Christa and Omid were the only ones who came with me, even though I didn't care about them at all and was pretty much planning to cut them loose. Ben, whatever, he's dead weight and I hate him. I didn't kill him in the bell tower but I was pretty much on the same page as Kenny that the group was better off without him. But I thought Kenny was my bro! Since the beginning I've gone out of my way to side with him when I could. What does it take to get him on your side? Well
him. It turns out Christa and Omid were my real friends. Kenny can rot.
Honestly I think they need to tune the character alliances a little better if they're going to continue this series. That was actually the third time (Lily's dad, Vernon, and Kenny) that I thought I had done everything possible to be nice to a character, and then they ended up turning on me with the kind of vicious takedown that I would have expected had I done nothing but antagonize them. I know it can't be a perfect system, but if I'm left feeling like characters' reactions to me come out of nowhere, the game's not doing its job.
My boat party was going to be Lee, Clementine, Kenny, Molly, and Vernon if he wanted in. Now it's Lee, Clem, Christa, and Omid. Molly still gets a spot if she turns up again.
Oh, and frankly I don't consider telling Vernon that Clem was my "daughter" a lie. She's not Lee's biological daughter, sure, but they're bonded and he takes care of her. He's as much of a parent to her as anyone in the current world will ever be. And what business of Vernon's was it anyway? That just rubbed me wrong, it seemed really preachy and false of the game to punish me for that "lie."
