Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.

Just finished 100%'ing Refunct. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Generally not a speedrunner, but sucked it up to get the sub 4-minute speedrun achievement and had quite a bit of fun perfecting it. For the pocket change it cost me on sale, hard to beat the cost/enjoyment ratio on Refunct.

Bing rewards has a hot deal for XBL

1 month -> 4,730 points
3 months -> 10,500 points
12 months -> 20,300 points

Point cost is for tier 2 which you probably are if you have that many points.
Thanks for the update. I was saving up for 12 months and I got to redeem early.

Damn, I just redeemed a year of XBL. Oh Well, get them quick. Remember the other hot deals ran out pretty quick.

[emoji445] Show me the way to go home
I'm tired and I want to go to bed
I had a little drink about an hour ago
And it’s gone right to my head
Wherever I may roam
On land or sea or foam
You can always hear me singing this song
Show me the way to go home.[emoji445][emoji482][emoji482]

At the current bing rewards accumulation rate of 520 points per day for searches only, you should be able to bang out a 1 month game pass (6800 points) every 14 days. Add in the bonus points from those goofy quizzes and auto searches and it's even faster. Plus the points for ms purchases

The 3 month game pass should take 33 days to knock out with searches only. Probably closer to 30 days with extras.

Go to town xbox peeps.

Holy shit that's like a 9k discount on points to redeem for 12 months.Im sure it's a glitch so better submit your redemptions to capitalize on this.

I Don't know why, but I just want to make a pirate crew called "The Search for Poochie" and be the pirate group with the most attitude.

That's how I noticed. My 29k goal disappeared. So I checked to make sure it wasn't removed and that's when I saw the discount.

Although the Bing rewards app has it flagged as a "hot deal" with a yellow banner in the cornet of the image. So I'm sure they intended a discout, but the point pricing could be a glitch.

The math of 520 points a day is flawed because they currently have some bonus points stuff going on.

The 20 points per day with Edge search is newer and may not be around forever, the current 300 points for desktop searches is certainly limited, and the 200 for mobile has only been going on recently and will probably drop back down to 100.

Still, even if you just say it's 250 a day (though it's usually more with the random suggested searches and quizzes and obviously it's more than double that at the moment), you can still earn enough points in a month to never lapse in 1-month Game Pass redemptions (about 27 days of searches) and even more so with the 3-month codes (68 days), assuming they never bring back the longer period codes (which should scale even better), increase the point price, or screw with the basic amount per day.

Enough of my pointlessness. The end message is the same. Why did I do this?

So Rise of the Tomb Raider 20th Anniversary Edition is down to $28 something in the Australian marketplace. What do I need to do to take advantage of the sale, again?

That seems like a lot of work to get this stuff for "free."

It's not. Takes me less than ten minutes a day. Sure, add the time up and it sounds silly, but think about how much you drive or use the bathroom in a day.

Heck, you could knock out the searches while doing one of those things. Just keep your eyes on the road.

Lol. I guess you're right. But ugh bing. Lol

Literally the only thing I use it for is the points. I have Edge on my phone and laptop just for this. I search the alphabet on my phone and then click all the news categories on my laptop. Super easy. Only started doing this sometime last fall and have (guessing) maybe $60-$70 in credit from it, plus almost enough for this year of Live deal, and then I'm gonna save up for the pass.

Probably could have skipped the 6 months for $15 I got through XBL yesterday, but I got a 12 month code from Bing all the same. Cheap Gold is cheap Gold.

Agreed. Since we don't have a given end date for any of the upgrades/bonuses the best option is to grab them while available.

Most things in life require a bit of effort.
Random emails with points in then do show up as well. Quizzes are a norm and sometimes you can have bonus quizzes too. It's just rearrange four answers depending on the question.
Like someone else pointed out, with the Rewards program you can grab points back when you purchase stuff from the store (more with Gold), Win Win!

Just jumped on that Bing 12 month xbl hot deal. Had just over 22k points saved up. Was gonna buy a few things via Amazon, but this is too good to pass up.

Hopefully we get more titles coming to BC and the GWG announcements this week

When should we find out next month’s GwG?
Doesn't matter. They're never going to include the sandwich simulator game.

Hell, we don't even have the indie games sandwich trifecta. We're still missing My Name is Mayo. I guess we can wash down the dry sandwich indie games we do have with Soda Drinker Pro.

So I ordered a 12 month of XBL from Microsoft Rewards yesterday. I got the email but didn't have time to redeem it. Today the email is just gone, and I use an email account solely for Xbox/Rewards/Microsoft stuff, so it didn't go to junk or trash. I go to my Rewards account and the option to resend email is not there, even though the instructions on the order history page say to click Resend to get another email. When I click on the contact Microsoft Rewards Support I get a "Sorry, the page you requested is not available" message. Anyone else seeing these issues?

The real question is will they issue some more challenges for FH3. Almost finished with them, as of now. They have made more in the past.

I know I'm excited for more.

From the Xbox Rewards Program FAQ:

‘In the event this happens, you get nothing, you lose, good day, Sir’.

This may not be the same situation but have you checked your deleted folder? A few weeks ago, I was going through my new emails and when I finished, I noticed all my older emails were gone and somehow ended up in my delete folder. I had to go through my deleted folder to retrieve the emails I wanted to keep.

Something similar happened to me, I contacted them through e-mail and they were able to resend codes.
