Wait just a minute. I thought it was the exact opposite and that Sega was basically holding the franchise hostage. If Suzuki has already somehow owned the IP for a while now, then why has it taken this long for him to do anything with it? Also, how was Ryo a DLC character for the PC version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed?

While this is certainly exciting and shocking news, the whole thing is just a bit confusing. I'm not even sure how this became a legal possibility. It also seems strange that no port/remake of the first two games has been announced or even hinted at yet. So, to play domestically released versions of the whole series, you're going to have to use a Dreamcast, an Xbox or Xbox 360, and a PS4 or PC? :whistle2:?

My issue is that Shenmue 3 is a PS4 console exclusive and you're telling me Sony can't even give it a pity fuck of a measly two million? Two million from this bullshit overly extravagant trade show where they cater and provide drinks and prizes for the press and they can't afford that? My issue is never with the fans in my argument, but with the fact that Sony can't shell out a damn thing for a cheap non indie exclusive.

That and the delivery of all this by Yu Suzuki just left a bad taste in my mouth. He made it seem like he's tried everything and this was his last option. No, it just made him look like a beaten dog having to go to the Sony stage and beg for money as opposed to just fucking going for it on Kickstarter. It didn't feel like best of intentions or "for the fans" as much as he wants as much money as he can get NOW. Nothing about this made Sony or Yu Suzuki look good, it just made everyone on that stage looking fucking dirty to me. So that's why it's pathetic to me.

I guess you went into it with different expectations because Adam Boyes clearly started that announcement by talking about how much Kickstarter has had a big impact on helping PS4 games get made like Octodad, Sportsfriends, and Broken Age and that they had talked to a developer that wanted to bring back a fan favorite. He also says that it's "very much their project and we just wanted to celebrate their announcement on our stage" that made it clear to me what was going on. I don't know how you would get tricked into thinking it wasn't a Kickstarter announcement unless you turned it on right after Adam stopped talking.

The Bloodstained Kickstarter did a very similar thing by getting featured on Double Fine and Kinda Funny's Youtube channels along with a lot of hype created with the website and all that. The best-selling Kickstarters find ways to get their project out there in the best way possible due to their reputation or what they're pitching. Shenmue III probably would have gone a little bit slower, but this how it would've gone either way. They got a break that E3 was around the same time as their desired Kickstarter launch time, so they could work out a deal with Sony to have a special launch for the KS campaign.

If they weren't doing it for the fans, there wouldn't be a Kickstarter in the first place. There's a reason why the only way that Sega has acknowledged its existence is in their Sonic kart and tennis games.

It wasn't a code, I had to open the message on my one, then it took me to the app and I was able to get in that way. But it WAS from them and it said welcome to the preview program..

Alan Wake is in the splash image on the page for BC so that's all but confirmed. It's also a Microsoft game so it's definitely confirmed.

So I played Kameo for about two hours and this seems to work pretty well.  There's a few seconds where it like hangs when you start or close it with the VM starting up/shutting down but it's a minor inconvenience like on the 3DS switching to DS mode.  Hopefully they get the list expanded pretty quick.  Seriously considering dumping my 360 that lives by my XB1 and is barely used.  Will still have another for anything they don't end up adding but it works as well as I would have hoped so far.

 
I'm really excited to see what games MS adds. I just hope MS doesn't give the games with all those votes the most priority because 5 fucking CoD games  :wall: in top 10. 

Anyways tried VP: TiP on :xb1: and then realized it was in the Rare Replay so deleted it. Looked at the games in my ready to install and there's nothing I want to download. Need moar games now MS.

I was going to stop playing Kameo and then realized that I'm actually interested in playing it now, already have almost everything I would want from Rare Replay on 360. Separate GS if I go crazy and decide to play it again for that reason.

I tried that game years ago (07 I think) and hated it for some reason. Want to give it another shot because a lot of people seem to like it. I have pretty much nothing from the Rare Replay thankfully besides VP: TiP and Perfect Dark Zero. Glad I passed on that Banjo bundle now.

It's definitely not great, the mechanics are dated and has a lot of those tells that it was an early gen title. It still looks nice enough though and even though it's a little rough to play and doesn't behave quite like you would expect these days it's not enough to put me off it. Not going to stress about achievements or any sort of Rare style collectibles (if they show up) and just play through it.

Damn. I forgot it lacked a single player component. I've always like 1943's art style. Why they couldn't include a single player campaign like other Battlefield games is beyond me. Guess I will have to put that $4.94 towards something else.

Don't give it away!

One code is download code, other one is access code, so practically you need both codes activated.

After downloading, activate second code that you got and try to run the game. If licence is not pulled from their servers, power cycle your xbone and it should work.

Got couple of friends that gave away their codes now they can't access beta....

 
After playing the Gears Ultimate beta for several hours, I'm really disappointed they just didn't do a remastered collection. Gears 1 MP is just too archaic and there is still sponging (had to shoot a guy who was standing still sniping several times). Gears 2 MP would benefit  greatly from 60fps and better netcode, but who know when (if ever) that comes out.

But the thing is, none of these games were for playstation to begin with. The kickstarters were all originally for PC.

Are you talking about hip firing the Gnasher? I found that to be so inconsistent, where you and the enemy would be missing each other when only feet away. You basically have to hard aim it to control the scatter. Then there's times where you're both shooting, but they seem to shoot faster. Something about the coding or maybe it's actual lag, but so many shotgun fights at close range seem to missing shots and people having to roll around.

I know Gears of War was like this, but I swear the shotgun blasts actually hit targets when you hip fired in that game. I just figured a Remaster would be better. It's still fun, and looks really nice. I found myself playing for 2 hours last night and it totally took me back to the nights I played Gridlock, minus to shaed pool of lives.

Also, team objective is just so bad to play when you don't have a team. I know that's obvious, but matchmaking should not have 4 randoms battle a team of 4. We still won, sure, but I had to get every control point on my own.

If you ask me I think Shenmue is being paid by Sony for timed exclusivity. The game is very much an indy game ($30, no physical PS4 release) and those typically have no bounds on exclusivity unless they are published by MS/Sony. I am pretty upset that they arent releasing a physical Xbox 1 copy, as it would be preferred, but I suppose I will snag it on steam for $5 in 2019. I'm happy it's getting made but upset that Sony may be paying to keep it off of the XBOX. If this and Street Fighter are true console exclusives, I would like to see MS open their pocketbook and start buying exclusive games and DLC because Sony is killing it in the "moneyhatting" department.

Where have you been for the past few years? That's basically all Microsoft have been doing until this year.
