GGT 258 Continues to Celebrate Leda's Birthday with Shots Shots Shots!

Muramasa on Wii is honestly one of my top games this gen, so I think I can recommend the Vita version by extension. Especially if you're in the Vanillaware mood already.

On the fence with Dragon's Crown. If there's a good GGT crowd on PS3 I might grab it, though.
I'm with you. I adored the first go around on Wii. I haven't done enough homework to know if there's anything extra compelling to get me to pick it up on Vita, but I know it'll be there and be good when I'm ready for it.

I'm annoyed at Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D right now. I'm on 7-7 but I can't advance until I find three switches to open up the next level. They are scattered throughout 7-5,7-6,7-7. I got the one on 7-7. I'm just aggravated I have to play those levels again, I'm getting to the point where I just want the game to end.
Yeah, I decided to pass on that one. Have gotten very annoyed with the few platformers I've played lately (especially Rayman Origins), and by all accounts DKCR is pretty tough/frustrating. I just don't think I have the patience for platformers any more.

Anyway, I did decide to go for the Journey/The Unfinished Swan bundle. Downloading now. Will probably fire up Journey after I beat Killzone 2 as I could use a change of pace.

New translation.

Dedicated jump button.

Eventually 4 new characters via DLC.

Trophies.

I think that's most of it.

Oh, awesome. Thanks, man.

I second those recommending beating Journey in one sitting. I underestimated how close I was to beating it, and while I still found the ending to be quite gorgeous, I regretted not playing straight through.

Cool.  I'll try and play through Journey maybe Monday or Tuesday of next week as my girlfriend has take home exams.

I'm all for shorter games these days.  Stuff around 10 hours is the sweet spot for me. But short download games like this, chapters of the Walking Dead etc. are great too for just being able to blow through in an evening.

I get pretty burnt out on longer games as they end up taking me a month or two to get through, or several months for the really long stuff like Skyrim or Borderlands as I have a hard time getting more than 5-10 hours a week in anymore.

So is there a contingency of GGT members buying Dragon's Crown? I mean, I'd buy it just to play with Panzer cuz that's how much I like him but knowing that other people are jumping in would be cool.

That review says que no hay crossplay, so if frost wants to do something weird like get it for Vita...

Like whoknows, I'd buy it for Vita if I get it.

Especially after reading about how they implemented the stuff that uses the touch screen in the PS3 version.

I'd planned on getting it for Vita, but with all the couch co-op happening in my house lately, it seems a shoe-in for the big screen.

Apparently it allows cross saves but lacks cross play or cross buy. Cross. Croissant.

I've got it PO for PS3. Not planning on Vita version until maybe later...damn thing could be free for PSN+...

Try to beat Journey in one sitting, yo. It's only a couple hours.

Definitely should try it that way since the game is so atmospheric. And short.

I'm too scared to play Journey cuz stranger danger.

It's hard as fuck to play it co-op since few, if any, will stay until the end, but if you can find just that right person, you will get the trophy. Probably worth it...

It's been getting good reviews overall. I want.

If it was cross buy/cross play, I'd be there day 1.

Forcing me to choose? I'll go with the portable platform that has better control mechanics and costs less if I buy it.

And there's no way it ends up as PS+ anytime soon. That'd be ridiculous. What the hell makes you think that?

Because Vita games all go F2P on PSN+. I'm getting it on PS3 first for sure, so I have plenty of incentive to wait however long that takes.

What better control mechanics does it have? Touch/tilt? lol
Yes touch. I'll take a well designed fun to play game that has a better control scheme any day. Knock it all you want, but it works for me.

Hidden items gleam in the backdrop and are uncovered when you tap them on the Vita's touch screen, adding an incongruous appeal akin to a "find the hidden objects" adventure game. Later on in the quest, you'll need to keep an eye on the backgrounds for rune symbols, which can be tapped and combined for various status-boosting effects.

These mechanics work well on the Vita, but they're somewhat annoying in the PlayStation 3 version. To make up for the lack of a touchscreen, PS3 players need to use the right analog stick to sweep a cursor across backgrounds while using the left shoulder buttons to click on hotspots. It's clunky in practice, and breaks a flow that remains consistent in the Vita release.

On what planet? There's a ton of retail games that have never been free on Vita. We keep getting free PSP games though! And good shit that's been on sale 74x before so when people stop buying it in sales, they start giving it out free.

Alright up to 8-2 in DKCR3D. I'm going to wrap this up. Wondering if I should go back to Paper Mario Sticker Star. It's quirky but I feel like my patience for it was slowly wearing. Up to 2-5 in that. I really want to start Metal Gear 3 on Vita. Ah decisions decisions.

Hey nice. Used mine on Mario Party. Yay, rock solid AAA Nintendo prices!
I was tempted by that too but I have Mario Party 7 which works just fine for the occasional want to play it. I've lost my copy of Double Dash though so I needed a Mario Kart fix :( Honestly woulda preferred the B2G1 deal on Wii Games but my store didnt have Brawl or Mario Party 9 in stock so it wasnt really worthwhile.

I think my biggest problem with Sticker Star is that every boss was a puzzle, but you weren't given much in the way of clues as to what to use til you were in the battle. You basically had to look up what to bring in a guide or else you were most likely screwed. I actually had to fight the final boss twice because I ran out of stickers that could affect him. That's just a piss poor system IMHO.

Really tempted, love Vanillaware, but TALES! If I beat that soon enough, I might trade it in towards Dragon's Crown.

If anyone here gets a Killzone Mercenary Beta key for the closed beta that started today and for some reason doesn't want it... good old Frost will take it off your hands.

If I end up getting Dragon's Crown it will be on PS3 since that would make me more likely to play through it, plus then I could play with some of my buddies if they get it since none of them have Vitas.

I know a lot of people didn't like Sticker Star but I thought it was a pretty fun game, I'd recommend giving it another go for sure some time. Granted, MGS 3 is an amazing game as well so no matter which one you do first you'll be playing a good game imo :p
