He didn't say it was a "bogus coupon". He lied and said it didn't stack, when it in fact, does.

Yep. I sure am entitled over $5 when I just finished paying off a $300 pre-order, working towards another $30 one.

Okay, let's back up for a second. Unlike most people here, I do not flip very often. I traded in 5 games in the month of February (which is honestly a lot for me, but I've been slowly building up credit to pay off my Switch). 2 of those games were with the coupon (Black Ops Combo & Black Ops 3, thanks for posting Starlight) because I was not aware of the coupon when I flipped the previous 2 (games that I decided to convert to digital).

I wanted to flip one game with the coupon today so I would have just enough to pay off a pre-order (a total of 3 coupon uses). So no, I was not there every day, nor was I putting the Gamestop out of business.

It's not like the $5 comes out of the dude's pocket, so I'm not sure how it's on the manager's "dime" either.

It's simple, he wants to be a tightass over $5, he's gonna get burned. End of story.
While saying that, your intention was to use a promo not geared towards your intended purchase, was it not?

You admitted that you had no interest in purchasing your preorder and that you were using it to pad your credit to get another game that would not be nearly as cheap without the promo. Burning a manager that saw right through that is indeed entitlement. Burning a manager for refusing your coupon because he has no idea whag he is doing is not entitlement. Hopefully its the latter or yes you are practicing entitlement.

Im not that guy, i really want you to eat, but consider your actions as you work. You'd do the same thing and you know itm

Gamestop has hitman season 1 steel book on sale this week for $40 and I just paid 60 like two days ago. I didn't open it yet can I get a price adjustment or should I return it. Also did a order on gamestop online if I don't get my games in plastic can I return them to my store. Sorry all the rookie questions I'm new lol

There's no point arguing either because like with the "free" Xbone Kinect (which I didn't burn him on because it was YMMV), coupons are subject to "managerial discretion" aka "fuck you, I can do what I want even if our systems allow it."

You're an ass, end of story. Good luck shopping there in the future.

Maybe Im just tired, but Im confused by this question....
Even if a game is fully paid off, you can take advantage of the TIV bonuses for pre-ordering that game if you do a trade in during the same transaction as you picking up the game.

It hasn't been YMMV for me (maybe I've had good luck), but you can probably get a price adjustment on the game. And yes, you can return an online purchase in-store. Make sure to bring in your order paperwork from the shipment.

You tell them other CAGs to check their coupon privileges. Has this manager accepted it before but decided to not want to today? Did you remind him that $5 coupon is a way to encourage trades from customers such as yourself?

You got me there. I was indeed using the Switch bump for a non-Switch pre-order. But it's still a pre-order, that's gotta count for something right?

He didn't see through anything. He saw me across the room with a coupon while I was doing a trade-in and I guess he just assumed it was the infamous evil $5 coupon and said that it didn't stack. So I find it hard to believe that it was out of "incompetence".

Wow, an actual member of the GameStop Defense Force on here.

The one time I used it (this past Sunday), I don't believe there was a manager there, but two employees who I'm friendly with. The associate didn't even blink twice when I traded in the two games separately and used the coupon each time. Girl was patient as a saint, and I made sure to give her good feedback on each of my four receipts.

Again, I'm not bringing in $200 worth of games or anything, just small trades. I doubt anyone who works there besides this one asshole manager would have turned me down this time around.

I guess that's why he got promoted.

No, I didn't remind him of that because I can guarantee you it would have led to an argument (he got kinda pissy with me last year when I mentioned that the fine print on the Kinect coupon didn't say anything about not stacking with store sales which is when he gave me that "managerial discretion" bullshit) and I don't need to make shit awkward at my favourite GS.

While I agree that a lot of people on here act entitled, I don't think it's the case with Bobby. If he has a $5 extra credit coupon, it is not expired , and it was a legit coupon (not printed, on his phone, etc) then yeah, he has every right to use it since that's it purpose.

Its possible the manager was confused and thought i expired "on" he 28th and that meant it was no longer valid today.
His words were "I see you've got a coupon in your hand. The coupon doesn't stack with the Switch game pre-order bonus". Nothing about expiration, but a fair point to raise.

I'm guessing the extra TiV bonuses upon pickup is only if the promo was still active right? If you picked up the item in April, extra TiV bonuses would not apply right? lol just making sure...

