I haven't posted my finds in a while. June and July were fantastic.

This Gamecube bundle pictured below was $5...total. Not pictured is Mario Strikers, a Gamecube Gameboy Player Disc, and a few controllers. At that same sale I got a pair of Bose 301 Series IV speakers for $10.

A half hour after that find I got a Pokemon XD themed Nintendo Gamecube system with 4 controllers including a Wavebird for $10.

Also the weekend before I found a GC GB Player disc for 50 cents.

This Nintendo 3DS XL was $10.

Someone gave me these Bose 201 speakers for free. They worked and only needed new foam around the drivers.

This GBA SP bundle with Pokemon Blue was $15.

And here are some gaming finds I flipped at Gamestop during the 70% madness.

Mario Kart GBA - $1
NBA 2K13 Wii - $1
Spiderman Web of Shadows PS3 and XB360 - $1 each
Kirby Air Ride - $3
Mario Advanced 2 - $1
Wario Land - $1
Black OPs 2 XB360 - $7

Some amazing deals there.

Yard sales have been kind of butts around here, but I did snag the stuff below a couple of weeks ago for $25

Got to three yard sales yesterday.

First one is one I've been to at least four times before and had some okay finds. Found my friend a Pontiac CD case for his Trans Am years back and the other year found a few random early-mid 90's comics for 25 cents. Some new stuff, though. There was a small stack of game related stuff and zombie books. Gears of War art book was there. Picked up a Turianosaurus Wrex sticker (Mass Effect). Not sure what the sticker cost as my sister got it for me as she found a few things including two mid 1980's kid's league baseball/softball jackets in insanely good shape.

Next one was a tarp with some DVDs, kitchen stuff and boxes of clothes. Only thing that piqued my interest was the original The Day the Earth Stood Still, but I already have it from another yard sale.

Final one had a dozen or so PS2 games, two ATV racing games and the rest were karaoke. Had two PS2 controllers as well, but I'm good on those.

It finally happened!

Found a first party N64 controller with no system for $1, a black one. The left side bottom is cracked a bit, but it looks like it should still work or at the very least I can use it for parts if need be (mine has something rattling inside the center stick area, but it still works). Guessing my theory is right that quite a bit were busted due to a combination of bad storage and their weird shape and not the best plastic. I've seen dozens of N64s (with or without games or the power piece) over the dozen years, but it's rare to see even one controller. And I've seen one stand alone controller on its own and it was third party.

Also at tha sale I found the Terminator 2 soundtrack for 50 cents.

Other one was run out of a repair garage. Nothing I was really interested in, but he had some free stuff so I picked up a pencil case that goes into a binder for my nephews as it was still new and sealed. And got a pen and ice scraper advertising his business.

Picked up a 160GB PS3 Slim with 2 controllers, a ps move bundle, extra move motion controller, 4 sport games, RDR and Dead Island (which were both sealed) for $30. Works great, looks like it hasnt been turned on since 2013.

Been a slow 2-3 months for video game pick ups. Seems like when I get to go out it either rains or can't find anything. Hopefully the game deals pick back up with this cooler weather.

No luck this weekend. Got to three sales.

First one was unadvertised, no signs either. Just happened to see it a block up from the path I was taking home. Had some 360 and PSP games. No prices and the cases were moist from the weather. Passed. Next two were near my house. Lots of antiques at the first, but I did get a set of sealed full sized bed sheets for $5. Marked $24.99 from JC Penney on the packaging. Best I can find bed sheets is Ollie's and they're rarely $8, usually $10. (Man I'm getting old.) Next one was just country style decor. Priced to move, but nothing I was interested in.

Got to one Labor Day sale today. My sister got a Mario & Luigi DS case for $1 or less. Had some a handful of 360 games, but none I was interested in. A few $5 Wii games including Donkey Kong Returns, which I have. One DS game, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

Up front were a stack of "Nuclear like a BOSS" stickers from Gamestop. Figured they were for Fallout 4, so I picked one up and the woman said to just take it.

I suppose Facebook Marketplace purchased best fit here. Picked these up for $25 yesterday and most are complete or close to it. Take particular note of the Apple II version of Ultima V. That one is going on my eBay store for $90-$100. 😉[attachment=27873:IMG_2999.JPG]

Decent haul today for the fall version of the one community yard sale.

DC Super Heroes Super Healthy Cookbook. Saw this laying on a table of books and had it to have it. This is some kid's cookbook from 1981. Ever want to make "Ma Kent's Whole Wheat Pancakes"? "Wonder Woman's Natural Soda Pop"? "Batman & Robin's Secret Salad Dressings"? This book has it covered. It's in pretty bad shape with a page ripped, but it was 50 cents.

Underworld and X-Men First Class (both Widescreen) $1.25 each.

