It's random. Some people have the first code from after the conference, but still have not received the other. That's probably a small portion, but it's not going perfectly.

I will say that if you have the download code you should start downloading it right away. It took me about 90 minutes to download the almost 7GB file. Live was hit hard yesterday, so it might be faster today.

They have extened the Day One Weapon Skin called Mars to be unlocked today as well if any of you missed it.

Also, Cole Train's special skin is available to unlock this Saturday, 12-5PM EST, if any of you are Cole fans.

Amplitude and Sportsfriends were for PS4 along with many others. Both of those got posts on the PlayStation Blog since Sony has no problem helping them with promotion to give them the best chance of succeeding. I linked those two so you can see that for yourself instead of making assumptions.

You really think it would not have even gotten funded without appearing on the press conference? It would have done so either way.

After downloading, activate second code that you got and try to run the game. If licence is not pulled from their servers, power cycle your xbone and it should work.

They sent me the beta code twice, and I got an Activation code

I had to delete the activation then re download in order to play

 
I think I am going to find and vote for that destiny bc request, I am sure some idiot created it :)

I loved MS presentation but Sony's was a little bland/underwhelming. I know even they cant come up with a bloodborne every year and Uncharted Uncharted looked awesome. :)

It was not the games per se - the games have been pretty good all along. You have to hand it to the Japanese, they know how to make games :). But, just the way the show went, it was somehow off-key. It didnt excite me the way MS announcements did.

It doesn't mean anything (or, it may mean everything) but I think MS won this round of the annual E3 contest. And no, I am not discounting Nintendo out; I am just limiting the discussion to the non-traditionalist contenders. :)

You guys can have a go at me now...

No I get I have to buy them off Xbox.com but since disc and digital 360s are coming over, (right?) I could increase my library by buying digital and hard copies of 360 games when on sale to only play on the One?

I just want to say that I am personally super excited about this BC announcement. For someone who still has a huge backlog of 360 games that he wants to play and a short list of must play games on the One I am so thrilled that soon I will be able to play some of those old games on my new system. I prefer the feel and comfort of the Xbox One controller, I prefer the XBone interface, the quick swapping between apps, and so on and so forth. Furthermore, now my One can act as a backup for when my 360 eventually does die, without having to worry about when/where I'll get my next 360 to finish off these old games. As more games roll out on the BC list I can bump those down my priority to play list while focusing on the ones that are still only available on my 360. I am just so pleased with this announcement I could jump up and down and shout!

Now I just need preview access.... anyone? :D (Yes, I already posted in the other thread, bite me.)

You can only do it if you are in the preview program. If you are, go to the preview program and click the link that takes you to the BC games. It is in the quests area.

You are checking your Xbox messages for the codes, correct? I got the first code allowing the download pretty quickly yesterday afternoon. They sent that code a 2nd time last night, then just before 1am Eastern I got the code to activate the demo, then they sent the download code a 3rd time just before 3am Eastern.

Didn't get a 360 until early 2008, and my first Gears game was 2. By the time I tried Gears 1, I got matched into lobbies paired with randoms against partied teams who demolished us. Played a couple matches of the demo this morning. Looks great, but it just feels so slow compared to 3. Also seemed to be paired with randoms against a group, because they weren't broken up between matches. Wasn't keen on them covering spawn with the boomshot and sniper. I'm sure the people that proclaim "I maintained a 3.5 K/D ratio, all off-host" and decry any attempt to reign in the Gnasher on forums will love it. I just hope there's Horde and Beast.

Yea, hipfiring feels so random. Some games I gib people with ease and other games I'm struggling to even down someone who doesn't even see me.

That and the game just feels...old. Even at 60fps it still feels sluggish and slow to fire. I like this version waaaaaaay more than the original Gears 1, but I'm already going back to Gears 2/3 tonight.

I love Square Enix, but their press conference is putting me to sleep. It's like they never updated their format since the last time they did one of these at E3.

They also shouldn't have given Sony all the videos and announcements because half of Square Enix's conference is literally the same videos and announcements from the Sony conference :/

Just remember that the Gnasher fires from the center of the screen and not the end of the barrel. You will connect more hip fire shots that way. This is the way it was in the first game, it just feels weird.

Also, go to gearsofwar.com, register and vote in the Ultimate Edition subsection of the forum for the next map to be added. Apparently nearly 10,000 matches have almost been played. 4 maps to place your vote on: Canals, Courtyard, Gold Rush and War Machine. I'm curious if Courtyard and Gold Rush will look like the Windows Live versions or the Gears of War 2 versions.

You can't invite friends to join your matches, but in many games I've had chatty teammates who worked well together (except for in objective), so don't be afraid to use your headsets.

Fascinating that they have disabled the party system in the Gears beta..... though that's one interesting way to force people to talk to each other.

Workaround: test your luck and try to join the same lobby at the same time?

Downside I cannot play with my current set of friends.

How long do they take to send out the Access key after the download key?
I'm waiting for all my keys before sending my download key to someone that got the access key.

There is a way to join together, but I don't think it's easy.  I know in the King of the Hill match I played last night the opposing team were all friends, and that one of their teammates was dropped in the first few seconds of the match.  He was then able to rejoin the match a few minutes later (maybe he had to restart the system?).  I assume he was able to look into the recent players option, as I've read that invites don't work.

In fairness to the game, the original Gears of War didn't allow for parties.  But I also haven't heard people be that talkative and helpful since the first Gears of War, before the influx of Halo and Call of Duty screamers and racist homophobes spread to almost every online game.

Pre-orders of the game include the Civilian Anya skin, as well as the Animated Imulsion weapon skin (lame pre-order stuff, I know).   It's good news though if you're a female player or someone who plays as females.  Hopefully all characters have the same hitboxes this time.
