Yeah I probably will get it one way or another. I'm such a filthy whore. Good game Sony, you win.

Also I had no idea I could have had the entire Sam & Max series for "free". I really wanted those but not for the price. Oh well. Stacking looks good enough to justify it really. Brilliant move for both Sony and Double Fine..

But yes ss I will go back and play some (although probably very few) of the PSN games. Monkey Island, Pac Man...any classic stuff like that I may go back to years from now even. Granted if I let the sub lapse and really wanted something, nothing is stopping me from buying it again.
The sooner you get your subscription you won't miss out on PS+ games. Wipe Out HD was released for FREE on PS+ when they started it. I got my subscription in August and the game was already off the downloads.

Also if your subscription lapses when you resubscribe you can access all your games that you had for FREE again.

Hell I couldn't pass up 15 months for $49.99!

I didnt care at first because I had no interest in games like Wipeout. When they start giving newer stuff for free though I cant say no.

Also I had no idea that you could let your sub lapse, then pay later and get it back. I thought once it lapsed it was gone. That changes things. Cool.

I don't understand people who are worried about not being to play their games after their subscription ends. Not even considering the possibilities of a huge backlog and the fact that these are just arcade games, do you only plan on signing up for one year? If you think it's worth it to sign up this year, why wouldn't you again? I could see this worry when PSN+ was first introduced because no one knew what to expect but now you can see what you can expect from the service. Anyways, I'll update the OP now.

Overall PSN+ is definitely worth the $49.99 subscription. I guess the only fault with it is the fact that they haven't offered anything that makes it necessary, and not just an option (that may change with their "cloud" offering which has to do with NGP).

I like that I'm getting access to stuff I wouldn't buy otherwise (Lead and Gold definitely comes to mind, along with a few PS1 offerings). While it's not a 10/10 offering, it's definitely a 7.5 or 8.

I don't know that it's worth it. I've never used Gamefly and so have no idea what it costs but it seems to me that PSN+ is nothing more than a Gamefly for PSN games...except they decide what you get to rent.

I have read a few places about if it lapses you get your content back when you sign backup. I would hate for it to lapse and not work. Keep up to date status on your account and NO WORRIES. I think most people on here that have PS+ thinks its worth it, plus when you get games that play on your PS3 and PSP just means more gaming for the road.

I love my PS+ service. I never bought any PSN games until I had it though. Also, I still have yet to have as much fun with any of the free games as I have since the very first one. Age of Zombies was such a blast from the past and a good 2 hours of fun. Wipeout and some others provided some enjoyment, but so far nothing as fun as that. I am really jonesin' for a remake of Zombies Ate My Neighbors just thinking about it.

Stacking for free is just another nice addition. Lets hope its as good as we think it will be.

I'm playing Costume Quest right now(I picked it up last week when it was half off), and it's fun and charming. From the trailers I've seen, I think Stacking will be similar in feel. I wouldn't pay $15 for Stacking, but with how much I'm enjoying Costume Quest, it would be very tempting. Now I can get it for free, on the day it comes out, so I'm excited.

I've only been a member since Sam and Max was added for free, but it has already paid for itself at least twice over, and I still have at least a year to go.

Stacking got an 8.5 on IGN today, I don't put much faith in their reviews, but I'm excited. Now just waiting for the store update.

Wow, nice, never heard of this game, but a new PSN release free for PS+? Now we're talking Sony!

There has been some confusion as to whether Stacking is free for just one day or it's free from day one. Regardless, I suggest everyone with Plus to download it today.

Wow, nice. IGN are meh when it comes to reviews, but they're pretty harsh, so an 8.5 for a downloadable game is great.

I've always considered IGN one of the better places for reviews, but to each their own. Whatever the case I'm really excited for Stacking, I didn't know it came out today until I read that review... good thing I have a spare PSN card at the ready

Is there a way to tell when your psn+ subscription ends? or when did it start? lol
iv been a member since day 1, and i already had 1/2 the freebies, but i will stay in it for the 3 free months deal and so it's like $3/month and that's if you buy psn cards at msrp...and yeah i get games i never would like magic orbs/zen pinball/lead and gold/and now stacking ;) im not too big on themes/avatars/ps1/minies. and never seen an episode of qore r pulse, but whatever. and i dont auto update, that's intrusive. lol
so like 15 months, and i think it started last summer? so we should have til like Oct?

