New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

between CAG and modding, if you're into older games you'll never actually play a game again
/LIKE.

So true - I can't name how many old games I own on different services like GoG - yep, ain't touched it or even played 'em much.

EDIT:

Septerra Core + Anachronox on GoG, for starters.

Are there any mods that make it better, or a rebuild of the game? I have yet to play any of Half Life!
There's a Source Mod called Black Mesa Source where it's HL1 remade in the source engine.

I think if you own any Source game, including Team Fortress 2 which is F2P, then you can download and play it.

Link here for Black Mesa - Source:

This is NOT entirely done, remember.

Last part is being worked on and will be in the Steam-version.

BTW...if you look at the top of the page and see the Reverbnation banner ad for the singer Sahara Starr...consider clicking on it and buying her music.  She recently started reading my blogs, she is extremely talented and majorly hot, and she is also obsessed with Star Wars.  I didn't believe her about the Star Wars thing until she started sending me pics of some of her action figure collection.

Sweet girl.  Deserves to get noticed.

Oooh, just noticed Day One: Gary's Incident is $5....hidden gem...if gems are turds... still hard to resist.
Hold! That... gem... has nowhere to go but down.

Nation Red is $1.49 (85% off) on Steam. I see a bunch of folks here already own it and have no idea if it's crap or not (since the two aren't especially related around here ;) )
Nation Red is great. The sheer amount of weapons/pickups and upgrades you can get help keep the game fresh. It looks good, feels good, and the developers have literally transformed that game over the years through feedback. What started out as a simple twin stick shmup turned into a game full of content and modes.

Does she play games?

If yes - are you gonna convince her to join CAG?

I still have Bioshock Infinite wrapped up in plastic on my shelf.

It's been there for three months. I just never found the time to sit down and play it.

OMG - go open it and play it ASAP.

My favorite game of 2013.
I really do need to. But University and a part time job had kept me tangled up.

Now that finals are over I think I'll finally get down to playing it. I've just been on my other steam games for a while to actually remember to open it up haha.

Yeah, now that finals are over - go play ASAP!

When you get the chance, PLAY. It's amazing. :D

Also, BAS Pt. 1 was pretty good, as well - despite its brevity.

I really liked Bioshock Infinite and I've never played the first two and don't even like FPS games. (The only other FPS I ever beat was Goldeneye on Wii. (More like Goldeneye Ennui! (But I did like that one also.)))

I wouldn't really say Bioshock games are entirely FPS's - they have some skill/character upgrading RPG elements; and you're likely going use the hell out of your Plasmids/Vigors (Magic).

EDIT:

Also, I used the Skyhook quite a bit for melee in Bs:I, too.

They're a hybrid of FPS/RPG/Action games, if you ask me.

You're so far down the rabbit hole you don't even need the good stuff to get a fix. Let me know if you want to do business

I didn't even use guns at all in Bioshock 2.

Once I got Eve Saver + Fountain of Youth + Drill specialist, there was no need for guns. I was Gandalf with a Drill.

EDIT:

Ok, so I used them for a 1/3 of the game, but they became superfluous at a certain point.

Yep - exactly my point.

Bioshock games are often hard to define what they are b/c they can be played so many different ways.

They can be played like shooters, melee games, focus on using Magic (Plasmids/Vigors), or a combo of these.

In Bioshock 1, I used the Wrench a lot too - especially once I got that Freeze boost.

DEADLY.

EDIT:

Yep - all of them melee weapons can be VERY useful in them Bioshock games.

Wrench in Bio1; Drill in Bio2; and Skyhook in BS:I.

Day 3 damage so far-

Enslaved

Ducktales

Antichamber

I'm just gettin started :D

And no Enslaved was not for cheaper than 15 neuro and snakey eyes ;p

Is Enslaved $5 yet...?
yes! it is 5 bucks ( x 3)

Short Legend of Dungeon review: First off, let me say it's absolutely worth the 1.50 I spent for it. If you like roguelikes, you should like this game. The point is to just go through the dungeon and get as much treasure as you can before dying. Simple art style (I like it). The music is good, can get slightly repetitive...haven't played too much of it yet, but I think it's pretty solidly in that 2nd tier quality of recent roguelikes - not quite spelunky/ftl/binding of isaac territory, but as good as something like teleglitch.

Now I'm pretty damn sure that I bought the Deluxe version of Oblivion: GOTY, but my library says just GOTY DLC under the DLC tab, is that all it says? nothing to differentiate between them, or do I not have the Deluxe version?

I have the deluxe version of the game and GOTY DLC is all that is listed under the dlc tab.

I believe there's something in the download folder in steamapps that lists the dlc (a notepad file or something). But I don't have the game installed at the moment, so I can't check it for you.

What about the "Director's Cut" of The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition. I don't have anything under DLC for that. If Steam made an actual separate page for these things, Enhanced Steam would tell me instantly. :rage:

Update to your Update: Q:\- Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion\Data\DLCList.txt

TY. I just learned a new trick.

wut?

Im confuzed is there more than 1 version of witcher 2?

So is the Walking Dead worth it, now that its 75% off, or has there been better deals?
There was a Telltale Humble Weekly Bundle. It was the BTA game. Can't remember what the price was but it was between $4 - $5 and that was the best deal. I don't know if it's gone lower anywhere else.

FTFY...to better represent the Steam voting community.
I was just going off the last results and 26% voted for DmC, which is clearly cancer. I hate Capcom.

Then again I wouldn't consider Dead Space 2 the cure for cancer . . . so whatever.
