I know this sounds silly, but when the sub expires you still get to keep all the trophies you earned in those games, right? i mean, it's like a rental, so even if you never play them again you should keep your trophies?
So is there anyway to get a f(r)ee month, like on LIVE? or Perhaps another way to get the Killzone 3 3D demo? I just want to try it before I buy it. I'm currently playing Killzone 2 and unfortunately I'm experiencing that "this is the greatest game ever!!" feeling I get when I really like a game. (oops)
I'm pretty sure the KZ3 demo is open to everyone starting Tuesday. Plus just got it a week early.
Has there been proof on this yet?
I don't remember any hard proof, just what I've heard from people. I think there's an expiration date on the DLC.

Of course. Just like with a rental, PSN doesn't know if you still have the game or not. Your trophies will stay.

I'm going to start copy/pasting the current info included in the orig. post. I've only had PSN+ for 2 going on 3 months & I'd like to keep track of when I got what. Thanks again gettinmoney662 for maintaining the info. I really appreciate it.

I'm diggin' Digger HD xD Hero of Sparta Mini is way more fun than I expected.

I just logged into PlayStation Home today, and received a message:
From: [PS Plus]
Subject: Valentine Treat 4U

Happy Valentine's Day from PlayStation Plus. The Game Atelier's Flying Hamster mini is our gift to you and is yours to keep.

I don't know exactly how it works, but looks like a free PSN+ goodie is up for grabs today!

Oh wow! Thanks tumbenhaur for pointing that out. I would've missed out on that if you hadn't.

Hey, does anyone have a link to the PSN+ blog that shows the entire history from present back to the start? I mean the list of each item that has been made available for PSN+. I've Googled & searched through posts here to no avail. I know it exists since I read through the whole thing when I first joined 2-3 months ago. I really want to save that to my Favorites...but it's hiding!

Considering this and I dont really do these types of things... stacking for $15 or PS+ for $50....

Is the 15 month thing auto or do I have to enter some code?

Also can you pay with PSN cards?

You're welcome!
I figured out how to use it, I exited out of Home back to the XMB, and by opening the message there, I can open the attachment, which starts the download of the game. Looks like it's going for $2.99, but free is a much better price!

I just got that message a little while ago while I was playing through the KZ3 demo. I had no idea it was valentines day today. Thanks for reminding my single ass, Sony.

Anyone know if you can buy a $50 PSN card and redeem it for the 12months + 3 bonus months on the playstation store? PS+ looks like a worthwhile investment

Yea they do, but that's a 12 month card whereas if you buy it on the store it says bonus 3 months, unless that's included on the 12 month card without it saying

yeah that was my question.. it really doenst matte to me as I can just enter a credit card, but I would have rather used store credit to get PSN cards and go from there.

I do not see why not. I mean you can pay for PS+ with points I believe sooooo.

This is confirmed for me too. Wow a valentine gift from Sony! I must say, I signed up for PS+ for the Sam and Max deal in January and I have been very impressed with the service so far.

I was worried about this too since the PS+ card clearly states 12 months so I paid for my subscription with 2 $20 PSN cards and a $10 card instead and bought in in the playstation store where it lists the bonus 3 months. I buy my cards from best buy since they give reward points in the gamers club and these cards rarely go on sale.

Just use the credit to get a $50 card and buy Plus through that.

I bought a $50 PSN card last week and used it with no problems to get the 12+3 month PSN sub... (I also buy the cards to get BB RZ credit ;) instead of giving Sony my credit card...)

I really should do this for all my purchases but I'm lazy.
I really should do this for all my purchases but I'm lazy.
I am too that's why I do it at bestbuy.com, I'm pretty sure you usually get free shipping with the card. I buy them (m$ points and $ony whateverthefucktheyares) with reward zone certs. too. $10 off a $60 game just doesn't seem like much to me but $10 off a $20 card is much more appealing.

Anyone know where I can find this?

EDIT: Found it

I've no idea why it was such a pain to find. Maybe I was just having connection issues at that time *shrug*

Hmmm flying Hamster is actually one of the better minis. Just downloaded it and played it and its a pretty fun little shooter(shooter like Gradius or Ikaruga not like Call of Duty). Nice little bonus!

Updated. Also some pretty nice PSN sales:

Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 1 And 2 Bundle – Sale (PS3) (now $2.99, original price $14.99)
Tales Of Monkey Island – Full Season – Sale (PS3) (now $9.99, original price $19.99)
Let’s Golf – Minis – Sale (PS3/PSP) (now $0.99, original price $4.99)
Funky Lab Rat + Trial – Sale (PS3) (now $6.99, original price $9.99)
Blacklight: Tango Down – Sale (PS3) (now $9.99, original price $14.99)
Alien Breed 2: Assault – Sale (PS3) (now $6.99, original price $9.99)
Alien Breed: Impact – Sale (PS3) (now $6.99, original price $9.99)
5-In-1 Arcade Hits – Minis – Sale (PS3/PSP) (now $1.99, original price $3.99)

I'll be picking up Penny Arcade and Alien Breed 2 for sure, debating on Funky Lab Rat and the Tales of Monkey Island season.

I purchased Alien Breed 2 for full price when it came out and loved the old school gameplay, some would say too short, but I think it ended right when I was hitting the downside of the fun curve, so I didn't mind. The demo for Impact didn't sell me though. The third in the trilogy I will wait and see, but leaning towards it.

Bonus hamster for Plus was really nice, it is a fun little side scrolling pew pew.