Easiest way I know is to find a game you downloaded from your PS+ membership and click info it shows you what day it expires. That's the day your PS+ is up.

What are the odds that I like the second Spyro if I dislike the first? My wife is a big fan of Spyro(its one of the only games she plays vs just watching me play)and she insists the second game is WAY better then the first.
Doesn't PS+ auto renew anyways?
It defaults to auto-renew but you can turn it off in your Settings.

As for Spyro 2, it's free. Download, play it, and see for yourself.

I wouldn't say I'm the Spyro enthusiast so take this with a grain of salt, but personally I found all four of the PSX Spyro games to be way too similar. Maybe someone can vouch for better level designs as the series progresses or something but I personally didn't really see much variance between them.

EDIT: Hey, aren't tuesdays the day for updates? I don't ever recall it taking this long for them to post the new stuff.

Stuff is up now if you search for it. Downloading stacking for free now. They just haven't updated the store front.

It's updated as late as 8:30 PST, if not later, sometimes. It's supposed to be a big update though.

yea...stuff is up now. no need to search now however

Will I be able to download Stacking tomorrow or is it free only for tonight? If I could grab it for free tomorrow I think I would, let the rush of downloads slow down.

Pretty sure it's available for awhile, but like I said, there was some confusion. At least add it to your download list.

Sorry if this is a repost, but is it too late to signup for PSN+ and get in on the free Stacking deal? I remember they did that with Qore memberships where you'd have to be a member already to get the free demos or games. Also, is the free 3 month bonus still going?

Hope it's not something already covered here, and thanks in advance - first post :)

Hey welcome to CheapAssGamer. I really am not 100% sure but I think if you signup now for Playstation + you can download The Stacking game or whatever its called.

You will have access to everything available to PS+ Subscribers the moment you sign up. I just looked on the PS + Website and the 3 free month offer is still available.

Yep, I just signed up last night against every ounce of my better judgement (Stacking sort of pushed me over the edge and I also strangely wanted Digger HD which is pretty fun!) and I got the 3 bonus months.

I'm seriously about to jump on this whole PSN+ thing. I played the Stacking demo for a bit last night...really cool and fun!

After my subscription expires, the games I bought at cheap (like ps1 imports for 3 bucks) does that gets locked out as well?

I'm not a heavy gamer, but I do like the selections available for psn+ members. I would like to dl all the themes, avatars, dlc and everything I can and keep those whenever my subscription is expired

anything you pay money for is yours to keep period. Beyond that most (if not all) themes and avatars you get are yours to keep.

the things that get locked out are the rest of the free stuff (for the most part)

basically if you go to download it and a pop up comes up with how it will expire then it will expire... if not it's yours to keep ^^

personally I see no reason to stop being a member though as I have gotten well over $4 of entertainment each month from it

If you buy something at a discount, it is yours to keep. The themes and avatars stay as well. You lose any games that you received for free after your subscription expires. They also provide a warning on anything you download that you will lose when your subscription expires.

Do the free DLC for games expire as well? If I snag the free additional content for cuboid and smash cars, do the stop working once my membership ends?
I finally upgraded to Plus today. 15 months for $50 was a great deal.
Missed Spyro 1, Lead and Gold and some minis by a week.

Originally, they said you would keep the DLC but now it looks like it will expire.

So is there anyway to get a f(r)ee month, like on LIVE? or Perhaps another way to get the Killzone 3 3D demo? I just want to try it before I buy it. I'm currently playing Killzone 2 and unfortunately I'm experiencing that "this is the greatest game ever!!" feeling I get when I really like a game. (oops)

Nope I dont think so. Seems like it would be a good idea but I dunno that there'd be enough in any given month to get people to bite. Plus people would just abuse it to be able to play a game like Stacking free for a month.

Buy a 3 month for $17.99 or 15 month for $49.99 thats your only choice!

Has there been proof on this yet?

Ah damn. Oh well, I guess I'll have to make sure I take advantage of the discounts throughout the year then.
