I feel like a fat lady sat on my neck while I was sleeping last night. I can only look left, and my right arm is nearly useless reaching for anything.

I beat Jak & Daxter last night and got the plat. I miss that kind of game from back when 80% of releases weren't Brown Shooter 2: Browner. The last two generations prior to 360/PS3 were 3D adventure platformer heaven.

Jak's a great game, but it makes me wonder why other games like Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy (seriously underrated gem) and the first couple Tak games didn't get the same amount of praise when they were just as good. I guess because Jak came first. Also, being first party probably had something to do with it.

But the stick is too sensitive towards down. I bet at least 4 times I've ran in blasting shopkeepers (right + square) just to drop my gun for no reason (somehow the controller reads down + square for a split second though it's being tilted 99% right and 1% down) and then got my face blasted off. Has happened at least twice in the black market.

d-pad definitely. The stick is not precise enough.

Going on to Jak2? I started back on it last night, should push through to the plat this weekend.

They didn't go as far due to the publisher and (lack of a) marketing budget would be my guess.

Once again you're right on target. I decided to pass on Shadow Warrior unless it has the $10 in-store gift card like Evil Within did this week.

Just lt it on overnight last night and it popped at 8AM I guess. I'm glad it did, because if I was that close and left it on again for really no reason I would have been annoyed. I turned it on around 6 last night, so about 14 hours.
 
Looks like a price drop on the Castlevania: Lords of Shadows Collection as it's $20 on amazon, gamestop, walmart. Can't decide whether to grab it now or keep it in the back pocket as filler to get to $35 for black Friday lightning deals (that might all sell out early anyway). Since it's already sold out and delisted on the PS3 on walmart and Best Buy I am leaning toward buying it now so that it doesn't go out of stock and out of print. I think I will just go ahead and get it now.

Comes with the base game, all the DLC, and Mirror of Fate HD, a port of the 3DS game. Castlevania: LoS is a disc only game so it will likely never be for sale on the PSN.

If you make at least some effort to get money, and then you beat Yama and take all his gems, you are going get over 500k. Two birds with one stone. But then again that's a distraction. Might make sense to focus just on getting to Yama and not worry about money. How's that for a wishy-washy answer?

This reminds me of an issue with Spelunky: the overall high score and fastest time leader boards don't seem to have anybody's highest score nor fastest times. Not mine, and not others like Jay's. I scored in the 600k range when I beat Yama, but my highest score is showing at 400k something.

The only reliable leaderboard is the Daily Challenge leaderboard.

Not sure if discussed, but apparently sony came out on top again last month in hardware sales.

Estimated guess being thrown around is 550k sold.

Yeah, I saw that. Somebody quoted some analyst a day or so back who predicted the XB1 did better. Stupid analysts.

This is great news. Grabbed South Park last night, so if the $17 trade value holds until I'm done with it, this is what I'll be trading it for.

We know PS4 was the best selling console of the month. So yeah, you can see how close Xboner came to beating PS4. If they had DOUBLED their sales, they might have had a chance.

EDIT: Also interesting that WiiU (probable 3rd biggest slice) is barely outpacing Xbox 360 (probable 4th biggest slice)

I get what you mean but the site is so huge it seems rather pointless to generalize. It's like saying "the internet" is a bad place. Avoid the parts that overwhelm or don't interest you. NPD threads are the worst. Stuff like game OTs or the countless sub communities? Gold.

NPD is pointless for software sales at this point, lots buy digital and those are not included, same as the bundles are not included. No way destiny didnt sell more total (digital and physical) on ps4 than xbone.

 
Oh and played destiny again for a bit on remote play on the ptv.

Still pretty solid, connected a lot quicker this time, and still not bad lag wise.

Only thing is destiny is a little dark on that tv, need to mess with settings on ptv or the tv to make it brighter.

Overall happy with the purchase so far.

Sales number for Destiny look about like this (including special editions, excluding digital):

Destiny standalone: between 2.5 million and 2.7 million. (I used 2.6mil for calculations)

Destiny PS4 bundle: about 300,000

So, including the bundle:

Destiny PS4 - 1.158mil (39.9%)

Destiny X1 - 910K (31.4%)

Destiny 360 - 598K (20.6%)

Destiny PS3 - 234K (8.1%)

 
Destiny also destroyed the competition for top selling games of the month.  

Destiny was at about 2.6 million (excluding bundled copies), the #2, #3, and #4 games (Madden, FIFA, and Smash) were all between 500K and 1 mil each.  So Destiny close to tripled the 2nd best selling game of the month, Madden.

So I guess I wasn't too off base for saying I'd probably be skipping The Evil Within? Like I said word of mouth is a good indication and my backlog moving forward is going to thank me for it. :D/

 
Finally, a few other numbers:

Shadow of Mordor - A little less than 350K (59% PS4, 41% X1)

Hyrule Warriors - About 170K

Forza 2 - About 120K (X1 and 360 combined, GAF considered this pretty poor)

Danganropa 2 - Less than 12K

Oh and the dude that drops these leaks every month says he won't be doing it anymore because he lost "his source".

Really awesome game; it really surprised me how much I enjoyed it. Not sure if it's worth $10 right out of the gate (mainly depends how into leaderboards and score chasing you are), but most definitely worth picking up sometime down the line.
