[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

$200?! Seems farfetched to me. I got one of the $15 PS3 Singstar vol. 2+mics bundles and tossed it on eBay to see what would happen. Got $32 for it, which was alright, but it was a pain in the ass to ship, took me an extra day just to find a good box for it and it cost like $9.00 parcel post (you can't charge more than $4.00 shipping in the video game category). I think my local KMart has one or two more, but someone else can have 'em.
 
I was browsing the Bloomington, IL K-Mart a few days ago, when I grabbed the only copy of LBP (PSP). Had the $9.95(9?) sticker on it, like most of the games in the bin. Was extremely happy!

I thought about Singstar. Can't remember which one. It was one of the PS3 versions with two mics. It was either $10 or $15.

Except you don't need a BC PS3 to play old Singstars, all you need is any of the PS3 versions. The discswap thing works for PS2 SS games also.
 
Is there a special barcode on the GT/LBP that ring up 9.99? There are a bunch at the store near me but they are all in the case (and never any employees around).

Yep, the ones that are $10 are the Canadian version. They have both English and French on the cover and back. There is a sticker on the back covering the UPC.

If they are still in the case, I doubt they are for sale. If they are for sale, they would have been stickered, and then placed in some clearance area.

You know you can use the Shipping Estimator on Ebay to calculate postage rather based on location, size, weight, etc. than using the $4.00 flat fee in the video game category?

Not to send this into an Ebay flipping/hording discussion but Space is right. The best way to get around the 4.00 cap is to use shipping wizard. You can cheat that a bit by scaling the weight up. You can make it 9-11$ probably. I actually did what Mike did, sold a couple of those bundles for 35$ and charged that. Youd be better off selling the 9.99 LBPs for 37.99 on ebay that trying to do the singstars... that is if thats what (mike) your getting at.
 
Not a clearance find, but a possible markdown or error. I picked up a copy of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars PSP at my local Kmart for $19.99 - YMMV. Can anyone confirm this is system wide price now? That's about ten bucks off current retail and deserves a post if it is legit. Maybe I just got lucky.
 
I'm pretty sure that Chinatown Wars was indeed marked down. My store no longer carries it, but I remember seeing a PLC (price line change) for it.

That is a pretty good deal considering they sell one of the mics for $49.99 by itself. I have seen the bundle for $40 at wal-mart. Some Sears have it for $24.97.
 
I didn't find this in the thread when I searched so I figured I'd mention it - in the newegg thread someone posted that kmart (also) has Raiden Fighter Aces (360) for $14.99. Note that I have not verified this myself! Anyone verified it for that price? I'm wondering if it might go on clearance soon. At lunch today I'm going to see if they have a copy and will scan the barcode (if they've still got a scanner for us to use.)

Yep, I mentioned that :) I've seen it marked $14.99 at two different KMarts so I believe it is universal.
 
No scanners any more at the local kmart, though the signs for them are! :( They did have multiple copies of Raiden Fighters Aces, but I didn't wait around for someone to show up in order to check the price.
 
There was only a small bargain bin of garbage at my local Kmart (Middle Village, Queens)

Everything else was new and full price.

I would love to get the DDR Universe bundles for the 360 at the cheap price... but my kmart only has em at like 35 and 39... if anyone has better luck... let me know

Did you use the scanner? Don't believe the tags on the games, always check the price at the scanner. I got like 5 of the damn things over the summer, and there's still a ton of DDR Universe 1 bundles at my local store for $6.99 or whatever.

I will also note that there are more than 20 Guitar Hero II bundles for Xbox 360 at my local store, as well. They all ring up at the original SRP: $90. Makes me laff.

No I get them scanned... I don't believe the tag prices ever.. but my kmart keeps them locked up so I always need someone to unlock the cage and scan them for me... and everytime full price... can anyone hook a brother up?

If it's not too much trouble, could you fill us in on msrp game drops?

My Kmart has very disorganized game displays, and even pretty recent games like ODST have been moved into non-visible stacks in the bottom of the cases.

I didn't bother to print them since this thread is pretty anti MSRP. If it's still there on Tuesday morning I will print them.

Nothing caught my eye on the list though except

I'm pretty sure Kmart is behind on MSRP drops, since there hasn't been a substantial list since about October/November
 
My Kmart still has racks and racks of clothing from last summer, and its still around $5 or more an item even after scanning, any idea when this stuff is gonna go cheap, like $1? My store also seems to have given up on placing sale signs on the clothing racks. There was like 5 customers in my store and today is Sunday which is usually packed, I don't know how this store is going to make it through the winter, since no one is going to do anything but food shopping in my area for the next 3-4 months since everyone is completely broke from Xmas.

All that stuff should be 75%. Children license tee's should be ringing up around $1.99 (stuff like Transformers and Dark Knight etc..)


Even a lot of Winter stuff should be 50% since about Christmas.

I went to 3 different Kmarts in PR, without luck! Darn :bomb:... I wanted the 120 GB Hard drive for the Xbox. OH, well I will have to wait... :cold:

They may give it to him for 75% off. That is what they did for me when I found a Sony HDX 275 that was pennied out. It was $30 before it pennied out but the manager would only sell it to me for $75. Either way, it was still a good deal.

I'd definitely pick up both of those games for $9.99, especially if I could get the PS3 version of Madagascar Kartz. It is actually supposed to be a decent game, considering ;). But I was just looking at the PS3 version at GS and it is $19.99 there. I had also seen the 360 version for $14.98 on clearance at Target but they didn't make it through the holidays (plus $15 was just a bit too much for me to pay for it). $9.99 is a pretty good non-clearance price there at Kmart.
 
I went to scan something at Kmart in streetsboro, OH last time I was there and the one electronics guy practically flipped out and almost yelled at me to go over to the guy with the hand scanner instead. Tightass...

I don't sell on Ebay at all. If anything, I'd have probably asked my friend if his sister wanted it for a b-day present for one of his nieces or I would've gone to Blockbuster with the bundle, since I think it's one of the few remaining games/bundles that still gets a decent TIV there($36).

As it is, I believe the store also had 2 normal(non holiday priced) bundles of the game too, but those are still $59.99.