WWF The Music Vol 4, Vol 5 and Aggression. $1 each.

Bad News Bears (Billy Bob version), CopOut, The Book of Eli, The Watch, Nicholas Cage Stolen. BNB is in a jewel case, the rest are in Redbox cases. They were marked 5 for $1, so I couldn't pass them up.

Wii says "Needs Cleaned". $5 w/ cables, but no controllers. Got Wii Play there as well for $2.

Wanted to go out today, saw quite a few sales listed on FB and saw signs driving home yesterday....... but I had been at the hospital from Tues afternoon until Fri afternoon and just feel like being lazy all day today and tomorrow! FYI, dont get pneumonia.......shit just wore me out!

Saw a modded Wii this weekend. Well guy claimed it was modded I started asking questions he wanted $25 with no remotes but had the hookups.

When the questions started he said you have about 5 mins to decide before I raise the price another $20. I put it down and walked away.

Guy was very unorganized and as getting angry at his customers and his kids. I dont think he was prepared

Yeah, if you've got an SD card and a copy of Smash Bros Brawl, you're in business. It takes maybe twenty minutes in total to do it; less if you've got the necessary files on your SD card already.

$25 isn't a terrible price for a Wii, but I've seen (and bought) them for cheaper. Plus if he's being rude, there's no need to support that behavior with your cash.

Had some really fun finds this past weekend. On Saturday I went out with a fellow gamer and we found a nice big lot of Gamecube, PS2, and XBox games. He's still working on his collection so he grabbed most of the Nintendo stuff, but I got a nice stack of PS2 and XBox stuff for $20, including .hack// Infection which I've been after. Later we stopped at Goodwill (not technically a yard sale, I know) and I found a copy of Hey! Pikmin for $6, which I'm VERY happy about.

xYFerA6.jpg

On Sunday I stopped by a fairly regular neighborhood sale where I knew there was a guy who's been selling off his old collection for a little less than eBay prices. I grabbed KI: Gold and an untested NES w/o cords for $13, then was pleasantly surprised to find out his neighbor was bringing out some stuff, too. It was the first time I've ever seen Super Famicom and NeoGeo Pocket Color stuff in the wild so I made sure to grab that plus a few other interesting looking games and a Game and Watch. I'm quite happy to have a legit copy of Metal Max Returns, that game is amazing.

nice score on the ngpc stuff. never heard of metal max returns looks fun i'll keep my eye out for it. why haven't i heard of this game before?

Modded probably = broken.

Nice find on Zoids!

GameCube and all the games minus Sims was $50. Sims, Xbox, and Sega Game's were $1 each. Black Ops 2 $3. Paid more then I wanted for GameCube lot considering it didn't have hookups, but I can't complain. Resident Evil actually had Resident Evil 4 disks in it too.

Last sale we stopped at before heading home! $30-fatty PS2 with GTA inside, cables, 2 controllers, memory card, PS2 to PS3 memory card adapter, stack of complete games, and an iMac keyboard for my old iMac G4. Sadly Zelda and Smash are just case and booklets and the black controller seems to be having the typical DS2 problem Ive been having lately were not all the buttons work.... I seriously have a Goodwill plastic bag with the shells and buttons of 7 DS2 controllers and now 2 full controllers because they all had button problems even after cleaning.

Story time. Asked the people if they had any video games they wanted to sell. We talk for a minute and they tell me to come back in half an hour they'll pull them out. So I comeback and the guy is walking outside with an NES and a bunch of games. Meet him at the table and notice a girl with a Pokemon shirt on looking at the NES games that are already out. Guy tells me they're his son's games who lives in Seattle(im in Baltimore)and he needs to ask him if he can sell them, but to make him an offer. I go low at $25 and the Pokemon girl says some of these games are worth more than $30 each. Then she takes a stack of the games and says id advise you not to sell these games for under $100. Lady running the sale tells her thanks for coming to look at them. These mofo's called an expert in on me,felt like Pawn Stars. Still left my number for when they get a hold of their son.

$30 for this lot. 250gb Xbox 360 Slim. Everything works
[attachment=28070:20170923_120702.jpg]

$10 for this lot. Prototype is sealed.
[attachment=28071:20170923_120647.jpg]

Perfect Dark Steel book, Wii Sports, Left 4 Dead 2 were $2 each. Battlefield 1 was $7. Black Ops 2(2 of these), GTA V, Mario Kart, and Mario Bros were $5 each.

Great morning at the flea market. The following were $1 each:

Tartan Asian Extreme DVDs (sealed): Sorum and Heroic Duo

CDs:
Phife Dawg (from A Tribe Called Quest) - Ventilation: Da LP
El-P (aka 1/2 of Run the Jewels) - Fantastic Damage - my find of the summer. Tried my hardest to keep my composure when I saw this in the old dude's $1 CD pile.

