This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

I had no idea what this was and was going to make a joke about zombies and Huniepop. then I looked at the Steam page and saw it includes zombie attacks and upskirts. So... I'm in, I guess.
Y u no wait 4 lollipop chainsaw Steam edition?

(No, that's not actually a thing, but MysterD wants it to be now.)

Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad was a horrible game. The only good thing about it was idling the costume creator screen when Aya was in her bra and panties.

Although I hear the sequels are more like Dynasty Warriors.
That game actually was a sequel. The original games were on PS2. Believe me The 360 one was a huge improvement.

Zombie + Upskirts is the ultimate combination. It never fails.

Ok, I lied, I wouldn't want to see upskirts of a zombie.
Not even if it's Amber Heard?

Shutter Steam keys are available if you bought the Groupees Build a Greenlight Bundle 20.

The game will be released on April 2nd, no Steam cards.

Gurumin Steam keys are up.

Basically, if you voted for the game and joined the Gurumin Steam group at any time until last week... you would've gotten a free key.
Huh. Thanks! I don't even vaguely remember signing up for this.. but I tried and got a key!

Edit: Weird.. it says it as cards but idlemaster isn't running it.

Edit2: Ok the badge page isn't displaying it - just the store page. Guess they haven't added them yet.

Is it possible for those who can buy the $20 upgrade for Dark Souls 2 to gift it to others? Would be nice to be able to get it for so cheap.

For the morans: lostnumber basically just admitted that his "family's" accounts are all alts.
No it means that I got one and only one copy of the game for myself.

None of my family wanted it just me.

I don't have any goddamned alts.

Hey, I made an alt steam account for my unborn child and started loading it up with games so that when they become of age are born, they can start playing backlogging them. I'm such a good father.

I was hoping Lollipop Chainsaw got to Steam, not too long after it dropped on consoles.

With Killer is Dead here on Steam, I can only hope Lollipop also follows suit.

So Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel just got a price-drop to $40 on the official 2K Store and is also on sale for 50% off ($20) for all platforms (including PC physical AND digital):

http://store.2k.com/store/Tk22k/en_US/pd/productID.304260200

Assuming the official price drop should happen on Steam directly relatively soon.
I guess this means that if BL:TPS is gonna brick-down in price + have sales, maybe I should think about working on some BL2 DLC's soon...

EDIT:

thanks for the heads up, i will wait another yr for the $4.99 digital edition
Hopefully, that'll come w/ BL:TPS Base Game + Season Pass + all of the DLC's...

rockstar games go on sale every other week...you best bet is to wait unless you need it right now

Not steam version. If you're OK with that and don't wanna wait for a good sale, go ahead. I don't know anything about redeeming and downloading from their "social club" so I'll just wait for a proper steam sale.

I'm sure GTA V is going to be a dog shit port anyway.  I think your time would be best spent counting how many times MysterD posts about it or says "if only it was 75% off or better"

Don't think the PS4/X1 versions have hit $30 yet, but they hit $40 within about 2 months of the release. GMG tends to keep pre-order pricing on most new releases for a week or two post-launch via their VIP section, so there's a chance you could pick up the non-steam version at those rates later.

Since the Steam pre-order hasn't seen a discount, i'm not sure what to expect from future sales...they'll come eventually, but without having direct competition from other vendors, the Steam GTA 5 could stay full price for a bit longer than usual.

i just want to play online heist, as stupid as that sound. i remeber buying the console version, and waiting for the heist. but my patience ran out, so i traded it in. since i have a capable pc now, i don't want to give $ony or Micro$oft any more money, by signing up and paying for xbox live or sony PS plus for online gaming

I heard Payday 1 and 2 had heists, crazy I know. I can assure you without a doubt GTA is complete dogshit unless happen to fall into the targeted demographic age bracket of 6 to 14.

Then when you mods come to clean things up, can you not say things like "guys, this is in the deals section, can we keep on topic" and instead say something like "yo peeps, chill out with the whack behavior and crazy burger pics!"
Fair enough. While I couldn't care less about the crazy burger pics (so long as it's on topic and not offensive), you're correct about the whack behavior. Please behave nicely towards each other. However, I'd still prefer that a deals forum thread focused on deals and was not used as the discussion thread.

I didn't realize you were a mod, until the others here pointed it out.

Anyways, I think one of the concerns might be - well, this thread might go down the tubes in amount of posting, if we do post elsewhere about non-deal stuff.

And, well - I doubt the other Steam thread you mentioned is anywhere as popular + gets as much posting as this one frequently does. I think that thread might be buried a bit on these Forums, as well.
I understand that, but so what if that's true? You all are pc gamers and as such, you don't need spoon-feeding; you know how to bookmark a page, use a forum search engine, and how to subscribe to a thread. You can easily move the chatter to the discussion forum, and when there's a deal, post it in here. When you log in, check your subscriptions and if you see that the deals thread has an update, pop in to see if it's any good. If not, just keep up with each other in the Steam Discussion thread.

