I know some of HBO's shows, but what does Showtime have that's worth seeing? Also wondering when PS4 and FireTV will be getting HBO Now.
I rather enjoyed the first season of Penny Dreadful. Looking forward to seeing the second that's airing right now, but would probably just rather buy the Blu ray at a cheap price down the line rather than spend $11 to stream it for a month.

Homeland is also on Showtime. I saw the first two seasons and liked it okay. Not worth all the hype that surrounded it when it first came out. Word of mouth for the seasons that followed is that it has gotten worse.

Long story short, Showtime has nothing on HBO.

I disagree, Homeland is great.  Also Californication, The Borgias, Dexter, The Tudors, Weeds... Showtime has had good shows.  Showtime Anytime streaming sucks compared to HBOGo, though.  Not even remotely comparable.

And Showtime had the Garry Shandling Show back in the day, that was sweet.

I want to play the game with people, not boost it. If people are going to play for fun then I have some friends to play it with. But if it's going to be a boost fest here I'll probably pass.
As long as you get it when it comes out you should be fine. The game will probably cost too much for someone to just buy it for the trophies. I can only assume tyler will get a free code for it and cleaner will probably buy it.

HBO has GoT and True Detective and the best drama in the history of television, The Wire.

I like Penny Dreadful too, but it took a long time for me to get into it.  I would not be surprised if a lot of people bailed on it early since it really was not that great until the last couple of episodes.  At least I had very little idea about where they were going until then.

I actually think that Homeland has gotten better in a way.  Once all love story stuff ended it got better to me.

As far as HBO being better, if you are talking back catalog, sure.  Current stuff, idk.  Outside of Game of Thrones there isn't a lot of proven shows on it still.  I hope True Detective will be good again.  Jury is out on The Leftovers.  John Oliver is awesome, but I don't really put it in the same category of shows.

Silicon Valley is the best show on TV right now.

Have you not seen the preview for the new season of true detective? I like all the actors in the new season and it should be really freaking good again.

Well, I just had one stressful and hilarious moment rolled all into one and you guys get to hear about it!

Several months ago our dishwasher went out and we've been going without one ever since.  We finally bought one over the weekend and it's being delivered tomorrow.  They're going to take our old one away so I decided to go ahead and get that disconnected.

First thing I do is turn the thing on to make sure it hasn't completely died yet.  Didn't want to flip the wrong breaker and then test it only to find out that it didn't come on because it had taken it's last shit and then shock the fuck out of me with the live wire.  So I turn the bastard on it comes to life.  It was on for 1-2 seconds before I shut it back off.  I then proceed to disconnect the water line and the power line, then pull the dishwasher out about a few feet so I can get to the return hose a little easier.  I expected a little bit of water so I grabbed the two hand towels I had in the kitchen and laid them down, but the only thing the dishwasher had been used for in the last few months was a place to drip dry the dishes when we washed them by hand so I wasn't expecting much.  Well fuck me.

Apparently my turning the damn thing on for that 2 seconds was enough to fill it to capacity because when I unhooked that hose water just started pouring out.  Those hand towels didn't stand a chance.

Immediately my socks were soaked as the puddle spread fast across the floor.  I ran to the bathroom and grabbed a couple of towels and ran back but not before I threw off my socks and my jeans.  So I'm running into the the kitchen and throwing these towels on the floor when all of a sudden the doorbell rings and there's a loud knock at the front door.  Now already I know that it's a solicitor because 1) our neighborhood is crawling with them and 2) everyone that visits knows to use the back door.

I fucking hate solicitors.  Can't fucking stand them.  Biggest reason is probably because I work 3rd shift and they are always waking me up.  They can all take a long suck on my ass.  So I'm already annoyed at the mess I've got on my hands and trying to keep it from spreading and then I feel my temperature rise when that knock hits the door.  He knocks and rings the doorbell again before moving on.... or so he probably wishes.

Next thing I know there's a knock at my backdoor.  One thing I always meant to do but never did was buy some curtains or blinds for the window on my backdoor.  I thought it would be nice but I wasn't really worried about anyone peeking in because it's my backdoor, you know?  I instinctively look at my backdoor when I hear the knock and this motherfucker is peering in my backdoor window and here I am with this dishwasher tipped over, water going everywhere, two sopping wet towels in my hands and no pants on.  Our eyes meet for a second and I yell "HEY, fuck OFF".  He jumps back and disappears.

