nice pick up. DBZ is hard to find complete at GS. How does that game play? Does it give you the option to use wii remote and classic controller/gamecube controller?
No it doesn't. You have to use the Nunchuck and Wii Remote.
You look at that case and tell me it's not just generally grimy or meh. I'm sure the insert is all dented/creased in around the disc in the back of the case and the two instruction prongs on the front of it, too. If people don't mind that stuff, more power to 'em. It just doesn't do it for me. lol :3

On another note, though, how does that play on Wii? I've always been curious to try it (mine is on PS2, so no hand waving for me lol).
I swear to god dude, its in perfect shape. I know the disgusting dents/bumps/creases/holes you're talking about, and theyre entirely absent, this game is utterly mint. I mind that shit but not all gamestops are like that. I have a few around here that have some genuinely cool guys working there and somehow they're games are in better shape.

As to the quality of this game, I have no idea. My wii disk reader is having that problem where it doesn't turn on so I can't play any games. If anyone wants to send me a wii I'll gladly let you know. According to the box it supports controller + nunchuck or classic controller, no gamecube controller support.
Where did u get it? I didnt know they made plates
You need to be a ultimate platinum member at the squares enix website in order to get this yearly prize by registering all their games that've came out during the year period.

To get the license plate cover you just needed silver or gold tier.

The highest tier was for a signed art piece of final fantasy.

You didn't need to register all the games released by square in a one year period to get that.

I had the gold tier from the year before and its pretty worthless swag. The keychain and screen cloth were the best items. I traded a blu-ray for someones entire gold tier on here. Then got bored of it and traded it to another friend/member on here. It might be a vicious cycle of trades.

Hmm I thought the license plate was a platinum reward, but it could be gold. You can register older game titles to get the points, but their point system is so fucked up right now that they don't even tell you what tiers you are anymore, which IMO the safest bet is to register all the games that they have that's coming out.

Damn us CAGs have had a good week with Budokai Tenkaichi 3! I saw this at GameStop and used that birthday coupon so I got it for $32.39. Both games are complete and mint. Note that its the bonus disc version that is even harder to find. I know Zaku and others love to hate GameStop, but deals like this are why I continue to shop there.
Same here. Generally most of my used buys from GS are in Near Mint to Mint Condition. Case doesn't matter as much as I have spares for almost all systems anyways. The ones I frequent and buy stuff at have them in great condition. I always ask when I go up to see all the discs they have and choose the best one. If they are all fucked up then I say never mind.

Anyways my pickups:

IMG_1137_zps4497586e.jpg

All Upgrade & Save Pick-ups from last week.

IMG_1136_zps54631e44.jpg

Risen & Last Story were both guts but was happy to get Risen at $20. The gamestop I was at pulled the codes for the DLC when they gutted and I redeemed them and they are fine. Was happy to get Last Story and all the bonuses. That is for play anyways so no biggie on it being gutted as I was planning on opening it anyways. Found a novella version of FFXIII-2 and used the @gamer coupon. I want to replay both XIII and XIII-2 so I figure why not on PS3 (since I already have the 1Ks on both on :360:). Found a Gears 1 LE for $5. :D Riviera had a shitty grimy case but since it was complete and mint UMD, I took it and used a replacement case. The rest of the games are from Amazon.

IMG_1139_zps758cb4e6.jpg

Ordered 2 guides since I still have Amazon Credit and GCs. Have yet to start the damn game cuz my friends wanted to play L4D2 this weekend :bomb: My Wizard's Edition should be here either tomorrow or on Wed. :)

IMG_1140_zpsad76b72a.jpg

Finally got my Milla Maxwell figure from AmiAmi. Not really their fault it was in customs for over a week :bomb:. I paid for EMS too... grrrrr it took almost 2.5 weeks to get here. Beautiful figure. Xillia is my #1 most anticipated game this year. Cannot wait for it!

