MyBestBuy Unlocked Membership - Two Day Sale for $60 (save 50%) - Ends 3/11/14

CAGiversary!
Posted this in the Unlocked thread but thought it might deserve its own thread.

Two year membership for $60 instead of the regular $119.99. Don't have to buy anything else to get the deal. Today (Monday) and Tuesday only. In store only.

Just go into your local Best Buy, grab one of the Unlocked cards (they're blue, kind of look like an Xbox Live card), take it to the register and it will ring up for $60. Make sure you buy any new or preowned games you want on the same transaction and you'll get 20% off the new ones and 10% off the preowned immediately. Takes about one day for the membership details to load into the system. Will be able to use your discount online or in-store. Have to be a MyBestBuy Member before signing up for Unlocked. Can do that online or in the store as well. Just need a MyBestBuy member number so you can get your discounts going forward.

And if you haven't preordered Titanfall and are interested, might as well do that today as well. You'll get a $10 MyBestBuy cert for preordering and purchasing the first week. Get that about 15 days after you buy the game. And yes, you'll get 20% off the game as well for being Unlocked.

And yes, you can use your gift cards from the Xbox One trade-in deal being talked about here ($45 for select Xbox One games, ends Tuesday as well) to sign up for Unlocked.

Happy Titanfall everybody.

Thanks OP. I never got my $30 coupon in the fall so this was the next best thing. In true CAG fashion I flipped an Xbox One COD Ghosts to help cover the $60. Now I just need to make sure I use the membership.

Thanks for the info, OP. And also everyone else with tidbits and feedback. Had a $10 RZ coupon so ended up getting it for $50. Think this will really come in handy with first party Nintendo games that never seem to drop.

Interesting. I wonder how that's tracked? I can't imagine i'd buy more than one copy unless i pick one up for a friend or something but you never know.
Well its tracked with the computers they have via the cash registers you use and the RZ# that you give em for the discount....

By the account that your membership is tied to?...

You can just not give them your RZ stuff after that and pay full price.

I can't imagine why you'd ever need more than three copies of a game though, much less three to begin with.
i would often buy a game at release (hopefully with some sort of discount or trade credit), beat it (or play a bit) and trade it in while the TIV was high, then re-buy it later on some sort of discount. I can see repeating this pattern with GCU games, so i'll need to be careful to keep a tally ,eh?

Multiple platforms? You trade stuff and reacquire it? Crazy sales that you can't pass up?

Last year I traded and bought MLB 13 at least four times from BBY as I lost interest in the game and then it became crazy cheap again. Or this year I've bought AC4 on PS4, WiiU when it was like $7, then a CE of it when it was on sale. It's not clear if CEs count the same (they probably do) but it's three across all platforms and they've never clarified if that ever resets or is for the life of the account.

Not to mention that even if you return a game or CE for whatever reason that it still counts against that tally.

Good lord, just get a Gamefly account already.

had one as a gift. for less than the price of the gamefly account, i can buy, play and re-sell games and break even or even make a profit. gamefly was great to get short single player games to blast through as fast as possible, but if you aren't willing to do that, it's just not worth it.

Between 3 people, it seems that would work out pretty well...
You'd be surprised. I bought AC4 3 times, once on the PS4,traded it in after a month, then bought it for the PS3 when I could get it for $6 via GC coupon, then once again on the Wii U to try it out with the game pad. I also bought Ni No Kuni 3 times, once for myself and twice as gifts.

The bb I went to to upgrade back to GCU had idiot employees. At first I looked everywhere and could not find the physical GCU card. Then I asked the games rep. She told me to sign up at the check out. Lady at register then said she had no idea was GCU was (lol) and told me she thought I should go to customer service. At customer service, a geek squad guy (black shirt) said it was a card, and then a customer service rep (blue shirt) said it was a SKU. At least 5 employees got involved in the debate while 2 more searched the floor for said card. Then they told me to sign up online. I said, "you can't." Eventually black shirt was able to scan some barcode and get me signed up 25 minutes later. Unreal. I was going to play dumb and inquire about the $30 coupon to renew my old membership that had long since expired but since they could barely ring me up the correct way I figured I had no chance at scoring that deal.

Then I bought South Park SoT for $48 woot!

Has nothing to do with patience. Its their time and money. You really have no right to tell them what to do lol. If it works for them who cares. If waiting works for you, cool.

For what its worth, I just received my e-mail with the coupons, so it's about 18 hours turnaround time, give or take.

Looks like they're good until 4/30. Now I need to decide if I want to stop off and do the B2G1 pre-owned games today or hold onto it for a bit.

luckily I saw this thread yesterday. stopped by after work, around 5. logged into my account when I got home within the hour and it already reflected the 2 year gcu membership. about an hour ago I received my welcome package email. I was unaware there was a third coupon for 10% off a digital gaming purchase.

I look forward to using the discount mostly towards 1st party nintendo titles, but the option to get discounts on top of sales made this a instant purchase for me at this price point. I would like to thank everyone who answered the questions in this thread, it was beyond helpful.

Just got them as well. Very disappointing they're only 4/30 when that's when the ones I got from the end of December expired too.

Just got my welcome package.  For me, took approximately 48 hours between store sign up and welcome email.  Expires 4/30, like everyone else.

ugh would have definitely bit at $60 had I seen this prior to today, hopefully they'll do it again soon. Probably a shot in the dark but I wonder if I asked them tonight if they would still honor the sale if they would actually do it?

That's why you have to check this site regularly. And by regularly, I mean every 2.3 seconds.

Had I not been stupid for deciding to go feed my body some nutrients, I would've bought an XB1 + Titanfall for $400. :(

Huh, my Elite Plus 25% bonus and Elite Plus 25% bonus for using my credit card isn't showing up on the purchase I made yesterday...guess it's time to send an e-mail off.

Ah, it seems that the bonus points won't show up until the points are actually posted to my account.

I didn't read all the pages, but I thought I'd update.

1.  It did stack on my current membership.  I'm good till 2017.

2.  I received another set of coupons today in the mail.

Carry on.

My BB has absolutely nothing used but old Assassins Creed games so I was wondering...

Has anyone ordered 3 games from the website, shipped to store, and orchestrated a return/rebuy with the b2g1 coupon?  I'm shocked at the variety of used 3ds games online while there are 0 available at my BB.

Should be able to have them cancel the order when you go in and then just pay for them with the coupon.

What is it with all the trolls gleefully predicting BB's demise? What's wrong with you people that you'd cheer for so many people losing their jobs? Jesus.