Sigh PSN keeps putting games on sale right after Steam. Id rather have used my PS credit to buy PA but I just got it on Steam for the same price.

I was hoping that these would be bonuses. Judging by the post detailing the next update, these are our PSN games for the next six months. I'm pretty pissed off over it. As a bonus, it would be pretty cool, but I didn't sign up for Genesis Plus. :bomb:
Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a nice Valentine’s Day. We’re continuing to spread the love around PlayStation Plus into March with four featured games, an early access demo for Playstation Move, and a discount on another PlayStation Network exclusive title – all coming to you on March 1.

As mentioned in an earlier post about the arrival of the SEGA Genesis Collection, PlayStation Plus subscribers will get Sonic the Hedgehog for free and one month early from when it will be released to the rest of the PlayStation Network! Not that it needs much of an introduction, but SEGA is reviving the classic adventures as Sonic battles Dr. Robotnik for control of South Island. Speed through classic levels like “Green Hill Zone” as you unlock trophies in this piece of gaming history. The SEGA Vintage Collection also includes Streets of Rage 2, Golden Axe 2, Altered Beast and many more – all free for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

In addition to Sonic the Hedgehog, we are offering downloads of a sequel of one of our favorite PSone series and a full game trial of one of our signature “Play, Create, Share” titles. We’re happy to release Spyro: Year of the Dragon, from Insomniac Games, which is the third installment in the PSOne series. This is a great follow up for any PlayStation Plus subscribers who downloaded Spyro the Dragon and Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage. Also, be sure to download the full-game trial for ModNation Racers, developed by United Front Games. With the highly active community there are tons of mods, karts and tracks to download and try out. PlayStation Plus subscribers will also get early access to the demo for PlayStation Move Heroes. Explore the familiar landscapes from the smash hit franchises Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, and Sly Cooper – ripped apart and rebuilt for the PlayStation Move Motion Controller.
Finally, our update includes a discount of 80% off on Blast Factor – one of the first PlayStation Network exclusives – and downloads for Enigmo (the new mini from Pangea Software) and Pix’n Love Rush, which are both being offered to PlayStation Plus for free two weeks prior to their release to the rest of the PlayStation Network.
I was hoping that these would be bonuses. Judging by the post detailing the next update, these are our PSN games for the next six months. I'm pretty pissed off over it. As a bonus, it would be pretty cool, but I didn't sign up for Genesis Plus. :bomb:
I guess you only had to read the next post to know that is not the case :)

It does look like the sega games will be replacing the free PSN game for the next few months though. I don't mind really, I feared they'd exhaust the list of existing PSN games so they might as well switch it up from time to time.

I sorta care. There are still a lot of good PSN games to go, really. :L

one thing is we are getting 2 free new minis (ones that haven't been on the psn yet) instead of just one for this update... I know it's not quite a psn game, but well to be fair there are two updates in a month (actually there should be 3 next month) there isn't anything that says that the PSN game has to come at the start of the month o.o;

maybe because we have 3 psn plus updates next month we will get the psn game in the middle to spread out the content so that the end of the month doesn't completely suck.

True. Maybe. I'm not too sad either way, as I've already got my money's worth dozens of times over.

Um, try reading it again...

That's a PSN game, a PS1 game, and two minis. That's what we usually get, although one mini usually comes later. Sure, there is another update for the month, but who knows what we will get, if anything. The PSN game has always been included in the first update of the month.

Sony's treating this like Sonic is the PSN game for the month, and until they say otherwise, that's what I'm going to believe. Trophies or not, I didn't pay for Genesis Plus. I paid for PlayStation Plus. I want PSN games and to me, an old Sega game that everyone and their mom has played isn't a replacement, even if they throw in an extra Mini. If it was one or two months, that's fine, but this is looking like six months straight of old Sega games instead of actual made-for-PSN games. That's nearly half my subscription, and not what I paid for.

My guess is that this Genesis collection will be considered March's free PSN game, even though it's being released over a six month period for some bizarre reason. People would be very upset if these were the free PSN games for six months. Given that Sony has been good about listening to PS+ complaints, I really can't see them doing that.

I hope that's the case.

Yeah I was assuming this was all at once. If we get these all at once or over 2 months its pretty decent....if this is our next several months its hella lame.

How is the Penny Arcade games? I am debating on buying them if they are fun. Reason I am debating is I would have to go and buy a $20 card since I have like a buck in my PSN wallet.

Look at the dates listed that the games will be free for Plus members, each game gets about 4-5 weeks on the Store for you to download. This can't possibly take the place of all free PS+ content during that 6 month period.

First, a new free game is available on a bi-weekly basis, which means these Sega games are probably going to be every other "free" PS+ game along that timeline.

Getting these games for free is not all that great a value either, considering you can currently pick up Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on Amazon for $15.79 and it has all six of these games on there plus over 30 other games on one disc. Do the math, that's under $3 for each Genesis game they're giving us "free."

It's a little disappointing if you ask me, given the fact that these are really more like getting PS1 Classics rather than a new PSN game (such as Shatter or Stacking). Especially for anyone who may already own the Genesis Collection. I nearly bought this a couple weeks ago, glad I didn't now...

I agree; this really looks like these are the monthly free PSN titles. To which I also say, "BOO!" They just had the PSP Genesis Collection on sale (which I bought), never mind the fact that I own these games several different ways (including the Genesis cartridges).

I just hope I'm misinterpreting.
Um, try reading it again...
Ah, sorry. I believed that mini was actually a new PSN game. Guess we will have to see as time passes then. :)
