mmmm, dat Project Eternity...

A decent way through Graces F and loving the hell out of it.  Not the greatest JRPG ever, but given the dearth of JRPGs this gen it's a breath of fresh air.  Especially love that Titles are finally worth while and this is probably the first Tales game I've invested time/effort into cooking thanks to the Mixer.

Took a quick break from Earthbound
farming for Sword of Kings right now
to start Tales of Xillia. Chose to start off with Jude, he's likable enough. I like the Quick Save option, the combat is what I would expect from just dabbling a little into Tales..meaning fun to play with and easy enough to get used to. I like the quick dodge and land behind enemy trick that Jude can pull off, makes it fun to try to time those with enemy attacks. So far, so good. This is going to be the first Tales game I beat, so I hope it is a good one.

Well finally finished Hyperdimension Neptunia.Gameplay is tedious to the extreme. The good was the characters were funny, but most of the game refences just felt really half-assed.

Since finishing that decided to start Persona 4 which is good with the only negative so far being that VA for Chie is just terrible.

I tiried going after Dahaka in Taejin's Tower in FFXIII with my Fang/Lightning/Vanille group (maxed out their 3 main classes) and just kept getting obliterated by him. I dropped out Lightning for Sazh for haste and other assorted buffs and he went down so freakin' quick.

Also, that is great news that Hillis is in ToX. That means I have a reason to get the game now.

I'm pretty sure I've heard Laura Bailey, Ali Hillis, and Kari Wahlgren in Defiance (as EGO, Rosa, and Eren), but I haven't seen any official cast list to verify.

Do you think it's bad compared to the new voice or just bad in general?

Cuz I'll take the second as a sane opinion.

It won't start crying till next month when they charge you, though my wallet is going to be doing the same since I went for the $150 level too.
Hah, that's true. I guess it's my commitment that's making my wallet preemptively cry

Anyone else speculating about who "Take-B", the character designer, may be? Going by the drawn portrait and princess character art alone, I want to say that it's Akihiko Yoshida, but I guess we'll see.

Some of the settings and designs are riddled with cliches of most modern high fantasy epics, but that doesn't bother me all that much. I'll gladly back anything with Uematsu involved. I just need to decide on how much I want to toss toward it. That final stretch goal seems pretty awesome.

The only thing pretenious about Project Phoenix is the video they have on there.

Hey guys! We want to make an Ooooooooooold School RPG with like these guys who were invovled with Halo and Wolverine and other great games while set to epic music. Nobody else is doing this on kickstarter like we are!

And then a Japanese man shows up with an australian accent.

This whole thing feels like a troll.

Yeah that was pretty juvenile, but the internet eats that kind of shit up. "Old school JRPGs something something gameplay > graphics." :dunce:

And the lead game designer's only experience being L.A. Noire isn't something I'd brag about. But whatever, it looks promising nonetheless.

I don't see the problem L.A Noire. It had it's flaws, but was a solid game. I rather that be his only experience instead of something like say Aliens:Colonial Marines.

I remember LA Noir, I wanted to like it so much, and it ended up being one of the worst games I ever played.

speaking of worst games I ever played, SMT4 is one of the best games I ever played!!!

33 hours in and I just passed the point where the guide ends, so now I'm going the rest of the game book-less!!!

honestly tho this game is just so good!!!

a ton of fun and genuinely brings me joy and happiness when I play it, reminding me that I actually do love video games!!

it also has a Pac Man in Shibuya!! sha-boo-yah!!!

I beat SMTIV a few days ago. For my first time playing a SMT game, it was pretty decent. Nothing too spectacular, mind you.

I'll be glad to be done with Hexyz Force when I am. Just have the final section left, I hope.

Game has gotten pretty tedious. Haven't been able to fuse any new armor for probably about 5 hours of gameplay, and it hasnt made any difference at all.

Dragon Age 2 isn't really going anywhere. Still in the first city, just doing missing persons quests. "Find my wife! Find my brother! Help out the guard!" Yawn.

Probably 10+ hours into the game, and there's no major threat, nor anything interesting. Hell I'm still using the greatsword I got way back when.

Like, this feels like a troll post, you know?

Isn't like 10 hours like halfway through the game? I don't remember the game being more than about 20-25 hours, if that.

I forgot there was a guide for SMT4. I had taken it with me on a trip. But I'm probably near the end of the guide as well, considering I'm 28 hours in.

So far, I found it pretty easy. Other than the beginning 30 minutes, and getting pre-empted attacks by the mobs of monsters, I haven't had much trouble. The weaknesses/strengths system seems easier than I remember, and are pretty much stayed the same from Strange Journey.

The part I like the least is the overworld map, because you can't easily see some barriers, and you can't get the jump in battle.

And so far, I've been pumping mostly STR, with like 95 STR, 45 DEX, and like 10-15 everything else.

that's prolly coz u're into that desu desu kawaii ne anime bullshit uguu~

go back and play Tales of Akihabra or something

Uh, yeah, OK. Haha, assumptions are pretty nifty things, I'd say.

I play all RPGs; Japanese and Western, strategy and turn-based, you name it. The game is good. There is no denying that, but it's nothing amazing.

If anything, it piqued my interested on other SMT and Persona games.

Well one thing for sure is the others have way better monsters designs. Some of the new designs are a joke like Lucifer for example.

What? After playing this long in the first Dragon Age we already had the king betrayed and dead, and the threat of the blight.

In this game, I'm....running errands, doing mercenary work, and looking for missing people.

Playing Witched 2 on 360 and Atelier Rerorona on PS3 and not having much fun with either. Witches is kicking my ass and Atelier is weird/boring. Not a very good month for me as far as gaming goes.
