Just for Eldritch, Riviera is $2.49.

You can see the full prices for the games on sale here.
sucks i paid 10 for this about a month ago via gamestop

i liked

growlanser more then gungnir due to the fact if i remember right... gungnir has no random battles (meaning you cant grind in the game)

Yeah, I like both of those types but not S-RPGs.

Thanks. Maybe I should just wait a while for that to go on sale.
If you want a normal style of JRPG, check out Hexyz Force. It doesn't do anything all that innovative, but it does feature two solid campaigns that tell its story from two perspectives.

It's not a sale, but a permanent price drop. You'll be able to get it cheaper than that during the next Persona sale.
That makes sense then.

Am I correct in assuming that:

Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time – PS3/PS Vita/PSP Game (now: $7.49 original price: $29.99)
Gungnir – PS3/PS Vita/PSP Game (now: $7.49 original price: $29.99)

Are mistakes on the systems since they're only listed as PSP on the store?

i didn't care for silent hill vita at all. but to each their own. i thought it was bland, boring and rough graphics.

then again i didn't invest the time to understand the blood spills white spills etc so i have no idea.

also 2.50 for riviera?! sold.

i played these on ds. these are the psp ports... which other atlus games should i get?

i know they have no trophies, but knights and riviera and?

No, they're on the Vita's PS Store.

Alright, somebody talk me into buying the PoP collection.  I remember playing through some of the original, then rented the second, but I remember it being VERY unforgiving.  I didn't get very far, and I think I rage quit at the time. Never touched the 3rd.

It's been many years and I've matured quite a bit, so I'm considering giving the series another chance.  Have these games held up very well??

first off, don't forget Tokyo Jungle Mobile came out today (PSM store on the vita).  It's a tile based strategy game based on TJ.   I'm getting it sight unseen just to support the franchise in hopes of a proper Vita version of TJ plus TJ2 for PS4.  (yes,  i love the game that much).

i can't seem to add TJM to my cart yet, but i'm guessing the store is still updating.

anyway...dang it.

just bought:

Hexyz (owned on different account)

Class of Heroes (owned on different account)

Crimson Gem Saga (owned on different account)

Knights in the Nightmare (owned on different account)

Yggdra Union(owned on different account)

GUNGNIR

Riveria

for around $27

Which... I don't mind, it's a great price for all that.   But that was SUPPOSED to be my budget for vita indie games like hotline miami and velocity ultra.

Screw it. I'm going all out.

Grabbing hotline miami on top to support the indies.

and i picked up a vita game called Total Recoil for 2.50

I still want to get velocity ultra and silent hill vita on top of that, but i think i'll wait a couple days so i don't feel like i'm spending all my monies.

QUESTION -- how different is Velocity Ultra from the mini?   I mean, I've played the mini (loved it) and I've played the vita version demo (loved it)... and while i want to support the dev, it's hard to justify 7.50 for a game i already have, even if i do like it a lot.  any thoughts?

I'm checking it out. Thanks again.

Picking up both. Class of Heroes sounds like my type of game. Wish we could get Etrian Odyssey, Shiren, Izuna and some SMT games on Vita.

Bravo sir, you're making me feel better about my purchases since at least this will be the first time I've bought all that stuff.

The collection sux. Don't get it.
I don't know, the reading and watching reviews I've done all concur with the list of points from a few pages ago where they're mainly things that are more just polish issues with the collection than the individual games. The consensus on the games themselves is that they still play great and have held up reasonably alright.

update on deadlocked.   re-inserted disc.   went back to disc benefits, went to store.  this time i hit download for the vita version (on my ps3, normally i skip that) and... lo and behold, deadlock downloaded too.

go figure.

ty for the tip, whoever posted to do that.

lol, yea. well, i had made a separate psp account back in the day, and the vita account system doesn't really work well with that (especially with ps+ on my main account, lol).

so really, it's all about consolidation... and the more games i get from the psp over to this account, the easier it is for me to sell my psp (which i never use anymore, but feel 'locked into' due to the rpgs on it.

now i just need a 128 meg mem card. i'm so over 30g it's sad, thanks to plus.

The PSP stuff on sale isn't being delisted right?
Index is having issues. Atlus is owned by Index. I'd say it's very unlikely Atlus is having the kinds of issues that would delist anything... but it's not impossible. It did cross my mind when i decided to grab them all.

It has a platinum trophy, great use of touch controls for warping, online leaderboards, and a great visual upgrade. Other than that, it's the same game.

I remember reading about the same sort of thing happening to them around 2 years ago and they're still around. Plus Atlus seems to put sales up every 2-3 months. If that. I guess we'll see.

touch controls for warping might have sold me. i just need to figure out $$$. spelunky is coming out on vita soon and that's a must have.

Of all these RPGs, I have no idea which ones to buy. Can someone make me a quick list going from best to worst?

