WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

so you can do (sealed) console exchanges at gamestop and keep the free game without issues?

if thats is the case I will buy the halo bundle and then exchange it for the battlefield-1 bundle

 
Huh I got one of those $50 off xbox one coupons. Now what assurance would I have that if I give that to someone I don't get banned? I've got about 60k PUR points I'd prefer not to lose.

People will say they give them to others no problem but it isn't worth it in my eyes. Whatever couple of bucks you would make from the coupon is not worth the risk of losing an account.

Depends on the employee , they should technically make you return the free game as well even doing an exchange.

You don't lose the account.You aren't banned or anything. I've literally used over 100,000 in points off my brothers account. Nothing has happened to his account. There is no risk. The only individual at risk is the person using the coupons if the coupons aren't from their account. The person who gives the coupon away has absolutely nothing to lose. There is also a thread specifically for gamestop coupon trading as oppose to everyone asking here.

Pretty sure this is exactly why it seems like only certain people got the coupon, because they know that noone is gonna pick up the Gears bundle if you can basically get a 1tb console with 2 free games right now. I know I have/had the Gears console preordered and didnt get a coupon, I would venture to say that anyone who has the Gears or Battlefield consoles preordered did not recieve the code.

 
As someone who is a Sony fanboy, selling my X1 coupon for $3 to established traders (20+ fb). Unless you are my CAG buddy, then you can have it for free.

It's possible , of my 3 accounts the one that didn't get the coupon is the one with the gears pre order. I've also bought 3 X1's on that account so it could be either one.

You should just put him on ignore already, if you're so irritating with the throat shoving you keep talking about. I'm sure your throat will remain virgin and not have anyone shove anything down it, so just put him on ignore already and call it a day.

I'll trade each for an iTunes movie code :) doesn't matter what the movie is I just like a good trade.

 
What is the standard base TIV for a new game? Since I got Gears of War 4 digitally for cheap, I'm thinking of getting the steelbook version and trading in the game ASAP.

Isn't it currently 20% and the 50% doesn't start until Saturday? TIV usually change on Fridays too. Probably best to wait until Friday unless I am missing something.

Didn't I see that a lot of those cheap Gears codes going around last weekend were stolen & could get revoked?

I guess it's possible but I've read stuff like this has happened in the past and they let them just keep it. Regardless, if it is revoked I will just file a PayPal case.

I could have swore they already were. Because iirc now you have to show proof of purchase for the GPU or the code will show as invalid.

That's only if you haven't redeemed the Nvidia code yet (which you should have done ASAP after receiving the code). It still shows "You own this." and I can preload the game now.