Where'd you get Gears 1 LE for $5?
Where'd you get Gears 1 LE for $5?
FYE of all places. They had a buy 1 get 1 50% off pre-owned. Gears was tagged at $10 and it was the cheaper of my two items so it was 50% off. :) It is complete too :D

I also saw a KH3D Mark of Mastery edition used but it was $49.99 and had a spider wrap over it. Passed though cuz I already have one.
No it doesn't. You have to use the Nunchuck and Wii Remote.
Uh, no? You can use the Classic and GameCube controllers. You're not forced to using the Nunchuck and Wii Remote.

Honestly, though, the motion controls work absolutely well with the game. You'd be surprised how much more playable the game is with them than Dragon Ball Z for Kinect was.

Sorry, I was basing it off memory. I would've corrected myself but my Brothers lost the manual, somehow...

But Motion Controls are definitely recommended for the game, especially if you learn all the neat tricks such as instant transmission. Plus, it's so funny to watch each other fight when you observe the motions you put into it.

No video game pickups as of now but I have been going a bit Blu-Ray happy over the last few weeks. Here is what I got in the last few days. The 4 regular Blu's came from the 40% off sale on gohastings from a week or two ago and the Snow White and the Huntsman steelbook cost me $12.00 at a local video game store, been looking to pick it up cheaply so I couldn't pass it at this price. I do have a quite a bit of Gamecube stuff coming in over the next week so I'll be sure to post then.

My mom saw these packages come in the mail, and told me I was pissing away money, and then I showed her ni No Kuni eBay prices.

Hahaha good job! Momma probably thinks you know what you're doin now! ;)

Here's my birthday pickups, got $200 in giftcards so I picked these up

843791_439731209432019_1801958266_o_zps1ae44bdd.jpg

Casino Royale Blu Ray was on sale for $9.99 at Bestbuy
12 Month XBL Gold card was on sale for $35 at Bestbuy
Battlefield BC2 was 9.99 at a local game store
I won R&C and LBP2 for $15 total off ebay! :D
The Hyperdunk shoes were $95 at Dicks after my friend used his employee discount for me. They were soooo much more expensive than I'm used to spending, but they were the only size 14 shoes I could find and I really wanted a new pair before my game tonight. They felt a little big at first but after doubling up on socks, they fit really well!

I'm saving the rest of the giftcard to buy some ingredients to cook up a nice valentine's dinner for my girlfriend and I! :D

Picked up a ton of crap over the last few weeks (which is all detailed in my Blu-ray/DVD Spending Tab) including Freakazoid S1, Young Justice, all 5 seasons of Stargate Atlantis on BRD, and Season 4 of Breaking Bad.

Wait, did Atlus do their Etrian Odyssey trilogy bundle like they said they were going to do or did you get them elsewhere?
Wait, did Atlus do their Etrian Odyssey trilogy bundle like they said they were going to do or did you get them elsewhere?
They just did a reprint. It was on sale at Play Asia, and I think Atlus just tweeted today that it's available on Amazon.

What I meant was this:

etrian_final.jpg

They were supposedly going to do a pre-order deal for buying all three together, but the only thing that seems to have come up was the three being mentioned and sold on Amazon, like you said.

Yes, I got them from their reprint through that video games plus website that they initially linked too.

As KtMack noted is was through the video game plus website that they were offering the bundle on, and the bundle was never offered as an option to be sold on Amazon, or anywhere else for that matter at that time.

Finally got this, Amazon sucks really bad when shipping out guides for some reason. Same thing happened with my Skyrim CE guide, both guides were in perfect shape, no shipping damages. Just a week late even though I pre-ordered when it went up, arg.

