I finished Dragon Age 2?

Nah, I don't have any patience for that kinda shit. Running through a Fire Emblem game on its highest difficulty and not letting anyone die is the most grueling I'm willing to do.
lol, yea, that has to rank towards the top for me to.

It has been awhile since I have done anything like it myself, but whenever I play one of those games I have beaten into the ground, I always think to do those things again. It would probably take me 6 months to a year to play to the level I am accustomed to.

What do you all think is the craziest thing you have done in a RPG?
Finishing Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and getting the True Demon ending on my first and only playthrough of the game, it took me 5 years but I refused to restart (which is super uncommon for me since I usually restart any RPG if it's been too long since I last played it).

Even though it isn't that crazy, since I'm sure plenty of other people did it, it's still one of my most accomplished moments in gaming, there was a literal victory dance and tears of joy upon reaching those credits, haha (although to be fair by the end I had broken the game so hard nothing could stop me, but seeing those credits is something I thought I was never going to do). I'm still convinced it was doing my first ever cosplay as Hito-Shura which gave me the power to finish the game.

Think my love affair with FFT ended after so many playthroughs. I can't recognize its qualities anymore, it's just such an abusable game.
A true challenge is calling you.

If my roommate ever finishes that thing I know what his craziest moment will be, haha. The fact that he has made it so close to the end of it is already a testament to his insanity, and possibly what he would list as his craziest moment already. That mod is insane.

I was gonna say "Payed full price for FF: Crystal Chronicles", but you said craziest, not stupidest. Hmm...I played over 100 hours of Tecmo RPG Secret of the Stars. Never even beat the damn game. What the hell was I thinking? Spent half the summer between sophomore/junior years in high school playing this crapfest JRPG instead of out having fun and enjoying youth. It was so bad that Tecmo didn't make another RPG for 15 years. What is even crazier is that I still vow that I will not die until I have defeated it!! Seriously, its the most grind-heavy console RPG ever, I believe.

I want this:

Gimme dat Tales of Symphonia CE.

I finally beat Burgh in Black 2.  No problem, I'm just super slow at playing Pokemon.  In comparison, my son beat the game already.  Only five more gym leaders until I can use Shiny Palkia and Shiny Giratina!

Of course, X will arrive before any of that happens though....

Started Ys Origin yesterday. It was a little weird not playing a mute, red-headed ladykiller at first, but the player character I chose, Yunica, is decent enough. The combat and music are so, so good, as usual.

Sadly, this was the last Ys game left in my backlog  :whistle2:(

Probably never actually happening:

Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, and Tales collaboration may not be out of the question
October 17th, 2013 Posted in General Nintendo, News

Dragon Quest producer Yosuke Saito, Final Fantasy producer Shinji Hashimoto, and Tales series producer Hideo Baba got together for a V Jump feature this month. At one point in the conversation, the three seemed to discuss some collaboration ideas.

Here’s the conversation in full, as translated by Siliconera:

Baba (Tales of): “If you can do it, then by all means!”
Saito (Dragon Quest): “Shall we? We can start right away.”

Baba: “How about [Akira] Toriyama’s first Tales of game?”

Hashimoto: “If Toriyama is okay with it, then we’re okay with it. As long as we stay true to the world view, I think [Yuji] Horii would be okay with it, too.”

Hashimoto (Final Fantasy): “How about Kosuke Fujishima (Tales of character designer) draws for a Final Fantasy, and Tetsuya Nomura do Dragon Quest?”

Baba: “I’m pretty sure Fujishima would do it.”

“How about... Tetsuya Nomura do[es] Dragon Quest?”
OH GODDESS NO DON'T EVER LET THIS HAPPEN D: D: D:

(Nomura is fine at what he does, but he must be kept far, far away from Dragon Quest. I know this is all just idle producer chatter, but still  )

Akira Toriyama designing for Tales and Kosuke Fujishima for Final Fantasy would be weird as well, but not as weird...

Final Fantasy Committee formed to oversee franchise’s quality – report
Square Enix has reportedly put together an all-star team to oversee the Final Fantasy series as a whole, protecting the brand from disaster by keeping quality high.

20131018_final_fantasy.jpg

According to Japanese fansite FF-Reunion, as translated by Nova Crystallis and Siliconera, the newly-formed Final Fantasy Committee is tasked with ensuring the quality of releases moving forward.

