[CUSTOMSPOILER="General Info"]
Q. What is MyPunchcard?
A. MyPunchcard is a part of the Xbox LIVE Rewards program open to all members. Through MyPunchcard, Xbox LIVE Rewards members can get rewarded for performing a specific set of actions outlined in the Punchcard for each offer. Once all punches are earned on a specific Punchcard, get rewarded!

Q. Who is eligible for MyPunchcard?
A. All Xbox LIVE Rewards members are eligible to participate in MyPunchcard. To start earning punches for completing specific actions, join Xbox LIVE Rewards now for free if you haven’t already: http://rewards.xbox.com.

Q. How does MyPunchcard work?
A. Each Punchcard has a set amount of punches required in order to complete it. Once a specific action is completed and a punch is earned, it can take up to 96 hours for it to appear on the MyPunchcard page. Xbox LIVE Rewards members are only eligible to receive a Reward once all punches have been earned and the entire Punchcard is complete. There is a limit of one Reward per one completed Punchcard, unless otherwise noted.

Q. Where can I find the available Punchcards?
A. To check out the available Punchcards, log into the Xbox LIVE Rewards site and visit the MyPunchcard page. The amount of available Punchcards each month will vary.

Q. Do Punchcards expire?
A. Yes. Once a Punchcard expires, no further punches will be provided for actions completed after that date. Expiration dates for each Punchcard vary and are listed on the MyPunchcard page found here.

Q. I completed a Punchcard! How do I claim my Reward?
A. If the Reward is Microsoft Points, they will appear under Pending on your MyRewards page by the 15th of the following month. If the Reward is anything other than Microsoft Points, an email will be sent to your contact email listed here with instructions to redeem your Reward. The Rewards for completion of a Punchcard will vary with each Punchcard offer. Rewards will not be provided during the Punchcard offer period.

April's PlaytoEarn Punchcard
Check your status - May take 3-5 days to update
XBLA DLC purchases do not count toward the April Punchcard - source

Cornelius's list of sources for last-minute XBLA purchase ideas:
  • The Wikipedia page for XBLA releases, sorted by MSP.
  • Xbox.com's sorted list of best-selling XBLA titles.
  • Major Nelson's most-recent list of top 20 XBLA games purchased.
  • The Twisted Pixel bundle ... seriously, it's 3600 MSP worth of games for 800 MSP!
  • The DOTW for April 30th, listed on our OP, as well as Major Nelson's blog, which will go live around 4/30 @ 2am PDT, and be valid for 14-15 hours up through the promo's deadline between 4pm-5pm'ish PDT (depending how they've configured the reporting servers to account for GMT).
Note I was going to also suggest the "Angry Birds Trilogy" sale starting 4/30, but since it's a GoD title, it doesn't count.
  • Games your friends have picked up. Use the "Compare Games" feature on their profile, which will list their games in order of most-recently played by default.
  • Atari-published games, which you should assume will get de-published as soon as its game licenses/IP are sold off in bankruptcy court.
  • Games NOT found on compilation discs, because you can often find them "cheap" on eBay or used-game retailers. See this XBLA thread post (under "XBLA Discs") for more info & lists.
  • And finally, TylerH1701's list of XBLA games yet to go on sale
Hope this helps anyone's last-minute purchase dilemma. ;)

FAQ:
_________________________________________________

Q: So what is this and how much does it cost?
A: Xbox Rewards is a free loyalty program run by ePrize for the Microsoft Corporation. They offer free and Gold Xbox Live members "rewards" for completing survey, making qualified purchases, or other actions during a specified period.

Q: Where do I start?
A: You should start by reviewing the official FAQ. Once you are done there, and you have decided to join, you are ready to start earning rewards.

Q: I never got my reward for my first purchase after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ. You will only earn that reward for your first purchase from the marketplace ever. If you made a purchase before joining the program, you are out of luck.

Q: I never got my reward for activating Netflix after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ and some discussion with @XboxSupport You will only earn that reward for the first time you ever activate Netflix on your specific gamertag. If you did that before joining the program, you are out of luck. If you are still good, you have to have had Netflix activated for 1 month and have watched 2+ hours of streaming content during that time period.

Q: When will this end?
A: According to the official T&C, the program is scheduled to end at 3:59 p.m. GMT on June 30, 2012. It is possible that the program will be renewed or go after that, but there hasn't been more info on that yet.

Q: Will my Xbox LIVE Rewards Points expire?
A: Rewards Points do expire, so be sure to use them by June 30, 2012.