You know it's been like this, a loose conversation thread with deals, for years literally so I just wonder why now it needs to change to please a couple of people.

I do want to talk about games and deals and I generally don't want to intentionally offend anyone, but my mind tends to wander and my conversations tend to stray a bit sometimes. If it's going to be such a huge deal then I just won't even bother. It's not like there isn't plenty of other places to have conversations on the internet and not like I'm not already Steam friends with most of the regulars on this thread anyhow.

I get the point about there being an off topic forum and a PC forum but for better or worse the bulk of the conversation among PC gamers on CAG has always been in this thread, or the previous incarnations of it, for years. It is what it is and it's hard to get people change habits and move somewhere else. Not exactly great having a conversation by yourself either.

I guess whoever complained can feel smug about getting this thread strictly moderated to deals and basically turned into a dull Reddit like format. You'll also have to do a lot of moderating and deleting if being that hardcore strict about non-deal posts is really what you intend to do since I don't think others will leave or change so easily or take so kindly to your intervention.
Who ever complained, it was about malicious posts, not about being off topic. I came in to check the "malicious" posts, and when I did, *I* saw that there was as much off-topic chatter as on-topic. So don't be angry at the tattler for anything other than being sensitive to whatever was reported in the first place. If anyone is upset at my requesting that you all keep a deals forum thread about deals, be angry at me, and me alone.

As Hal pointed out, Cheapy appreciates the site traffic and referral and ad clicks. So don't worry about being "strictly moderated." This thread isn't on any kind of watch list. I'm simply making a request of you all, the same as I'd do if my attention was brought to another thread and i noticed similar off-topic behavior in a Deals Forum thread.

And with that, I'll leave you all yourselves.

A1000 for life, yo.

Ugh this again....hi mod...bye mod

cya when another console peasant or SJW gets their underoos stuck

I have an idea though....lets all report the console threads so that they get the "off topic" spanking too....because it happens there they just don't have people hitting the report post button

how about you just ban the person reporting posts for being malicious that aren't instead of coming after the rest of us?

Had to look after reading the other post, so hit up the Xbox whatever it's called thread and yeah, didn't see that different from the Steam thread, maybe slightly more deal talk but 1/3rd of that was speculation, 1/3rd was retail (PC retail is mostly dead), 1/3rd (at best) was deals.

Just checked out the PSN one, when I could find it, seems again bit more deal but not much. A lot of the 6 or so page sample I looked at was upcoming releases and swagbucks talk.

Point making aside, can it be said that the mega thread was a wonderful idea. Trying to find an Xbox/PS thread felt like there was about 50 different threads related to deals for either platform (Target, other sites, K-Mart, etc. etc.). If I need to find a PC deal? Just come here and problem solved (minus some bundle talk). Thank you Neuro5I5, don't realize how pain in the ass the old way was (and I only experienced it like a few months at most? The hell the long time folk not get annoyed? =p)

yeah go make a Xbox Deals thread or a PS4 deals thread and see how that goes...this being the PC Deals thread it is in no way a problem.

maybe we just need to make a thread for every single PC deal that comes along? I'm sure that would be easier to moderate.

If you know we're PC gamers and know we know how to do this - why are you explaining this?

Anyways, I already bookmarked + subscribed to that other Steam Non-Deal thread, when you suggested us to do so. Guess what? I've even made a few posts in there. Not much replies of notifications. That Steam Non-Deal thread's pretty much dead. Nobody from here's really posting there. It ain't getting much action, while this Steam+ Deals Mega Thread here actually is.

I've done a few posts there - nobody else from here has. So, I don't think it's really going to be that easy, TBH. Easier said than done.

As an Xbox thread vet, when I was there, there was a lot more on-topic discussion (even speculation, which yes, is considered on-topic). The closest "off-topic" conversation is about games not on sale. That's it. This thread and that thread are like apples and oranges, imo.

Not to knock the off-topic, which I do enjoy. But I disagree with the notion that the threads are similar in that regard.

PSN thread, before the bans had a lot of off-topic chatter though, from what I remember.

you have 94 xbox threads about deals...add them all together and what do you get?

use your head booby

Yeah, but it was like this even before the deal threads were consolidated and you know it. I've been around long enough to know that, at least.

This was just condensing an already small amount of threads into an even smaller amount (we still have other PC threads, just very, very few).

The amount of amazing non-bundle deals (outside of Nuuvem) seems to have plummeted though (which has made this consolidation a tad easier).

Semantics.

Let's just keep on keepin' on in a civil-ish manner and there shouldn't be any problems. The more everyone make this topic a thing, the more of a thing it becomes.