FanDam, as the kids may call it, is a stone cold classic.

Better just to leave your phone number from the get-go in a situation like that; chances are if the yard seller has to make a "consultation" the other party won't decide to make the sale and you're wasting your time.

Got to a yard sale today that advertised video games. Was 99% sure I knew the place and what the games were as I'd been there 2-3 months ago for the community yard sale. Was right, was 20-30 PS2 games and maybe 6 or so 360 games, mostly sports. Were $2 each with some deal for buying more than one. Glanced at them again to see if anything else was added and they were the same. Few decent titles mixed in like Gun and GTA: SA and Dead Island for the 360, but I beat Dead Island, have GTA: SA on XBox and would rather have Gun on XBox. Anyway, a couple started looking through games as I was. After I walked off, they offered them $30 for the box and got it.

My sister was digging through some boxes and in one of stuff for $1 each, handed me a GBA: SP Starter Kit still sealed. (It's the one with a small black and red carry case, car charger, 4 plastic game cases and a link cable.). Also found a sealed baby bottle cleaner in the box for $1 too. Grabbed it for my dad as he's into wine making and uses them to clean bottles/jugs.

Saw a nice condition, smaller Gateway monitor but it had no price and didn't have HDMI, so I didn't bother asking. I have a spare Dell the same size, anyway, with fancy extra USB ports.

On the way home, saw a pair of sunglasses laying on the corner of an intersection where I always find some decent stuff like box cutters and wrenches. Saw "Made in Italy" so I picked them up. Bollé brand, nothing broken or really dinged up. Looks like they're about a $30-40 pair.

Went to sale today picked up a few Wii games and the new Crash game. All for $60 Wii games were just dance 2016 and 2017, and mario kart

Not a great deal but its all trade fodder. Season is mostly done here

Just have to take a moment to vent: there's a newer yard saler here in Baltimore that's REALLY starting to piss me off. Always early birds, very brusque when it comes to sellers, hell he even has a toddler he takes to yard sales so I think people are starting to confuse me with him. This past weekend I showed up a sale advertising PS2 games and there was a box filled with sealed Shin Megami Tensei games. I asked about it and they said it was already promised to someone, and then the other guy strolls up and makes a deal for it. To top it off, I had specifically texted to ask about the games and they wouldn't give me any information about it either way. So yeah, this guy needs to GO.

Picked up a few things last weekend
Mario Kart, Just Dance 2017 and 2016 and the new Crash game for PS4 for $60. A little spendy but not bad

Mad at myself. I saw a lego head that looked like a sorter (but I thought the holes looked too big for regular lego pieces) that I set down and another person came by and picked it up when I was looking at something else. I looked it up when I got home and it must be OOP as they sell for about $35 used.

I did get a few like new disc golf discs for 50 cents each at another sale, so those were a steal.

The one where they sort by size because of the openings? Yea, it's been gone for awhile. But it's also pretty big to ship?

Yeah that's it. I could have actually used it to sort. I have a lot of legos that I bought cheap at sales. I've never bothered trying to sell them as I don't really 'get' how the valuation works. I understand vintage ones are thinner and it seems like unique pieces are worth more, and I assume specific colors may be limited, but TBH I never bothered looking into it, so they sit here in bins.

I feel stupid for not thinking about how it would work. Obviously the holes would be bigger on the top layer. For some reason I thought it was for duplo pieces. I'm going to be kicking myself for a while on this one. I could have easily sorted into smaller bags. ugh.

Eh, don't feel too bad. It just sorts by size. And it's loud. Most Legos are just sold by the pound, unless you really know what sets you have. Most pieces aren't particularly expensive, so it really isn't worth the trouble of going through everything.

Townwide yardsale the other week so finally had a good week. Townwide yardsales are the worst though - they have ruined the season for me. There was 150 official yardsales in my town and I hit about 30 or so and that was being out all morning and quitting at like 1pm. Add in probably at least 40 "bootleg" sales (the ones who don't pay the fee to the town but piggy back and make a sale that day) and I miss more than 100 sales that could be keep me busy for half the summer.

I've found a few other townwide sales in other cities this summer, but it is a lot harder at those since I don't know the streets or the area.

Anyways for the day:

$10 - Coca-Cola memorabilia honoring African Americans but it looks pretty close to being inappropriate minstrel show-esque.

$1 - Godzilla Unleashed for Wii. Had a bunch of tpb's and graphic novels but wanted $5 each and didn't seem willing to bargain down so I skipped them.

$18 - a few hundred dollars worth of models, miniatures, and other things. Guy looked like he might've owned a shop or bought out a shop inventory at some point but he was selling the stuff for super cheap so it seemed he was just unloading it all. I missed a ton of car models when I walked up and guy bought all he had of those but I took like 5 shopping bags of other stuff.

