They added a Steam key for the Lunar Pack to one of the Indie Royales. Whichever one had one of the games in the Lunar Pack. Was it the Lunar Bundle?

Does anyone here own a GTX 560? When I built my computer, I put a GTX 650 in there because of a tight budget. The MicroCenter near me has an evga 560 (open box) for $73.96. Is that a good deal?

I paid around $270 for my EVGA 560 Ti around 1.5 years ago. Not sure if that tells you anything.

Nvidia, ha! I scoff at the name. Everyone knows AMD FX eight-core processors and Radeon graphics cards will outperform anything when paired together. ;)

*ducks*

compared to their new prices that looks pretty good, and usually microcenter isnt too far off from newegg except on big deals. Grabbed a gtx 660 from there a few months back and couldnt be happier

had to dump my radeon, which while it had good performance its multi-monitor output just flat out sucked, and i needed to be able to do dual monitor+mirroring of one through hdmi, and at least the series of radeon's i had cant do that without tearing and hokey adapters

What game specifically in which of these packs did they add a Steam key(s) for?

A single key that activates Lunnye Devitsy / Wake was added for people who bought the Valentine's 2.0 bundle.
I know dearest venum is half-joking. This is really more of a wider comment.

I don't simply don't understand the console hate. Calling people console peasants and just being complete dicks about the situation does nothing to further the community - it continues to splinter it for no reason. Console gaming has a lot of positives. For a lot of people it's simpler to set up, plays to the lowest technological denominator in their house, and allows for worry free gaming from a couch, without messing with drivers/mods/updates, games not working, etc. Even though I made my own beast of an HTPC with full XBMC interface blah blah blah - my X360 gets used for Netflix/media constantly, and my wife games exclusively on console - because it's easy turn it on and go - no mouse and keyboard required, no joy2key/xpadder. You can also enter the console market for the price of a good video card, and if you're smart about the game deals and patient, you can easily never pay more than $15 for a title (yes even AAA titles). Sure you won't find something for $2.49 or even $7.49, but it is what it is. The console exclusives are no slouches either. Last of Us, Uncharted, RDR, Demon Souls (before Dark Souls came out), if you're into jRPGs you pretty much HAVE to own a console if you want any that are worth a damn - you can get tons of hours of gaming for just slightly higher prices. Just because I own 500 games on Steam does not mean I got my monies worth. It just means I own a ton of games I'll likely never play.

If we want to be elitist in this thread, shouldn't a "REAL" gamer own both? Or do we just want to wave CAG badges around? Because then you'd have to actually do a true time/cost analysis - and include things like entry prices (including total PC price), and then actual hours gamed vs cost. Hell the best CAG in the world is someone who's playing free-flash and F2P games only, RIGHT?! Please... first and foremost who cares, secondly, I am just absolutely tired of the worthless debate.

I just waited 2 years before moving over to the new generation - and it was worth it, I got a ton of great exclusives for super cheap and had a box that everyone in my house could operate from the remote control (and didn't require the use of my knowledge of Linux and a usb media center IR reader) to use. Also the majority of my RL friends game on console, so the price associated is well worth being able to play games with people I actually know. If anything PC gamers should encourage console gamers - especially since that's where the majority of AAA development comes from (and even a good deal of indie dev thanks to the now dead XNA - which is an extremely approachable dev platform).

In short, PC gamers really need to get over themselves - especially in this thread. I gladly support gaming wherever you're most comfortable and with what works best for your household and enjoyment.
I was mostly joking, yes.

My comment really came from 1) my personal perspective on things, and 2) being hard on spoder. Mr. spoder is usually more of a cheapass than me (not that that's a bad thing), for example, I bought Risen 2 for $5 in that Nuuvem bundle. He said "I'll wait for a complete pack". I suppose that's a valid line of reasoning, but that's some grade-A cheapassery there. Now when you take his normal cheapassery into account, his knowledge and experience with computers, lack of a wife and children (unless he's a very secretive chap and has been hiding them from us all this time), etc, it really does come down to "$300-500 for a couple exclusives".

And that's how I see it connected to me, and most other PC gamers here. A lot of us don't have those needs that involve "easier to set up", "accessible for the kids/wife", etc. We have strong, capable, usually expensive PCs that can play 99% of the games that a PS3/4 or Xbox 360/One play, setting up a game on our PCs is easy enough for us (bar perhaps Rockstar shitports), and we know how to set up multiplayer, even local multiplayer, just as easily on many games as you would on a console. When my 9-year-old cousin comes over we hook up to the TV and play Awesomenauts co-op, or Trine, etc, or we just take turns on shit. I swear the kid has ADD (no offense to those who actually do, but I honestly think he does) and he still has no problem sitting down and using the mouse and keyboard. He was playing Battlefront 2 last time he was over like a pro on kb/m, and it was probably his first time playing a FPS on kb/m.

Anyways, like I said above, to many of us here, buying a new console for the few exclusives it has comes down to $300-500 for a small handful of games, some of which may not even be that great. Personally, when I have a wife and kids, I'd probably just make a PC work for the family. I have a 360 controller wireless receiver, so four controllers can hook up to it at once, I'd shop for games that have good local co-op, hook the PC up to the TV, etc. Or hell, if I had the money, everyone would have their own setup. If all of that is just wishful thinking and didn't work out, or the wife and kids simply didn't like it, sure I'd buy a console for the family. I support that line of reasoning.

Otherwise, I might as well preorder 10 games for full price on Steam for the price you'd be dropping on a console. I'd probably get some cool hats.
Yay for GPU implosion.

