Only way to farm is through Drops, Strike Rewards, and Public Events. One way you can farm them is make a few characters and have them participate in the Public Events, maxing out the total amount you can get and then place them in the Vault.

You can only get 1 per day through the public event only if its the 1st 3 star you get on the day right?

you sure? I've done tons of them while at the treasure cave and never seem to notice getting anything the second time. Maybe I just never noticed.

 
Ever since i got this exotic bounty for an exotic fusion rifle, i can never seem to get any fusion rifles i need to dismantle. I need to dismantle 10 and i only have 3 so far. I dont even know if i care anymore since i got this exotic sniper that shows mini map and camouflages you when you aim down the sites. Havent upgraded that to get any of those perks but i plan to keep using it. One of the bounties was to get 15 headshots in pvp and i did it in like 3 matches, which is surprising because i usually suck with sniping.

I have enough crucible points to buy some gear like the boots, but i need to get 810 more exp to get to level 2 which is required. Im going to try to get the bounties for crucible tomorrow morning done so i can get to level 2 and buy these boots before we try the boss in the raid. I just wish i had a better gun for my primary. The one i use is good but its only a rare gun.

Did some farming on earth and within maybe 30 minutes i already had 3 legendary, and 4 blue engrams. LOL. But the only good thing i got was a warlock bond.

can anyone who has a gf or know a girl playing destiny that used a tut or can you recommend a concise, truncated simple break down of understanding thibgs i memtioned, really the crucible and vangard marks, how level relates to it ( rep and xp level of character?) shes lost and i wish i could help so we both get it

please post any relevent links, tuts, faqs, walk thru - anything helpful thx guys
 
So I am pretty sure I missed it because it is likely with Xur, but how are you guys getting exotic bounties? Or do those just randomly come available later from the bounty guy or what?

Just googled it and it appears to be random? Which is odd I am almost level 27 and just a few points away from being Rank 3 in FWC and have been doing bounties every day since launch.. Well that must mean I am just in for one soon hopefully then! hahah

Besides the faction bonds, what purpose do these do besides look like a glorified arm band? If there is no purpose why even have levels on them "legendary" status?

Tip: If you are actually looking for legendary items, don't turn in your purple engrams until your 26, everyone of them I've gotten at 26 had a legendary in it. Before, almost always rare/coins/ascendants or garbage.

Question: Are legendary scout rifles and good in PVP?

Proxima Centauri II, just got it last night, 13 mag, good for farming treasure cave for sure but really wanted a rare Galahad-E AR for PVP

I have noticed a higher rate of Legendaries once I hit 26 but not guaranteed from the engrams still.

Also, other than the factions all class armors are just for show. As you can see from just that one though, most of the legendary ones have some realy cool effects with them to really make them pop.

For me, I noticed an increase in legendaries from legendary engrams at around cryptarch rank 14. It doesn't mean anything and it's most likely RNG but I want to believe that raising your cryptarch rank improves your chance of decrypting an actual legendary from a legendary engram. Not just legendary gear but motes of light and strange coins as well. I spent all of my 23 motes and 13 strange coins on friday morning, and already got those amounts as of last night. Again, probably just good RNG for me over the weekend.

 
Even when you're lvl 26, it is not guranteed you'll get a Legendary from the Engram. Only twice did I get legendary items from Engrams and one of them was useless to me (Warlock Bond)

 
Gonna have 3 toons all at 26 tomorrow. I have mats to go up to 28, but... question is what class I want to play -.- Hunter seems so underhwelming for PvE.

Anyways, my friends and I are looking for 2 more for weekly raids and other random crap (dailys, and whatever comes out tomorrow mostly).

I dont understand how people have such high Cryptarch Ranks... mine is like 6.

I have been playing a ton since launch, collect engrams a bunch, did a good deal of farming, only spend my glimmer on upgrades. I just dont understand how it is possible to get such high ranks!

Do you guys just utilize those consumables like crazy and just flip all that glimmer into engrams from the Cryptarch or what?

 
I'm still  freaking stuck at level 20. Man the grinding is pretty intense on this game, and I've been playing at least 2 hrs since it came out every day. I really don't know if I can maintain that kind of playing lol, but I really want to do Raids and Strikes. 

Also, I tried the 3vs3 last night...never again. If the other team has a Hunter or are all Hunters, they pretty much win if they have their Knife dancing skill. Freaking ridiculous, I had to save my Hulk Smash in order to keep them at bay  :boxing:

I feel like I'm repeating myself here but...the cave man haha. Just all the blues I've gotten from there over time have gotten my Cryptach up to I wanna say either 15 or 16 right now. I may occasionally buy a few greens from him if he's close to leveling but that's it. That's how I've been doing it anyways.

I have done the cave many times now and still dont have that high of a rank.... how much time have you put into farming??