Already read up through most of it to catch up to where I am in the game, and pick up things I missed. Loving the game.
^ did you have any trouble redeeming the code for the DLC at primagames? I couldn't redeem mine on it :(
Yes/No. I first entered it and hit redeem and it gave me an error. I looked at it and it auto-deleted the last few numbers so I reentered them, and it worked. Spit out a normal PSN code, haven't tried that yet though.
And the set is complete :D

Nice! I'm still debating if I should pick up the guide or not. Do you think it's worth it for the DLC?

@tooshorty very cool Steel Battalion pick up! That controller is quite the beast. I feel like I should get in a jump suit when I play it.

@everyone picking up Ni No Kuni: it's great to see this game getting so much love. Especially to those that picked up the Wizard's edition through the Ni No Starter. Thanks for helping make the NTSC version that much more special .

And for my latest pick up. I am really cleaning out my trade piles from all the garage saling/ flea marketing last season. I traded in an N64 with some garbage games (best game was Pokemon Stadium & N64 was missing av cables), wireless NES controllers, and 4 PS3 games (SF4 vanilla ed, Mass Effect 2, ME3, and Battlefield 3) for these two guys. Only had to pay $50 out of my pocket.

Mega Man 7 & Mega Man X3

All I need now in the main series is Mega Man 8. Anyone know if the anniversary edition had a separate booklet for addition stuff or was it in the manual? Much thanks!

I bought very little this month as far as gaming goes. In fact, aside from a couple of digital purchases, this is basically all I got:
201301pickups.jpg

I did get a few nice non-gaming purchases, however. Most notably, this guy:
dinorex4.jpg

Somebody posted pictures of him on Reddit and I just had to have one...but they stopped making these in the 90s. I looked all over and there is almost no mention of it anywhere online, but I just happened to find one on eBay and it was still sealed, had only one bid, and ended in less than an hour. Obviously, I jumped on it and I am now the proud owner of Tear-Into-Staples Rex. More pictures in the spoiler below:

dinorex5.jpg
I also bought a triceratops tape dispenser, but I'm still waiting for it to arrive.

And, actually, I guess you can say this is gaming-related simply because I'm using it for my games:
redecoration7.jpg

Same goes for this, but it's not for video games:
redecoration14.jpg

This one really does have nothing to do with games, although I do use it while playing:
redecoration9.jpg

I'm in the middle of redecorating, so ignore the messy house.

US Set

Here are all of my game pick ups for January. I went a little over my budget, but I have no regrets:

Sony:

dscn0125lz.jpg

Yes, that is a near mint copy of Rule Of Rose. Bought it for $17! By far, the best pick up of the month. Also bought a PSP 1000 *Not Pictured*

Nintendo:

I bought a Wii earlier this month along with these games:

Microsoft:

You play Rule of Rose ever? Very underrated game and a very nice pick up! Not to say the rest suck or anything (you and I have very similar tastes BTW) but that is one game more people need to pick up not to mention is kind of hard to find. Nice pickups!

Thanks!
Yes, I've played through most of it with my incomplete copy (came in an awful generic GS case). I couldn't pass up a complete, near perfect copy at that price though. Anyway, it's an incredibly disturbing game, with arguably the best soundtrack I've ever heard. It's awful combat -even for a survival horror game- and my giant backlog kept me from finishing it though. I'm planning on restarting it as soon as I'm done with Ni No Kuni.
@zombietoast awesome dino staple remover
Thanks. Not that I have anything to do with him being awesome, but I'm going to take it as a compliment of my good taste or some such. Anyway, I would normally be able to pass on something like this, but I just liked him so much and with the new desk I just bought, I decided to splurge on something that is both functional and fun.

you should

always the best choice

my 7-year old self would have went nuts if I would have seen one (was obsessed with dinosaurs)

Oh man, same here. I was 10 when this was made, so dinosaurs were pretty much the only things cooler than Ninja Turtles and Spawn. I still think they're pretty awesome. My 2-year-old son is also obsessed with dinosaurs, so he got a kick out of it, but as far as he's concerned it's not nearly as cool as the dinosaurs I got him at John's Incredible Pizza.
