Well some people would rather pay the extra money to get the item now, avoid the lines, or deal with the hassle of searching for one.

There's a Nintendo of America Press Release in the article you posted.Eh it looks like only Europe is getting a restock? https://kotaku.com/nintendo-bringing-back-the-nes-classic-in-2018-1803771394
It talks about Europe getting a restock, but what about the usa and japan?
I believe the SNES Classic will answer this.I wonder if Nintendo will address the software mod on the 2018 NES Classic models.
Maybe the article was updated since you posted it, but it includes a tweet from Nintendo of Japan about the Famicom Mini and Nintendo of America's press release about the NES Classic.Eh it looks like only Europe is getting a restock? https://kotaku.com/nintendo-bringing-back-the-nes-classic-in-2018-1803771394

$600? The most I saw them go for was around $300.Damn, opportunity missed when I could have sold my NESC for $600. Ah well, at least mine is one of the LE's and has been a ton of fun to play over the year.
I saw one of these on OfferUp in my area, I was super confused by it. Crazy that it's a thing.$600? The most I saw them go for was around $300.
Have you guys seen these fake NES classics on ebay?

I haven't heard of this mod. What exactly was done?I believe the SNES Classic will answer this.
If the SNES classic is modded within a month (which i expect), then the NES classic Re-run will be as well.
I doubt nintendo is gonna bother with reworking the code on these niche systems.
It's not like people can't pirate/play these roms on other devices already.
It prints money out the front lid to resellers.I haven't heard of this mod. What exactly was done?
Going into detail would violate CAG forum rules, so you won't be able to get an actual answer here.I haven't heard of this mod. What exactly was done?
Oh, ok. I didn't mean every detail, like how to actually mod it. I'm just curious why someone would mod it. Rephrased:Going into detail would violate CAG forum rules, so you won't be able to get an actual answer here.
Use your imagination, what do you think a console that only plays 30 games would do after modding...Oh, ok. I didn't mean every detail, like how to actually mod it. I'm just curious why someone would mod it. Rephrased:
What does it do differently post-mod?

It was right after Nintendo announced discontinuing the NESC and people lost their minds. There were multiple systems I saw going for anywhere between $400-600 IIRC.$600? The most I saw them go for was around $300.

Look at Nintendo previous track record. They say they'll have a lot and it'll be the same circus as before. And in a single instant, scalpers across the globe cried out in anguish....
Haha, I was never going to sell mine so it doesn't affect me in the least. However, I'm happy to see more people will be able to get one as well.
Amazon called me and reinstated my order. Watch for a call from a 206 area code!!My amazon order got cancelled. Apparently since I'm not in the contiguous 48 states, they can't ship it to me. What really pisses me off was that I logged into my orders as soon as I received this and the order was already cancelled. I called customer support and they said it was cancelled about 1 minute after the email was sent.

I'm not too hopeful. For the last year or two they stopped delivering power banks and backup batteries to my state no matter who the dealer is. Probably due to airline regulations.Amazon called me and reinstated my order. Watch for a call from a 206 area code!!
I hear you. Yes, the regulations changed for shipping batteries. But I don't even know if the snes classic has a battery or if it's big enough to be regulated. Amazon let me re-create the order to Alaska. So I hope they call you too!I'm not too hopeful. dont underestimate mr Wario. he will do it for us. but im mad he didnt do Metroid Legacy Edition.we got 16 more days folks. so how alert should we be for the super famicom? like who will alert us? i don't think wario 64 will alert us
well i did tweet him about he and he did tell me he probably wasn't going to alert us so :/dont underestimate mr Wario. he will do it for us. but im mad he didnt do Metroid Legacy Edition.
Those will probably be gone in a day if not the morning by campers, thanks to the NES conditioning. More important is how frequently stock will be replenished.nintendeal tweeted toysrus is sevuring 28,000 snes classics and thats about close to 50 per store
Most TRUs will probably have more than 50 people lined up launch morning so some people that waited outside on day 1 will still not get it. As previously posted by scottman, how often they replenish supplies will be key.nintendeal tweeted toysrus is sevuring 28,000 snes classics and thats about close to 50 per store
It will also be interesting to see if they let stores like gamestop do more pre orders once it turns out that there will be plenty of stock. If that tweet is accurate, that means every TRU will have between 30 and 90 units. That is a very respectable number. It's possible they have more to give out since they never opened up online preorders, but there was evidence in that chain also that walmarts are getting at least 30 as well. They will still be selling out instantly, but those are at least respectable launch shipments. As others have pointed out, it all boils down to how well N does restocking quickly.
Now everyone can buy 3-5 units for their friends. If that tweet is accurate, that means every TRU will have between 30 and 90 units. That is a very respectable number. LOL it shows as in stock for 451$ (50000 yen) from a third party seller.Damn. Did not to my homework and literally missed all the super famicom preorders while driving home.
https://gamewith.jp/gamedb/article/show/61075?from=ios
they always said soon... but if nin nin games charges scalpers prices then play asia willLOL it shows as in stock for 451$ (50000 yen) from a third party seller.
edit
play asia says "preorder soon" it used to say something else?
Announced - Pre-orders opening soon. Expected to ship:Oct 05, 2017
Was about to post the same thing. I have a UK and Germany pre-order... but all signs seem to suggest Nintendo is actually making more this time around. I might not get them right off the bat but that it should be easier to find as time goes on.Now I am debating should u cancel my Amazon fr order and try to get one on launch day. Not to mention there is a chance they will cancel the order.