I tried to return the steelcase version of Beyond 2 Souls once so I could rebuy it using the $5 Kongregate coupon making it $4.99 instead of $9.99, but they refused saying that coupon couldn't be stacked w/sale prices on new games -_- lol

I cancelled about $120 worth of preorders without any problems. If the rep starts asking you why you're canceling it, just say some bills came up and you're not able to get a Switch anymore. They shouldn't ask you, but some people are just nosy/too serious about their job
It might get awkward if I have to preorder these items again after cancelling them just to take advantage of the bonus. :D/

I like paying my bills with trade credit also.

I think your over reacting, you should be happy they even gave you a coupon and let you use it on back to back transactions. Since the coupon came out, I only received two of them. I know people on here have mentioned they never got one at all.

I don't trade as much as some people on here but I do trade something in at least once a week. I never got a coupon from any of my local stores.

Yeah, the coupons that I got were from stores I don't usually go to. It's pretty bad when the 2 stores I frequent pull up your account when you walk to the counter without even giving them your name or number.

That's how my homestore is with me, but I'm also the only one that shops that store with area code that I have.

I never once received a coupon. Even asked about the big stack of cards behind the pin pad. Bought and traded a ton of stuff since it began.

I had 1 employee at 1 store that scanned it every time I traded
I got a card for preordering the switch

Other than that, no cards given from any of the 6 GameStop I frequent

Between the two stores I frequently go to and one I go to every now and then I got 3 total. The first time the associate signed it and handed it to me for later use. At the other two stores respectively the associates pulled one and scanned it.

Guys, please do the mods a favor.  Do not quote problematic/insulting posts mocking the user etc.  It makes it harder to find everyone who quoted the person instead of just being able to take care of the individual post.

Thank you.

I used the coupon frequently, so much so that it was scanned for me without me even pulling mine out (walked right into that one). That said, when the email came, and threats were tossed, i ceased use of the coupon to keep not only my account, but the cool employees out of the fire for working with me for so long.

Ive personally witnessed a liquidation of staff at a store for working with customers and that sight is not pretty so i can understand a manager being a dick from time to time trying to "protect the family". Charge it to his head, not his heart. One things for sure, the store needs your trade and purchase more than you need that particular store. Dont hurt everyone because of the actions of one.

They must be shamed!

When will the "Switch Information Sign Up" thing in my preorders go away? Some bozo signed me up for one to pad his preorder numbers and now it's at the top of my preorder list and won't go away >_>

I have 3 of these fucking things attached to my account. I try to stop the clerks before they sign me up but I'm obviously not doing very well lol

best way to contact gamestop about online order?  ordered dirt rally ps4 along with 4 other games last week. everything ship except dirt rally.:/

I just bought a used copy of HW2 which happens to be the Ultimate edition which appears to still have the DLC intact, but when I enter the code on the computer it's showing a download for the full game instead of the season pass is that normal?
You sure you're not mistaking that for the Halo Wars 1 Definitive Edition? That's included in the season pass.

id like to ask and confirm what ive read a couple of pages back, when getting a b2g1 coupon for renewing, i can get more than 1 free game if i buy multiples of 3? (b3g1,b6g2, etc.)

Quick question about the Buy 2 get 1 free coupon for renewing you PUR subscription. Is that only issued once a year? I renewed a few days ago and since then have already used the Buy 2 get 1 free coupon, but I would gladly renew again if it would mean I would get another coupon. Also, how long does it usually take for them to issue it?

It is one every time you renew. So yes you would get another if you renew. Takes about 2 days.

You also need to use the B2G1 coupon you have before you renew again or you waste money/points. You cannot have multiple B2G1 coupons from renewing at one time.

Yea. I used it a couple days ago so I should be good. Thanks for the info. Hopefully the TIV stays the same for the next couple days until I get the coupon.

Yes, if you renew again you will get another coupon in about 48 hours and it will extend your expiration date out another year. I did another renewal during a Pro Day late last year and my PUR Pro membership doesn't expire now until late 2019. I am sure there a few of us with PUR Pro until 2020 or later.

Three of the games that I'm interested in trading in are at two different stores. I didn't know you could get banned for trading them back in to the store you bought them from. I'll just go to a third store near me to avoid the trouble.
