CAG Threads Featuring Steam Games on Sale Elsewhere - Updated 1/9

Past CAG Steam Deal Threads

Probably because this is the STEAM thread and everyone knew certain users would be quick to talk about the evils of consoles rather than have a balanced and informed discussion on it. I'd personally be a lot happier if the console discussion would stay in the console threads so PC gamers false sense of superiority could be tested and peacocked there rather than here. There's plenty of places on CAG and the internet to strut around in a flame war and declare your e-superiority, can we try to keep the Steam thread from being one of those places.

I'm kinda stunned that no one has made one peep of any of today's console announcements. Some are already saying Sony won -- I agree, but I feel M$ has time to change their stance.

PS4
$400
No Sony restrictions on game lending or resale
Better graphics hardware (known prior)
No Internet connection required (though PS+ required for online multiplayer)

Xbox One
$500
M$ interdiction preventing game lending and person-to-person resale
Free Kinect required (for NSA's PRISM monitoring -- I'm kidding, or am I?)
Gaming functionality disabled if offline for 24+ hours

Full Disclosure: I have some bias to Sony due to access to Japanese titles, though my newest console is a PS2. I have no intention of buying a PS4 or Xbox One. #PCGamingMasterRace
Most folk don't like them consoles round these parts.
Says the guy that posts status updates on CAG for whenever he plays console games ;)
For the record all of that is automatic. I hadn't even realized it was somehow doing that.

Pretty much this. I love consoles, probably always will, but there is no need to talk about them here. Lets try and keep this thread on topic, and only talk about important stuff like hipsters and cardz ;)

Is $20 for Dishonored good value, i want this game!
The MSRP recently dropped. It's bound to hit at least 50% off soon. You may kick yourself for biting at 33%

Not card related...Walking Dead DLC is coming!

http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/06/10/the-walking-dead-400-days-trailer

Now I understand why the main game was bundled for so cheap. I enjoyed it so much I might actually pay full price for this.
I'm not sure how I feel about this, actually. It's a strange idea to have this sort of interbellum between "seasons" and toss a random new story in between them with all new characters, but maybe it makes perfect sense considering the original medium is famous for this sort of narrative non sequitur. The trailer does look good.
I figured it might somehow tie-in to characters being introduced in the next season - just a teaser. Otherwise 5 stories in one episode might seem a little bit forced if they're trying to tell each from beginning to end.

The TWD looks like more of the same, which to me is awesome.  Loved it and will love the new DLC, no matter what!  It could be Dear Esther with cell shading and I will love it!

A bit late to the party with this one, considering it was this price from gamestop for quite a while. Still, might bite now it's through steam ;)
GS version still gave a Steam key, though.
That's probably why he said "a bit late to the party with this one".

When do new trading card games get announced? What time of the day?

This may be on the GMG thread, didn't bother looking - but CreaVures is $1 (with coupon) on GMG, Steam activated.  Looks like a worthy purchase for a dollar but also seems like it's asking to be bundle fodder in the future (especially considering Guns of Icarus from Muse has been bundled multiple times).  CreaVures WAS in Groupee's BAB3 in September 2012 - but if you missed it this isn't a bad deal.

http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/action/creavures/

coupon code: GMG20-JLKSA-7A8HA

Edit:  Not sure if BAB3 ended up supplying a Steam key for CreaVures or not.  It would have been $0.75 from BAB3 so $0.25 more here.

FTL aside, some pretty mediocre games on the list this time around. Who the hell out there actually wants a 1... 2... 3... KICK IT badge?

Monster Loves You at 50% off. With 3 pack, even cheaper.

Not sure, if I want to invest to get the cards, since the market an crash pretty quickly - the demand seems to be quite low.

FTL is a must buy for me now, gonna pick it up tommorrow when the next bonus game from Amazon will be revealed, because I already got Garshasp.

Monster Loves You is on sale for the midweek madness, as is LEGO LOTR.

Anyone want to split a 3 pack of Monster Loves You for $3.33 a piece? Just need one more person. I can host.

Hm might actually wait a little to sell my FTL cards til the initial flood of cards slows a bit. People are undercutting each other like mad.

If you are looking to buy Zach Zero now, the best price is on GMG with the code.   Lowest price so far was like $6.69 - I believe that was preorder+coupon code.  It's been on my wishlist but even with cards $8 is my price for AAA titles only.

I'd be in on a Monster Loves you 3 pack

Haha, I already bought the 3 pack.
I guess I'll host my own 3 pack then. If anyone wants to join in just reply/pm me.

NINJAED.  Thanks Tsel.

Gotta catch em all!

I have 2/5 on cards games this week, so ~+$8 on Steam if I get no damn foils - which will probably be the case because GabeN hates me.

Me too.

Damn we've just done more group-buys than the Steam Trade thread has in two weeks.  Does anyone visit that thing anymore?

OTOH if you get a foil card it's important to sell it right away. The price falls quickly after a few days. I was lucky to get a foil card for Really Big Sky, but I when I put it in the marketplace it was around 10 dollars, when it was selling for 25 bucks a few days earlier.

I will host a Monster Loves You 3 pack. Hit me up via PM. Paypal gift only plz.

Need two people. Need one person.

All gone, thanks!

Wow, the market crashed extremely fast. I was able to get off 3 cards for about a $1.60ish. Now everything is nearly a third of that.
For what game's cards?
FTL and Ugly Baby; I loaded the games as soon as I received the notification about the trading cards for them. The market is dropping rapidly and I doubt it'll rebound to where when it first started or anything close.

It seems the best strategy is to sell now, rather than wait. The more cards for each game pumped into the market slowly erodes the price. I nearly broke even for Monster Loves You last weekend at $10. Now, you can't even recoup costs at the discounted rate.