Riviera, Yggdra, Knights in the Nightmare, Growlanser, Gungnir,Hexyz Force, Kenka, Crismon Gem, Class of Heroes, Cursed Crusade

I don't want to buy all of them and see by tiral and error so any advice would be great!

im so zoned out. those werent ds games at all were they, i played that on ds but it was the gba carts. wow time flies.

well knights is ds cuz stylus... so is it touchable on vita or just psp ports. im sorry. so out of it with these games.

I was thinking the same thing. I was considering looking for good priced rpgs. I was considering no s-rpgs but more turn-based and/or action rpgs.

Damn, Atlus PSP games on sale once again. VERY tempted by Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble for only $3.50. Riveria, I remember hearing a lot about growing up, but never got the chance to try it out. Kind of the same thing with Yggdra Union. I'm so tempted to get those, but I'm gonna be swamped with SMT4 and Fire Emblem, not to mention I wanna get more PxZ in and some other stuff. Plus I want to save the $8.## I have for Mamorukun Curse next week.

I still don't know what Knights in the Nightmare is like. RTS with RPG & Ikaruga elements or something?

Store doesn't seem to have updated yet for me. But I grabbed Alice MR and did the DL for the original. Fiancée is excited for this game, so hopefully that means I get a little lucky tonight, haha.

Serious note, LOTR: War in the North... Worth it? Sucks I missed out earlier on Persia: Forgotten, oh well.

Hurray!  I'm encountering the apparently common issue where my Vita won't let me download anything.  Would be nice if Sony actually supported this thing.

Kenka Bancho reminds me of a Japanese Dead Rising, as in the fighting system is pretty much a brawler with all sorts of silly costumes and such to liven the atmosphere and there is something of a real-time clock going as you travel around the city conquering as many of the districts as you can during the school trip.

"Japanese Dead Rising" sounds pretty awesome. Maybe I'll give in and download it for when I have the time to play it. Might as well get it for this price since it's the lowest it's been, though I'm sure it'll be on sale again. Probably will do the same for Riviera since $2.50 isn't much to lose, though still wouldn't mind an opinion on it.

I still don't know what Knights in the Nightmare is like. RTS with RPG & Ikaruga elements or something?
It's more of a strategy RPG mixed with shooter elements in one of the weirdest games I've ever seen. It's the sort of game that requires going through the tutorials since you're going to be lost otherwise.

Looking back at old press emails for it, they specifically called it a RTTBBHSRPG, or Real-Time Turn-Based Bullet Hell Strategy Role Playing Game.

There's kind of like a quick time trash talking event to determine if you get the first hit that you activate by shooting these lasers from your eyes. It gives you a string of words and then you have to pick the right words from a bunch of different words which leads to some hilarious options. Kenka Bancho is just a typical crazy Japanese game and that's what makes it so great. I'm kind of reminded of Yakuza if the main characters were teenagers and lacked all the weird Hostess stuff and Karaoke.

Was quite a struggle, but decided not to buy anything from the sale. Have too many games to play as it is, especially with my PC backlog nearing triple digits

:oldman:  What I'll look like by the time I finished the damned things

Actually who am I kidding, I'm never finishing this backlog

Only nearing triple digits? That's a pretty weak PC backlog when I feel like I wind up with that many games from bundles every month.

Strategy RPG + shmup elements sounds like something I would like, but I don't know. This looks like the type of game that really could've used a demo (not that I could play it on Vita, but still, I would've checked it out on PSP). Probably would be a good idea to check out some game footage.

If all of us cags just took a moment to step back from buying more n more cheap games and went through our backlog, there would be a game industry recession for years to come. they rely on our addiction and it just keeps feeding the beast.

I hear people say they are bored on fb all the time and with our backlogs i dont think i could be bored if i had 10 years to play the games i already own. and yet i still am going to buy about 7 games when i get home on psn and i have Fuse/Defiance/Deadpool i just picked up this week i need to play n flip. i need a support group. lol. the only saving grace is that i dont spend any real money, so at least my wife n kids don't need to worry bout me spending food/mortgage money, lol. peace all n thanx frisky always

man, all these atlus games make me want to play TWEWY again. i wish that was ported to vita, but i guess with only 1 screen it wouldnt work...altho they made an IOS version, but idk... that would be the end of me...

Hey, someone has to save Atlus and it may as well be us by buying all their old games on the cheap.

Sooo... I have had the Alice demo sitting on my hard drive for months and haven't touched it.  I went to pick it up and it says I can't - I've already purchased it.  Do I need to play through that baby for 60 mins before they're going to let me buy it?

GOING TO  have to break out my   GUNGNIR and see if its worth  paying  7.50 to  upgrade it from  psp umd to    VITA DOWNLOAD  (never played it yet and owned it  for years  LOL)

Well in my defense that is games that I bought wanting to play/on purpose, so excludes a whole lot from all those darn humble bundles, etc.

The timer starts once you first start it up, and continues even if you quit the game.

Yeah, have to start it at least and wait an hour. It warns you when you download the full game trials that you won't be able to purchase the game until the trial is expired.
