There's a new Cubic Bundle for a dolla'

  • The Apotheosis Project - CARDS
  • Fitz the Fox - CARDS
  • Space Farmers - CARDS
  • Neocolonialism
  • Stigmat - CARDS
  • Star Sky - (Bundle Debut) CARDS
  • Snake Blocks (Already Greenlit. Indiegamestand key with promised Steam key when added to Steam)
Probably meh for most of you guys but I was missing Neocolonialism and Stigmat from previous bundles and of course Star Sky is new to bundles. Plus there's a hamburger today for a Snake Blocks on Tuesday.

If it were $2 I would have passed but this is better than you'll get in most Poopees bundles lately (which admittedly is not saying much at all) at a lower price.

It's only $3.59 for the following:

Dungeon Hearts

Serious Sam: The Random Encounter

Cosmic DJ

Broforce

Gods Will Be Watching

EDIT: Oh, uh, yeah, they removed Broforce. The fuckers.
Where's Broforce.....bro?
They removed it just as I was checking out. :(
75% off - Broforce - $3.74 (Steam)
Was this a glitch or just a flash sale? It's showing $7.50 now, so I guess I missed it.

I don't think it was a glitch.
Actually it was on the front page of flash sales that still have 16 hours to go but now it is not so yeah I'd say glitch or at least unintended discount.

Either that or they just love giving people blue balls with that damned game about getting a good discount.

Screw that shit.

Star Sky is $2 on the Steam sale with cards that were still going for ~$0.80 apiece, so I bought it. Now card prices are going to tank after I've already idled it and listed them on the market. Dumbass devs devaluing their own games for no reason.

I just insta-sold one for 10 cent nyah nyah :p

I actually got 8 cents which is what I would have got normally if I sold if for 10 cents, but because I did the mobile auth thingamabob it screws with the math and sells it at 9 cents.

so do you turn off the VPN once you get to check out i.e. before paypal or does that matter?
Depends on what VPN you have.

If you have PIA, like myself, no point in turning it off at any point.

But if you are using a "free" one or web browser, turn it off before logging into anything.

I've read some people have had trouble with activations from keys boought through nuuvem. Has anyone heard of problems with these games?:

Dying Light plus Season pass as a seperate key
Evil Within
Cities Skylines and After Dark
Assassins Creed Rouge

Deciding if it's worth the risk vs the steam sale. It's a difference of almost $50 to buy through nuuvem than steam.

AssCreed Moulin Rouge is Uplay key btw. Not that I care but some people shit a brick over that.

I think Blade didn't get the memo that you're not supposed to buy games for cards

People have bought Dying Light and Cities Skylines without trouble activating them.  I know Bethesda region locks stuff but don't know if they have an SA lock.  Check Steamdb.com if you're worried.

So now that we are several days into this sale, have most of you bought more or less than last year?

My gut tells me that overall it's gotta be less, but I do see a fair amount of buying activity on my Friends List feed. I've personally spent about $30 versus $18 last year. Now, most of that has gone towards the Disney Mega Pack 2 and the 3D Realms Anthology packs, Take those out for whatever reason and I've made about half as many individual purchases this year.

I guess the true test is going to be the Winter Sale. If they follow the same discount guideline, will we start buying stuff out of boredom? Will Gabe come up with some crazy event/scheme that goads us all into buying more than we should?

I only bought the Quake Bundle (from bundlestars) and Transformers (from GMG)

Which is overall more from last year, cause last november i only bought WiiU games. Smash 4 is probably why I was being stingy during the autumn sale last year

I'm not really sure what people expect. It's not like there's been hundreds of new exciting good games released in the last year and that we've restrained ourselves from buying everything under the sun.

Since that's not the case of course there's not going to be a ton of stuff for us to buy.

The Disney was an odd case because they were extremely late to get the memo that if you want to sell a PC game you really need to put it on Steam so those packs have years worth of stuff (or arguable quality too but hey we're hoarders) and they've been chintzy with the sales until now too.

I don't expect to see a lot of that sort of thing though, just sort of the odd game here and there.

Most of us are not building a collection anymore, we're just catching up with a few newish decent games we haven't gotten yet and buying a lot utter of crap in the meantime

Yeah, it's probably an unanswerable question... at least by anyone outside of Valve or a handful of publishers. I know we aren't the ideal measuring stick by which to gauge the success of the sale. Still, anecdotal evidence is the only fuel we have for discussion of the merits of the sale.

It's certainly less interesting to me, but the vote I cast with my wallet has the outcome at a draw.

I hardly ever buy anything during Steam's black friday sales.  Seems like everything is either the same price or better (occasionally worse but not often) in the winter sale, plus purchases will net me a holiday card if nothing else.

I did get Lords of the Fallen from nuuvem though if that counts.  Might try to pickup Dying Light too if it will let me.

I don't really remember what I bought last Black Friday sale.  From my completely random recollection, it felt like this year the Halloween sale was a lot better than last year and I got my fix then so I don't really see myself buying much, if anything this sale.  One of my friends was really happy that Elite Dangerous was on sale and bought it so I think for the average fan the sale is good.

What would I be looking for on that site? I'm navigating around but don't see the list that tells if a specific game is reedemable in the US or has a universal key. Thanks.

Last year I think there was a "leaked" memo that prices would be the same between the Black Friday & winter sales.  I wonder if that same policy is in place given the change to daily / flash deals.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. I didn't get anything from the gem auctions, and I'm pretty sure I just won $270 in Steam gift cards, so I wouldn't mind a "deals only" winter sale. ;)

Look at all you suckers buying games with actual money when we're just 18 days away from the next gem auction.

:whee:
Wouldn't that be great? The gem auction was the best event around or during a big sale that Valve had done in quite some time (and fuck that Clicker game). I'm not getting my hopes up though since Valve has never ran the same metagame of sorts in consecutive Summer or Winter sales. Unless you're counting getting themed cards for voting on predetermined winners potentially discounted games.

Let's be honest here. This is what I'm expecting and predicting, a Clicker game point auction that nets you special winter gems that you can use to build card sets that you can then redeem to try and win a raffle ticket to help your designated team win a daily race that will give you a chance of winning a game on your wish list. *runs out of breath* Who's excited?!?

Must you bring up your glamorous Birthday Month haul again? :speaktothehand:

Steam's "community market sale" ends on 16th December.

The Winter Sale traditionally ends on the 20th.

I'm excited.

*buys more sacks of gems*

I'm not sure if being forced to play a shitty game non-stop for a week qualifies as "winning"

It's as much "winning" as HitlerCat's Amazon credit card post was a steam deal!

Looking at my purchase history, I bought nothing over this sale last year aside from a few trades as key trading for games was still somewhat easy.

This year I've picked up Kings Quest Complete (Newegg glitch), Elite Dangerous (bit after all), Scholar of the First Sin upgrade, and the new version of ARES that was glitched.

WTF USPS. You can drop something worth a grand in my mail box, but god forbid I'm not there to sign for a 50 dollar Steam link. Now I've got to buy more games to stave off depression.

My Saturday night is being spent watching Cloverfield.

Question to the thread: who's more annoying? Cloverfield main character-narrator or FarCry 3 main character-narrator?

I want both to die a horrible death.

Deal talk: FarCry 3 is on sale so you can find out for yourself!

:grouphug:

Speaking of, apparently FC4 and Child of Light got added as new deals on Steam during a sale that wasn't supposed to have any new sales past the first day. :p

Only College is worth mentioning though since it's 75% off while FC4 is crappie 50% off really?