Q: How do I use my expiring Microsoft Points first?
A: Promotional points with expiration dates are automatically redeemed first before purchased points. [source]

I've got 3 punches on my time card which took some time to update so you should be fine.
I am not really concerned about getting an avatar award much at all, as it will most likely be pretty lame.
I'm not either, but I figured I'd burned through some XBLA backlog for once and maybe get into whatever the VIP thing is (probably also lame, but eh, it's not really a big deal). I'm expecting a really ugly XBL Rewards shirt or hat, because you know, everyone likes to put ads on their avatars:drool:

I don't really care about the avatar award ether, but if I'm going to do the other two I may as well get that one as well so I get whatever the bonus is.

As of Thursday, I had all 4 of my 5 hour gameplay punchcards completed...it's helpful having 3 kids. :)

I have to admit that I'm curious enough about the VIP thing to go ahead and complete the other two offers....even though it probably WILL be a lousy avatar item.
I'm sitting out the whole punchcard deal. I've bought 130 arcade games over the life of my console, and they just now decide to make a reward for it? Besides, I'm saving my cash for my vacation in June.
I have about 350. Quit yer bitchin'.

These things are better late than never... what you're implying is that they should never come up with a new promotion because, you know, they didn't do it right at the beginning.

This is exactly why I always say gamers are the most entitled bunch out there.

Not really. We buy our games. All businesses have these type of complaints. Companies rarely reward existing customers because there is more profit in obtaining new ones in most cases. His complaint is the same that all companies get...and it's a valid one.

Gamers really aren't more "entitled" than any other consumer group.

maybe just more vocal about it;)

honestly, I think that it's great they are at least doing SOMETHING. Better late than never, so why would you not want to get in on it? If you are going to buy anymore XBLA games, then I see no point in waiting other than a possible sale, but even still, the 800MSP free kinda makes up for it. Seems a waste to pass it by simply because you are annoyed with them, but it's your choice I suppose.

Yeah it's an opportunity to buy games that have never gone on sale. I'm considering minecraft since the biggest sale that game would get anytime soon might be 50% if lucky....so 800 msp free covers that. Now I just have to find the other 3200 points...

I was thinking Terraria, but that one's bound to go on sale eventually. Perhaps I should think on what's old, but has never been discounted. Any ideas guys?

Does anyone know if the kinect sports gems count as arcade games? It looks like I'll be 120 points short of the 3200 after my 4 arcade games, and have been waiting on Zombie Darts (despite the known criticisms).

Edit: According to the source for DLC not qualifying in the first post, the link showing all arcade games includes kinect sports gems, so I would think it's safe to assume they count. These would be great additions if you're only 100-200 points shy of 3200, and didn't want to buy a full price arcade game.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but Telltale games is releasing Poker Night 2 on the 23rd. May be a good addition to those needing another game to download. Or those that just want more Glad0s sarcasm (she's the dealer).

Bought motocross madness when it released last week and I still don't have a punch for anything. Suppose I'll worry about it later this month if anything. Does anyone have a screen shot of what it looks like when one of your cards is "punched in"?

Cleared them in my first 3 days. I merely changed my 360's power settings to turn off after 6 hours, started an XBLA game, and then left it on pause until the machine turned off. Repeat 3 more times. Voila! :D

Question about the "birthday gift" ... does it change between Tier 2 (Champion) and Tier 3 (Legend), or is it the same for everyone? I'm still down at "champion", and wondering how hard I should try to acquire points by May 1st, other than to have an extra 1% rebate. Thanks!

A Raptr account helps with such things, as well (at least to some degree). :booty:

I've been using one, but sometimes the time is WAY off, so it hasn't been the greatest help.

Well now my last punch is filled. Honestly, I don't know when I played so much, but glad I can stop playing arcade titles for a bit and start working on the rest of my backlog;)

Buying Poker Night 2 to fulfill my last 800 point punch and fourth game punch. I think I'm close to my second 5 hour punch, let's see how many hours I can put in on Poker Night 2.

Re: the last punchcard (the 4x 800 MSP card) If I buy 4 games that are around 400-500 MSP - does that count for both punchcards? (i.e. after making those purchases I would complete the punch-card for 4x 400 MSP with those purchases, and before I did anything else I would have at least 2 punches on the 800 MSP card?

Has anyone actually had their "purchases" punchcards start filling in yet to confirm that it's cumulative on the 4x 800 punchcard? I don't think I would want to bother with it at all otherwise, but if it's cumulative it would be easier pill to swallow for the extra 800 points. Especially if Best Buy also has that 400 Bonus point offer going on this week.

Yes, purchases you make towards the 4X400 punchcard also count towards the 4X800 punchcard. Mine have started filling in which is how I found out.

Great. So I think I'll be able to do this.

Can definitely grab 2 or 3 good sale games this week with no regrets. Hopefully next week's sales don't disappoint me - after I commit myself to spending these points. :booty:

I don't mind buying 1 or 2 games at 800 MSP if need be of course, but obviously sales are the way to go whenever possible. I can't believe some of the games that are 1200 MSP.

