works, I wouldn't mind if we don't ever see coupons again
