This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Damn...I can't even begin to argue with that. Being a daylight hero isn't easy. Only Me and Freakazoid can pull it off.
Maybe a different costume would be a good start...

So I've decided to pull the trigger on a Xbox One today, after I finally gave up on the idea of buying a PS4 as I figured I wouldn't enjoy it at all without Gears, Halo, Horizon and (probably) Sunset Overdrive, and now I find myself trying to find the best game to order with a Titanfall pack as I'm about to end my finals and am getting ready for my Summer vacations.

Which Xbox One game would fit the Titanfall pack in order to provide a more diversified and lasting experience?

I believe that since my last post on CAG, I finished Mirror's Edge, Spec Ops, Fallout 3 GOTYE, Vanquish and am now currently on The Witcher's chapter 2. While Fallout was quite a peculiar but far too long and brown experience and Spec Ops was a great game but a tremendous moral beating, I must say that Mirror's Edge and Vanquish were truly awesome . Surely two of the most underrated and underplayed games of this generation.

As for The Witcher 2, now that I've finally figured how to fight on Normal difficulty, I must say that it lives up to the hype and I'll probably end up paying full price for Witcher 3.

Sarcasm directed right at me with a smartass attitude

Everything directed at me when I wasn't even the only one or the first person to result to insults

But ok

I respect everyone's opinion, doesn't mean I can't disagree.

It's quite funny that if you had paid attention you would have seen that I actually voiced my opinion first and it wasn't directed towards any specific person and everyone lashed out towards me for that

But keep going with whatever you doing, because it's completely different than anything I've done so far :bouncy:
Nah. I'm pointing out that you've been mostly hurling out insults at everybody with your posts, but now you take offense at somebody calling you out for that in a sarcastic tone. You didn't throw out your insults at one person, but at everybody, so it shouldn't be a surprise that everybody responded to them.

You first post on the subject just mocked those with negative criticisms and a bit earlier, you told everybody to either buy the game they wanted or shut the hell up about GWG. That's not the sort of thing you'd say if you really did respect everyone's opinions.

I haven't take offense of anything. I gave my opinion on other people's opinions and then people gave their opinion in response.

If you've been reading, you might have noticed where I said this is going over people's heads? That is clearly the case

I'm just blunt and don't try to sugar coat stuff. And don't try to say that others don't share my opinion when they clearly do.

This is getting boring now though.

So everyone can hate me or whatever.

If my GwG choices were picked everyone would lose their minds

If my GwG choices were picked everyone would lose their minds
Thank you for being so protective of us all. You do care about your fellow cags if you don't want them to loose their minds.

Actually, you know what!? I wanna loose my mind, its been bugging me lately so much.

Let it rip.

Have y'all read the note the devs left for Contrast in the marketplace? I bought the game just because of that even though I have it on PSN. I thought it was pretty cool.

How about a random code to bring everyone back to happy: ? = DB?

23X9C-2KXWP-67YPK-FQYR3-YD9D?
I must be really tired, because I have no idea what "DB?" means...

Edit: NM...I AM tired. Too bad a lurker already grabbed it.

Holy crap. Can everyone just ignore Glass Ghost? Select the option and the world will be a better place without him. The last five pages or so have involved his "opinion" and everyone getting upset because he's a d..........nevermind.

On topic - glad to be getting Gotham City Imposters as I didn't want to spend $3.74 the last time it was on sale so free is just the right price!!! BattleBlock is great for those who don't have it. Superb game. And with that, I leave this thread on a POSITIVE note

We need moar of this.

Microsoft had so many people fooled, using the same peer to peer networking and publisher dedicated servers found free on PC and the PS3. But the placebo effect made people think it was far superior, there are Xbots out there that still think all multiplayer on the 360 is on dedicated servers provided by Microsoft.. lol The place where Microsoft excels is with downloads, speeds seem to be superior when downloading files from them. Hardly worth the $10 more a year they charge, and when you factor in the superiority of the games offered by Sony, it makes Gold's higher price look like a joke. If people couldn't find gold on sale all the time I'm sure the uproar would be far greater.
Nobody's denying the P2P element, or that PC has a better set-up, but the PSN was a mess for years. XBL had better infrastructure when it came to the shop and other services by a mile (including downloads, but also including communication between Xbox friends, party chat, etc). Don't forget about the extended PSN outage which they lied about for a substantial period of time.

Btw, obviously Microsoft did something right because they avoided just about all of the Gamespy-related shutdowns unlike Sony. In addition, there are several games that still have MP on 360 that don't have it on PS3 anymore (Ghostbusters is one, iirc). Not to mention that several first-party Sony titles have had online MP axed because of the limited amount of servers they had (GT5 for example). Where do you think M$ got all the money for enough servers to avoid that happening to even their oldest titles on 360? :p

Now that's not to say that Gold is worth $50 or $60 a year, but there's definitely value there, and you can tell that M$ took some of the money per sub and invested it into their set-up. Sony shot themselves in the foot because with free online, they didn't have the resources to compete in that department, especially because they're not a big PC company like M$.

lucky, I just check mine but I didn't get anything probably because all I did was ask for a free code then.
Yeah, I wrote them a nice, long message of thanks just because I appreciated what they were doing and wished more devs would do that when their games are going to be delisted. Looks like they appreciated my words. :)

Suuuuuuuuper disappointed that this is what Microsoft is doing with Gold on the One. I mean, $50 for Ryse as a "Deal" with Gold was a giant slap in the face. Now, they only give us one game in July, and it's a dirt-cheap side-scrolling platformer that you could get for nothing in a Humble Bundle (and I did, and never touched it)? I hate being a complainer, but the things they give away suck as it is, so then making Max a repeat the second month in...what a depressing move.