I don't know if he was trying to get me to change internet providers, sell girl scout cookies, or tell me about the glory of salvation but either fucking way if he didn't get moving fast he was going to get his ass beat.

My luck, he was probably casing the joint and will steal my new dishwasher next week.

Oh, and fuck all of you who are thinking of telling me that I should've tested it with the dry cycle.  fuck you all right in the ear.

I think the fact that some of us played the heck out of the beta and it had no trophies goes to show that we probably enjoyed the game. I know I'll play it for fun and if I can get some trophies along the way then great. That's not my focus.

Top, I wouldnt have said anything about a dry cycle. What I am going to say is why the fuck did you bother?!?  When you get an appliance delivered and they are taking away the old one, make them do all the work.

Masters of Sex is really great too.

I'm installing it myself. The old one has to already be disconnected for them to haul it away, they won't do it themselves.

I had Best Buy do a dishwasher for me too.  I guess I paid for the install.  Well worth the money for me though.  I had a hard enough time just replacing my garbage disposal.  A major appliance?  Get the fuck out of here.

Did you really just claim that a show will be good because of a preview? Really?!?!

I will say that it should be good, but how the hell are we supposed to know. The original season was a long drawn out process that spawned a great show by what I remember being one writer and one director. This season is a rush job because of the popularity of season 1 and last I heard was a collaborative effort from a group of writers with multiple directors. I plan to watch and I hope it is as good as last season, but there is no way to know that from a preview after a large shift in how the show was handled creatively.

I am also one of the few that is probably more interested in Tim Riggins (Kitsch) being in it than I am Vaughn and Farrell.

True Detective is really overrated and I imagine S2 is going to be a creative disaster, just like every follow-up season of American Horror Story. The Wire is great, though a lot of HBO's legacy programs (like that one) are available more cheaply via Amazon Prime.

I used to have Showtime and Starz since it was the cheapest of the premium cables, but just couldn't justify the cost anymore.

Of the current showtime shows, I enjoyed Masters of Sex (though I didn't like the second season as much), Homeland, Shameless, and Penny Dreadful. The few of the comedies of theirs I've tried I haven't been that impressed with them.

They also have several enjoyable legacy shows like Dexter, Weeds, Dead Like Me, and some historical dramas.

Guys, it's just a dishwasher... connect a few lines and slide it in.  Done.

Saving myself a hundred bucks by doing it myself like a real man.... standing in a puddle of water with no pants on.

I like to do a lot of things around the house myself, but if it involves anything to do with plumbing I am paying someone else to do it unless my dad happens to be coming for a visit so I can have him make sure I don't fuck things up.

Did you not see the should in my sentence as well?

I am also really interested in riggins being it, but as equally interested as vaughn and farrell, fan of all 3.

Also its all written by same writer as last season, director of the first season is producing this one. There are multiple directors though but any person who watches tv knows its the showrunner (who in this case is the writer of all the episodes) that really runs things.

Since everyone's talking about their favorite premium TV channel shows of awesomeness, I feel required to bring up Party Down because that shit was titsapoppin.

#RIP

As you were.

Fared better? After what, six patches, it still has issues on PS3. That's not slightly better.
I know we've had this discussion before Stotch, and both Fallout games and Skyrim do run like shit on PS3...but I still love these games. I definitely was pissed when Skyrim ran so bad and they wouldn't release the dlc, but then I come back and play it anyway. I recently played Fallout 3 dlc's and am now finishing up Skyrim dlc's. Fallout 4 will probably be the reason I buy a PS4.

Dishwashers and HBO...well at least it keeps everyone away from my pitiful TT ranking. I am above Chewy though. I need to game more. How do I request a paid Gamecation?

I only get nervous when I'm messing with electricity because I'm really just learning everything as I go. But I've repaired our washing machine a few times, repaired our dishwasher before it finally died for good, installed a storm door, installed a garbage disposal, replaced light fixtures in the bathroom.... if I can't hook up a dishwasher than something's wrong.

Never watched it, which is just as odd as me not watching Masters of Sex since I think Lizzy Caplan is crazy hot.

Moved in to a house with a dishwasher.

I never used one before and have no idea if it works or not.
.............. okay, I don't know who you are but that's just dumb. Put some soap in. Turn the knob. Push a button. Arm yourself with knowledge.