So my punch card for # of games has been filled for like a week...and I've been checking daily for my other punches (2/4 for MSP spending, expecting 3/4)...

So checked today and now I only have 3/4 for purchased games and still don't have my 3rd punch for MSP spending...send Xbox Rewards twitter account a message, but this really makes no sense...

Anyone have any ideas why suddenly a punch would disappear after being there for over a week? At least my billing page backs me, so I should have no worries, but it still is really weird....

I, as well as another couple people in this thread, mentioned earlier that we were given 4 of the game punchcards after purchasing only 3 games. I just noticed that I lost my 4th punch (which is fine by me since I've only bought 3 games). Maybe they were going through and correcting these errors and they got over zealous and started removing them from people who legitimately bought 4.

I can also confirm this. Just had a punch taken away as well, but it was legitimate, as I had only purchased 2 games and it was showing 3 punches..

Now I'm 800 pts shy of the one promo, and 2 games from the other promo.. looks like I need to look for (2) 400 pt games. Hopefully some good sales next week. Luckily, Guardian Heroes appears to be a price drop, so I can fall back on that for one if nothing else..

No matter what I do I'll have to buy a full price game to finish out the 3200MSP punch card. Guess I'll buy Poker Night 2 since I enjoyed Full House Poker so much. I just hope they fixed all the major issues the original had.

Also, anyone else having issues with gaming hours being tracked? I know I've put in enough for at least a couple punches by now but I'm still at one. Hoping it'll still fill out before the end of the month since I'm able to fully dedicate to XBLA games since platting Ni No Kuni over the weekend.

i'm a bit too busy to sift through threads today (chasing my 2 yr old around the house), so i'll ask anyways, if its been answered please shoot/hang me. Has anyone elses punch-cards this month been redacted? for instance, i had all 4 punches for buying 4 games 400+ MSP each minimum, now i only have 3? Thx as always.

(EDIT) i see some people have had similar issues, but i bought 4 games for 400+ MSP. somehow i feel jipped? lol, guess i'll fill it once i complete my last 2 800+ punches anyways, all well :p

Over in the XBLA thread, it was suggested I offer my list of "Arcade Ideas" over here in the Rewards thread. Therefore, check out the OP for a repost of that list. :)

New survey is live.

Their FAQ doesn't have any info yet on what May's offers will be, though they have rearranged it a bit, giving MyPunchcard its own section.

That bodes well.

Fingers crossed we'll see a DLC based punchcard in the future.

I'm pretty sure it's about renewing your Xbox live gold subscription, I could read something like "renew and get double points" before logging in. I don't know if it means MSP or XP in multiplayer games.

PS: I was able to see that on the italian version.

EDIT: it's the may offer, not a punchcard. You get double MSP for renewing. 20 MSP for one month instead of 10 MSP and up to 400 MSP instead of 200 for a 12 month renew.

I really hope this isn't it. I've been cruising by on free trials, and have been saving my cards until they dried up. Heres hoping it's just something else in addition to the punchcards.
Still no word on what the offers/punchcards will be for May? :(
I was surprised yesterday to still see the April Punchcards linked under the current offers.

Then again, we don't even know for sure if Punchards will be a monthly thing yet.

Tweet from yesterday that info on the next Punchcard is coming.

Given the fact that they added a MyPunchcard section to their FAQ and one of the answers mentions "The amount of available Punchcards each month will vary." makes me think it will be monthly (though hopefully that number isn't 0 for any months).

They might've wanted to process all the April punchcards before replacing the page content with May's. Shouldn't be too difficult to include listings for both April and May on the MyPunchcard page, or have an intermediate page that jumps to separate April and May pages, but who knows how they're planning to keep the site updated. The Punchcard page says 3-5 days to update, while the FAQ says 96 hours (4 days). It shouldn't be too difficult to have a daily check run, but whatever. They apparently need to work out some kinks, given that people got purchase punches they shouldn't have, which were then taken back.

A couple people in the DOTW thread said they saw May's offer was double points for renewing XBL subscriptions, though I don't see that on the Rewards site. I see the regular rebates and a Coming Soon in the section where they generally put the current offer. I think someone that had seen it mentioned they were in Europe, perhaps it's different offers for different places?

Yeah, isn't that nuts? I saw talk in their forums (& in our own XBL deal of the week thread) about double-bonuses for renewing expiring subscriptions, but it was mentioned that the US wasn't included.

I had tweeted them last week and said I was hoping they'd announce this month's awards before I went to work, and they responded with a laugh and that "We'll have news about more May rewards soon." Apparently "soon" is a very subjective term.