Update:

Apparently a Banjo bundle may be on the way.

@lifelower found this pic somewhere:

cCZ4Dnv.jpg
This now has a page on Xbox.com. It's not available for purchase and there's no price yet, but it's dated 6/27, so it could be up sometime today (Friday). Xbox.com

lifelower ‏@lifelower

Banjo Games Bundle #XBLA store page is up. It'll probably be out very soon. http://marketplace.xbox.com/Product/Banjo-Games-Bundle/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8025841145d
Also worth noting that it was about this time last year that MS released all those weird XBLA bundles at discounted prices and then pulled them all down from the store just a few days later. Might be a good idea to grab this when it goes up in case they pull the same thing with this one, too.

This is absolutely mystifying. All the whining and sense of entitlement going on in this thread is abhorrent. Now I'm hoping MS takes free games away completely, just to spite all of you.

Yup! Bringing it back up and missing the whole point of the discussion will totally move this thread along!

Hopefully if it does show up for purchase it will be at a good enough price that it will be worth taking a chance on it just being a limited thing.

Yes. But the wire is good. It also requires a LOT of attention. There are little details that you might miss if you look away a few minutes that never get brought up again. Season 4 of the wire was good. It also was so friggin depressing.

Nothing has topped breaking bad for me, but the wire is up there with it. Just be warned like I said it requires full attention. There also might be 3-4 episodes where nothing happens but it's building up to a good payoff. It's also one of the few shows where the good guys and bad guys are just portrayed as human brings instead of heroes and villains.

I would guess it will either be $15 or $20. Probably $15. But a "limited time offer" of $10 like they did for the Twisted Pixel bundle last year wouldn't surprise me.

Whatever price it is, it's nice to see these games getting some attention again. A lot of people have been wanting sales or price drops on them for a long time. This will hopefully make those people happy.

$10 would be instabuy but $15 would be pretty hard to say no to as well.

I must say that Mirror's Edge and Vanquish were truly awesome . Surely two of the most underrated and underplayed games of this generation.
I thought mirrors edge was a well respected game? Myself and a lot of gamers are expecting a sequel/prequel. Also, PvZ garden warfare has more replayability than Titanfall IMO, so I'd say check that out.

Also, if this banjo kazooie bundle is true I might finally re-purchase the two platformers I enjoyed on the 64

i found Season Two of the Wire to be eh.  I know why it's there, but, if someone else has not watched the rest of The Wire, then, I would recommend 1, 3-5 and read about Season Two on Wikipedia or ask me and I can sum it up in a few sentences.

I'm still mad at Mirrors Edge for not giving me the achievement for not using a gun. Some parts were annoying without one. I'd definitely give it another Chance if the price was right. Although I remember the parkour being a little clunky. Could just be bad memory. Could be amazing Titanfall parkour suffocating any memory of good ME parkour.

Update:

This now has a page on Xbox.com. It's not available for purchase and there's no price yet, but it's dated 6/27, so it could be up sometime today (Friday). Xbox.com

Also worth noting that it was about this time last year that MS released all those weird XBLA bundles at discounted prices and then pulled them all down from the store just a few days later. Might be a good idea to grab this when it goes up in case they pull the same thing with this one, too.
And to think I was about to purchase banjo kazooie, might as well wait now and get this if the price is right. Even though Banjo Tooie from what I remember wasn't as good

I Found it fine, eventhough the characters from the dock aren't really brought up again (with the exclusion of quick cameos) I found Frank Sobotka to be one of the better characters. That and it did make season three all the more satisfying.

I guess my biggest issue with Season Two was Ziggy.  I found his character to be *too* unbelievable and for the rest of the show to be about realistic characters, it caused me to be disconnected with Season 2.

Crap... Gotham Imposters & Battleblock are the free games for July? Yech...They're really scraping the barrel already...will play neither of those, just like this past months free games.

Holy shit. This made my day. Perfect timing too, seeing as I stocked up on Xbox credit the other day. :)

Or we can talk about The Wire because I finally finished it and it was totes awesome.
I hate you, you're making me wanna watch it again and I saw it less than a year ago!

Never seen it. Am I in trouble?
Yes. As soon as you watch it, you'll wonder why the fuck you didn't watch it sooner.

It's a drop in quality from Season 1, I agree. It's still alright though, but yeah, you can tell the guys behind the show realized it was probably their weakest season, as they didn't really go back much to it.

It was alright. Good, but not as good as the other seasons.

Hated Ziggy. Hate hate hate.

Battleblock isn't scraping the bottom of the barrel (though it was recently on sale for $2.60 w/Castle Crashers on Steam), but Gotham City Impostors (a game which is F2P on PC) is.

I'm so pumped about Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition being free next month. I bought the Vita/PS3 version when it was on sale a while ago. Finished it quickly, and then I bought it again when the Humble Bundle offered the Gold Edition. Finished all of that DLC on my PC. Now I can play through it again with more content? Count me in!