My (fairly small) PS3 collection. The only game in there that's on PC is SFxT which was free with my fight stick; everything I've paid for is a console/PS3 exclusive. Also got a handful of PSN titles and PS Plus offerings, but a lot of the PS+ games are things I already owned on PC.

I have a GTX 570 I got almost this time last year from amazon for around $250. Don't know if that helps you or not.

Comparing PC game prices to console exclusives is like comparing apples to oranges. You can't get that same experience on PC, so it's not exactly fair to compare them. If the experience isn't worth it to you, then so be it.. but for me the PS3 exclusives are worth it, I wouldn't have it any other way.. unless they got ported to PC which isn't going to happen.

Also, there are more than a "couple" exclusives that are worth it ;)

I think there are at least 15 or so that are must haves, depending on what genres you like.

Assuming the card doesn't have any flaws due to being open box (most likely won't). My 560 which just died was able to play many games smoothly* (to my standards, probably not necessarily to Idio's) at max settings or almost maxed, 2048x1152 res while powering a second monitor at the same res, AND paired with a Core2 duo. So yes that's an excellent deal as long as you don't mind the card being between 1.5 and 2 generations old depending on how you look at it.

To clarify on open box. Assuming it's not a return due to broken and it's simply an open boxed item, it won't have flaws.

Thanks for the input on the 560! Judging by this list, the 560 is ~75% faster than my current 650. I'm going to probably pick it up next week because I'm bogged in exams this week.

I was excited to have a console companion in the PC thread until I realized that Red Dead Redemption is not in that pic. That's unforgivable man.

It's one of the omissions I've definitely been looking to fill, but with how big my backlog is I've been waiting for a cheap GOTY copy that just hasn't come around.

Thankfully, that picture isn't high enough res for you people to tell how many of those are still sealed

I wouldn't be tremendously surprised if it ended up on PS+ in the next year.

I think I got RDR base game for $12 last year and ordered a used copy of Undead Nightmare for like 8 bucks. So $20 for them both wasn't bad.

Coincidentally, the whole "overpayment" of console games is just a lie really.

Last year I traded in around 30 games from my PS3 backlog into Best Buy during one of their 100% promo things. I did it because I actually ended up getting around $30-40 MORE than what I actually paid for all those games and I can always go back and rebuy those games if I ever clear my PS3 backlog (which PS+ is making unlikely).

Point being that on CAG you can game for cheaply on whatever system you want.

I've been all the sides of CAG. First PS3, got a 360 and built a PC recently. I'll tell you what the best part of being a PC CAG is, not needing to get out of my house to get a deal. :D Especially when you as young as me and can't get a license yet. Sucks needing to rely on other people.
A single key that activates Lunnye Devitsy / Wake was added for people who bought the Valentine's 2.0 bundle.
Thanks. They really need to add like some sort of auto notification for all these damn bundles.

Like hey remember this bundle you purchased 6 months ago, well we just added steam keys for this game.
Does anyone here own a GTX 560? When I built my computer, I put a GTX 650 in there because of a tight budget. The MicroCenter near me has an evga 560 (open box) for $73.96. Is that a good deal?
That strikes me as good price/performance. That said, if you don't feel the need to upgrade right now, waiting is always an option. One criticism of buying a GTX 5x0 card right now is that the 1-1.25 GB of RAM will likely limit the longevity of the card going forward (that said, the main thing atm that punishes 1GB cards is Skyrim* mods). However, given the price, that seems forgivable.

Barring nice one-off prices that that, I would recommend anything short of a 2GB GTX 650 Boost atm (recently seen for $130), which is only a bit behind a GTX 660 ($170-180 atm). A GTX is equivalent/better than a GTX 570 (in games, not compute), but with 2GB.

*My 896MB GTX 260 hit the RAM limit with unmodded Skyrim, 1680x1050 ran decently (45+ fps) but 1920x1200 hit the RAM limit and pulled ~26 FPS. No MSAA.

Oh dear me. People are gonna be able to see how many posts I have without visiting my account page.

People will know that I have no life.

EDIT: At the time that I posted this, a CAG's post count was displayed under their avatar. They have since removed it. Which makes this post look like the ravings of a madman.

Haha I agree.  The site is definitely cleaner now but I wish I could revert to the black background again.  I also don't like how the website is not optimized to use the full horizontal space of my browser/screen, which makes for tons of wasted space :(

Yeah I am most definitely not digging the white at all plus we no longer see each others Trade Rep and Tenure... I don't know about this Cheapy..

ON TOPIC HOWEVER... perhaps the Summer Sale will make things better. Eh? Eh? haha

where did our trade rep go? as someone who constantly trading games on the trade forums, I like to see the users rep right below their avatar to know if they are trustworthy or not. Also our profile page shows personal info I would rather not share and I haven't found where to change it, so its not visible to everyone who visits my profile.

I suppose someone should mention the Batman series is on sale and that there are four new games added to the trading scheme game.

If you missed Dark Souls from Amazon... Not nearly as good a deal but hey it is what it is. And if you ACTUALLY play the game, you can EASILY get your money's worth from it.

Which games were added, I missed that. Looks like Fairy Solitaire is one of them?

I don't like change to begin with..... and this white background isn't making it any easier on me!

Also, I cannot find the settings to alter how many posts per page. :(

(edit: Just read in the 3.0 upgrade thread they are adding back in a dark skin soon.  Hopefully the posts-per-page option gets added back just as quickly)