$1 - Pokemon: Be a Master board game. I think it is missing one card so I will have to check what it is and try to get the replacement.

$5 - high end airplane diecast replica. I ended up selling it pretty quick for $100 since I have no need to keep that around.

I went by house I bought the Apple II from last year. Just wanted to make sure they didn't find any other software and game after I left. That is probably my single best find at a yardsale ever. For $75 I got an Apple II with mouse, monitor, keyboard, printer, etc. along with all the manuals and some of the boxes along with about 50 complete in the box games (the personal highlight being Maniac Mansion for me).

Probably only a few more weeks left if I want to go out. I'm going to try and find some town-wide sales and go out with a bang if possible. This summer has probably been the worst one I've ever had in my yard sale adventures (even though I've only been doing it for about 7 years)

There was a couple neighborhood association sales today.

I got this Beats Pill 2.0 speaker for just $10....the seller told me it needed to be plugged in and wouldn't hold a charge. I charged it for a hour and the battery has last over 2 hours lol. And I am pretty sure this is not fake too.

TtpSUD9.jpg

Bought a Playstation Pulse Elite headset for $15. It is so damn heavy but sounds pretty good.

Also bought three Dualshock 3 controllers for $10 total. Took them to Gamestop and got $30 in credit!

Today I had one of my best days garage saleing but also the worst. I think this would be better posted in the shopping morality thread but since its garage sale related. This makes me so angry and I apologize if I sound entitled but here we go.

I got up early to go to a garage sale at 8am that was advertising DS games. We get there 5 minutes early and I ask if they had the games they advertised. They are like sure let me go get them. Then in the 10 minutes we're waiting for those games another older guy comes and asks for video games. They bring out their big bin (think the most recent episode of Game Chasers for size and scope comparison), and we ask how much, and my brother and I hesitate (I was going to offer $5 apiece), the mother says "what a dollar or two?" and this older guy says $1.

So my brother and I are in the bin digging around and we both pick out a few games. The second we take our hands out of the bin the guy grabs the rest of the games out and hides them so he can look through them. I see a  DS Kingdom Hearts game and ask him if that had the game in it. He says "That's mine". We ask if he found Pokemon Sun and Moon carts in the boxes of mixed up games. No response. Then I ask if they have anymore Wii games, and the family pulls out some Wii and Gamecube games. I do what this guy did and grab all of them and keep a death grip on them. The guy gives me a death stare. I find a copy of Mario Kart 7 in another game's case. So turnabout being fair play I grab the Mario Kart 7 box and reunite  it with its game. I go home and while I gloat a little, I feel like garbage about this whole experience. I am probably going to go back to the garage sale later today and hand them another $20. That said I did make out pretty well today for $25 we got:

GBA:

Tales game

GC:

Harvest Moon

Chibi Robo

Wii:

Wario Shake it!

Zak and Wiki

DS/3DS:

Pokemon Soul Silver, Black, Rumble Blast and Conquest, Boxes for Pokemon Sun and Moon

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (sealed)

Majora's Mask 3D (sealed)

Smash Bros 3DS

Mario Kart 7

and a 3DS XL that had been stepped on but it turns on.

I had a long response written, but my power went out.

Don't feel bad, you were there first, you asked about games first.

I've had people wrestle the bin away while my hands were in it. That is what got me in the habit of buying everything and embracing my yard sale motto:

Bottle up the hate and save it for your next encounter! lol

You millennials are such wusses. If a guy pisses you off, you punch him in the face. You don't let some guy giving you the Luigi death stare right after he pinched your video games right from under you walk away with an unbroken nose. Sheesh.

Slowdive thank you. I'm a lot calmer now and am not as upset because in hindsight this has been the best year ever for me yard saleing. If that guy got a good deal oh well.

Yu lol

I'm gonna need everybody to start posting pictures again. That's the best part of this topic.

Not a great day game wise, but got some other stuff.
$5 for NES Games
$5 for Need Guns
$8 for Power Banks
$1 for Spongebob Christmas blow up (not shown)

Had by far my best finds of the year this weekend. The stuff in this pic I paid a total of $22 for, which includes SNES Soul Blazer (eBay value ~$70) and the Dark Tower board game, which has nearly all the parts ($150-$200). I went back to the sale with the games after I discovered the Game Boy Player for Gamecube start-up disc was worth ~$60 (paid $2 for it.) Also found Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold Edition for $2 and that's worth another ~$70. Guy is slowly digging stuff out of storage. Called me today to report he found 8 SNES games and I'm going to look at those tomorrow. To be continued...[attachment=28427:IMG_3800.JPG]