The committee will be led by Yoshinori Kitase (director of FF6, FF7, FF8 and FF10), Hajime Tabata (director of FF Type-0, Crisis Core: FF and Before Crisis: FF), Motomu Toriyama (director of FF13, FF13-2, Lightning Returns: FF13 and FF10/10-2 HD remaster), and Naoki Yoshida (director and producer of relaunch FF14: A Realm Reborn).

Yoshida’s inclusion is interesting, as it shows Square Enix has a lot of faith in his reboot of Final Fantasy 14; previously, the developer worked on the Dragon Quest series. Another interesting point is that Final Fantasy 15 director Tetsuya Nomura is not on the list, despite supplying some of the franchise’s most loved character designs – but reports suggest he is too busy with other duties, presumably including the Kingdom Hearts series.

The Final Fantasy brand has endured a bit of a battering in recent years – the launch of the original version of Final Fantasy 14 was a disaster; fans have become frustrated waiting for the games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series; and Final Fantasy 13 and its first sequel suffered critical backlash.

Maaaaan...

That gunblade still looks really fucking dumb, y'all.

The denial over XIII's success is becoming a joke. Why do you think Kitase and Toriyama are still on this apparent dream team?
Yeah... I'd say that 83 and 79 on Metacritic constitutes a pretty mild "critical backlash." Some people are just unable to accept that there are fans who don't hate the XIII games.

I don't hate the XIII games.

But I'm starting to not like Lightning a whole lot though.

Cloud had more depth than her and Cloud's depth is equal to Laura Bailey's voice range.

Besides Biggs, Wedge, and Cid I'm drawing a blank. Those are different characters each game, just a name throwback. Are you saying main characters are in other FF's? Are Cloud, Terra, and Auron going to be in FF15?!

It's FF14, lol. The lore is almost non-existent, anyone who's playing it now knows that. Nearly every quest you get in that game is a pop culture reference or pun, and the single-player story was probably written in crayon by somebody's kid over at Square. Cameos and other forms of fanservice are just part of the game's nature at this point.

FYI for those that didn't see in the deals forum, the following console RPG's will be on sale at GS on Black Friday:

Tales of Xillia- $20

KH 1.5 HD- $20

Xenoblade Chronicles- $40

Diablo 3- $40

Skyrim vanilla- $15

Skyrim Legendary- $30

Borderlands 2 GotY- $30

Dragon's Crown- $30

Ni No Kuni- $15

FF 14 A Realm Reborn (PS3)- $20

Also the Elder Scrolls Anthology for PC will be $40 but most likely you will have to order that online as few stores carry it in stock currently. Also both Starcraft's are $20, WoW Panda is $10, and WoW Battle Chest is $5.

Before it tripled in scope, Wasteland 2 was scheduled to release right around now. Some backers are getting beta access now, though. Pictured below: A rad dude.

Cloud and a very Robo-ish robot were in FFT, I guess. And FF9 had some throwaway line joking about Cloud and Squall's names.

About 25 hours into Kingdom Hearts 3D. Finding some of the pieces to make the high  rank dream eaters is getting to be a pain. That and going through my ingredient list and checking each one for potential recipe matches.

I wish all of the stats weren't so buried and hidden too. I keep unlocking things like Attack Boost, Attack Haste, Magic Boost, etc, but can't tell how much of assistance they actually provide. Where's my +1 numbers!

Is he talking about Worker 8?

Cuz I got zero Robo vibes from him, except that maybe he's robot too.

Zero.

Like Laura Bailey's voice range.

Ok, I'll concede that FF11 and FF14 shouldn't have been numbered FF's then. Very minute references in spin-offs (sans Dissedia, which was pretty much every character cross over) are one thing, but a main title? Though FF11 never broke the 4th wall from my memory. Besides Cid there was a Gilgamesh pirate captain guy.

On a side note, who is getting the (I think pre-order) bonus costume for Lightning Returns where she dresses up as a Miquito from FF14?!

The preorder bonus is the Cloud costume. I don't think they've said how the Miqo'te outfit is going to be made available. It sort of makes sense that the PS3 version might look for an FF14:ARR save on your PS3, but that would exclude everyone who plays FF14 on PC, not to mention the lost souls playing LR13 on Xbox 360.