I would take you on the offer, but with a lvl 20 Titan and no luck so far grinding for gear with more light I would only hold the team back :-({|=

On average I'm there for 30-60 minutes each go. I probably go there 2 to 3 times a day. (Although yesterday I was only there twice and wasn't there too long each time.) It's been like this since it's been discovered but I don't remember when the vid was first posted here. I get a TON of blues and usually at least one purple every go. (With the rare exception of a bad luck run where I hardly get anything.)

Oh jeez, that is why hahaha

I dont have enough time to do it that much! I commute 2-3 hours each day, work full time and am getting my masters full time at night haha so my gaming unfortunately does not allow me to farm that long. I have maybe total farmed for two hours or so total now since it was posted. Womp womp womp

 
My Cryptarch is almost level 21 and I've maybe farmed a total of 2 hours. I just get a lot of blue drops doing anything.

Anyways, just to remind everyone that the Queen's Wrath opens up tomorrow. This means new bounties and harder, new (?) missions will become available and she will likely have her own faction with her own gear.

You need armor with the "Light" stat to proceed after level 20. I'm a PvE guy, if you suck at PvP or unlucky at drops like I am, get a regular bond/cape/emblem to get Vanguard Reps. You have to get to level 2 for the good stuff (armor).

*Heard weekly strike gives 10%-20% bonus on all Vangaurd Reps earned for the week so do it 1st thing in the weekly reset, don't actually know since I can't solo it.

*Do Vangaurd strikes to help get started with gear peices with light on it

*Daily strikes

*PvE bounties

*farm treasure cave/chests

*VIP/regular bounties and public events while farming (VIP give 25 reps instead of 10, also get extra mats/rep I think (rumor) on the map when you do 25-50 kills)

*blue/purple levels up your crytarch rank, 3 and every level above gives more blues and purples

(farming at treasure cave is my main source of blues and leveling my cryptarch is main source of purples)

* I think everything above give "Strange Coin" and "Motes of Light", turn those into Xur for exotic gear, they have light

only requires vangaurd rank 2 to get the stuff with light, heard getting to rank 3 give exotic wep

A more consistant way to level crytarch rank and get purples is to farm glimmer and buy stuff from him, there a glimmer farm video on youtube that says to can level every 2 hours just from the glimmer.

Save the purples when you have 14-16 crytarch rank (rumor) seem to give consistant legendaries from them, other wise they give other stuff (blues/coins)

I forgot about the Awoken stuff starting tomorrow! I am stoked! That will be really cool if she does have her own faction then too though since it is for such a short time I wonder how they would handle that? Perhaps it will be a consistent thing. Like maybe once every couple months they give more and more of her stuff to do and just slowly rank up as they are available.

Yeah I unfortunately (or maybe fortunately in this case lol) lost my job a few months back and I'm currently on unemployment. I'm also single with no kids so needless to say I have TOO much time for gaming haha.

Exo or Awoken....? I thought the new Queen events are Awoken-focused. She is a bad ass though <3

When I was talking about the Queen of the Space Elves, I was referring to the Awoken. When I mentioned the Exo, I was merely stating that we should get more focus on the Exos as well.

 
OK, excuse my NOOB-osity, but every time I think I've figured something out more stuff gets chucked into the mix...

So, The Queen's Wrath event isn't going to be a raid like the Vault of Glass right?  But it will have a bunch of bounties/missions to tackle solo or co-op and it's not locked to a minimum Level?

 
Any tips for the Winter's Run strike? I've tried it twice now, but it just seems so difficult. I'm level 17 and my girlfriend is 16, so we shouldn't be having this much trouble. Granted, we've had pretty bad teammates both times, but still.

The boss just has a shit ton of health, can kill you super quickly, and there's constantly tons of other enemies spawning all over.

The only difference in legendary and non-legendary weapons in Crucible are mods. Legendaries have more mods, though, and can have some rare mods, so if you have good mods, yeah. I believe scout rifles got nerfed in PvP in the day 1 patch, but I've seen a few people using them lately.

 
Really weird that Bungie would patch heroic story missions to make them easier even though you specifically chose the "Hard" version.

Heroic Story Missions are pretty easy imo. My friend and I always play the tier that give you 2 Ascendant Materials. And it's just the two of us.

It looks like this is how the Queen's Wrath works:

1) Complete a Queen's Wrath Bounty and Receive a 'Queens Order' under the Mission section of your inventory.

2) Use this Order to take on a level 24 mission with an Epic modifier (Previously only on the Nightfall).

3) Finish mission, get legendary gear.

6 Missions a day, so up to 6 legendary pieces of gear daily it seems.

The missions just say "Level 24 Story Challenge" so you don't know what they are before hand.

The weekly missions are Nexus. Both have Solar Burn, but I don't believe Vex use Solar so it works more in your favor. I feel like the next week one is going to be Arc Burn on Winter's Run for the Archon Priest. Not sure how I'd be able to win that one.
