So I had a new one last night, my Xbox One decided it wasn't going to take discs anymore. At first I thought I had a disc in the drive already, I checked and nothing was there. I was wanting to do a factory reset anyways (for a few various reasons) so I did that and now it seems to be ok. Turns out after some looking Online if this happens again it can usually be solved like everything else with this system, by doing a hard reset. If I have this drive die on me and I have to get a second replacement system since launch I am going to be a bit miffed. My luck so far with the One has been pretty damn shitty, it's not giving me a lot of hope that I'm going to have a working console 10 years from now (I had similar bad luck with 360's too but I think most people did as well). How long is the standard manufacturer warranty from Microsoft? I didn't buy an extended warranty but they have to give you a year on them don't they?

Yeah standard 1 year warranty. I'm not sure if you bought it recently but given the last console generation I've taken to covering everything with Squaretrade. You have 30 days past purchase to get one, and for $70 I got 3 Years with accidental.

Mine no longer reads discs. Read previous posts about this. The XBOX Support has been an absolute joke. Follow my timeline thus far.
5/20/2014 - Called to report initial issue. The system to handle returns/support was down. XBOX would call back WITHIN 3 days.
5/23/2014 - No call back after a full 72 hours. I call to process return. Was a bit of a hassle still. Tried to charge me at first, then said since I was part of the BETA (early Flight) program they would do the Advanced Exchange for free. Total BS, but whatever.
5/27/2014 - I go to check repair status. Website to check status is down. I chat, she cannot check it either. They call back instantly saying it "SHOULD" process this week. If nothing is heard, call back FRIDAY.
The whole process has been frustrating. I've requested a manager and never got anyone. Needless to say, It will probably be a good 3 weeks before I see a console with the ADVANCED replacement program. All the time there is a $530 hold on my Credit Card.
At least I have a PS4 so I can play discs. I pre-ordered Wolfenstein on XBOX though, never got to play it. I was hoping to take advantage of Best Buy pre-order deal and trade back in....oh well.
At least I got Watch_Dogs on PS4. So annoying though.

Where does XBOX ONE even store saved games? The interface still sucks. I was trying to find all my saved data so I could backup (ensure it was in the magical cloud), but I cannot seem to locate the saves. PS4 is much easier to find things.

My PS3 never broke under warranty. I had my release console for like 5-6 years before I got the YLOD. I contact the CS once for Sony about a Hard Drive caddy since I stripped a screw and they send me the caddy like overnight. It was flawless.

You caught me at the annoyed process with the XBOX ONE. Sorry if my views are slanted. I've had GREAT Customer Service from multiple companies in the past, but Microsoft dropped the ball on this one. Sorry if I'm bitching about it. I compare my PS4 to the XBOX ONE and I prefer the PS4 interface at this point. I honestly I think my XBOX has disc issues since Day 1, so I got a lemon, and that has slanted my view.
My question still applies, where does XBOX ONE store saved games? I looked briefly but it was not intuitive.
Go to My Games & Apps. If you press the Menu (start) button on a game, it'll show options. You can pin it to the dashboard, view the store page for that game, or manage and uninstall. Press manage to see saved data, game installation, and addons for that game. The quicker way is to press the View (back) button over a game and it'll go straight to the manage screen.

In doubledown's defense, I've never had a good experience from Microsoft support. Except for through Twitter. But that was only after escalating multiple times and filing a Better Business Bureau complaint. Even then, all they did was throw extra compensation at me and say "Call back tomorrow if not fixed."
Thankfully I've never had a console break yet. That would be a doomsday scenario.

Yeah, I had a terrible experience with MS customer service when my Live account got hacked and migrated to Russia. Took over 3 months to resolve etc. A lot of it was just a fluke thing, but still sucked. I have a couple blog posts here on CAG about it.
That said, most big corporations have terrible customer service so it didn't taint my view of Xbox or anything really. Customer service is just dead sadly.

Anyone in preview program and get everything deleted from hard drive after June update?
false alam they all showed up again when i started to install watch dogs that was strange. i was on vacation until today so xbox was not on for a week and came home thing would not even boot after first couple try' sseems like the update messed system up but it's fine now.

When I went to Best Buy today to pick up Watch Dogs, I noticed they had this on sale:
Seagate - Backup Plus 3 TB 3.5" External Hard Drive - Retail
I couldn't resist. 3 TB of external storage. Setup was simple, and I have noticed better load times. I can't quantify them, as I'm lazy and not willing to go back and forth moving things when there's Watch Dogs to be played . . . but this seems to be a decent option at a decent price for those interested.

There's no campaign in the game, just multiplayer modes and a horde-style mode for co-op.

pvz is so far sleeper game of this year. No one was talking about it before launch even nothing in media and it's a amazing game. my opinion it's the most balanced shooting game in long time and most fun i had in awhile in shooting game.
It's a solid drive. You can, on rare occasion, find a similar one available at Newegg for $99, but $109 is still a good deal.
Which was answered in the PvZ GW thread but the Xbox One version gives you split screen co-op while it's not there if 360 version. The Garden Ops is straight up ME3 multiplayer template.
Nice find on the external! I'm good for now but a decent price now means I'll prob get a good price later on as the price goes down over time.
Oh by the way I noticed a new % amount in your My Clips now, good to know as I'm at 90% used apparently lol.

Ran into an issue yesterday and I was curious if anybody else has seen this. I started downloading Watch Dogs before work yesterday. By the time I left it was at 7%. My Xbox is set to go to standby so I shut it off. Come home and Watch Dogs should be done downloading. I go to the pin to launch it and it brings me to the game store with an install button where the buy button was. Odd. I go to My Games and Apps and don't see it queued there. I go back to the game store and tap install. It resumes the download at 7%. Now frustrated I wait a bit until I have enough downloaded to play the game. Get through the tutorial and have to wait for more to download. At around 10:30 it let's me continue playing. Then I go shut down for the night. Turn it on this morning to see that it had stopped the download at 96% again overnight and again I manually had to resume it. I haven't had problems with DLC downloading in the past so I'm not sure what is going on.

check your auto download settings might have changed for some reason. if not just leave your system on over night and put on power off after one hour of inactivity. my x1 is on my days off all day for tv feature and it runs cold and built to be long period of times.

They added it one patch I believe and was taken out shortly after. I think its meant to be casual and not a decent team rolling through all the other 10 year olds.
Me and my 10 year old daughter play it together and we both have fun. Sadly I was mad that you couldn't split screen online modes, but horde mode is fun enough.

No idea what happened. I did manage to find somebody with the exact same problem while downloading watchdogs on the Xbox support forum so I will see if that gets any replies.

I love the Xbox One and I think it's been pretty unfairly bashed among people and outright by the media, but why should that article put anything to rest?

Sony did it last generation from the PS2 to the PS3. Now look at the PS4, lots of changes especially PSN as a subscription model. Nintendo did it with the Wii to Wii U, these companies are too confident in themselves and boom mistake.

Truth. It's hard to believe what any company says. But in reality dropping the Kinect is the best thing MS can do to have *ANY* shot at winning this console war. Chances are they won't win anything outside of the US, but in the US they still have a very good shot and getting back the lead considering they are only down 300kish consoles. MS knows they can't lose the US market, and they know that they have to be aggressive as possible to keep in pace with Sony. The good news for MS is Sony can't afford to drop their console because the company is already bleeding badly. If anything both companies will be at $399 for awhile outside of holiday sales, and when Sony is finally able to drop the price MS will match it. win-win for MS by dropping the Kinect.
