How many copies of a game can I trade in?
​You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of a game (per system) within a rolling 30 day period.

What do I need to trade in an older console?​

the console, power cable, av cable, and controller; sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3ds xl trade would be console, charger, stylus. Some have reported being charged refurb fee for a stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)​

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO

ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.
GCU/BB: Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Best Buy
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.

I bought 2 used move controllers and PS camera a couple weeks  back. Will they allow return and rebuy at the prestige store?

In-store? If so, that return period is seven days. They MAY allow it since you're buying them back, but don't be surprised if they don't.

Yeah, I was confused about this for a bit, then I became a seasonal this past Christmas. It's 7 days for a full refund, and 30 days to exchange/replace. I thought it was 30 day for a refund as well. The way they usually phrase it is, "If there's anything wrong with it, you have 30 days to return", which is incredibly misleading, and is almost borderline lying.

Only have 2 Prestige stores within the 15 mile radius.  One guy I called said that you cannot do the B2G1 promotion return/rebuy.  All B2G1 purchases must be done within the same prestige store.  He's probably full of shit.

I got one of those when I upgraded to elite to take advantage of the 60% trade in offer. Mine expires 4/28 so I'm not quite sure what to use it on. Probably something to flip for eshop credit.

 
So is the b2g1 for used games only or are controllers available too? Just got off the phone and was told it's only games

I just got this bullshit at the only prestige store in 50 miles. The manager of the store told me earlier in the week that it was going to be a prestige day and to buy whatever games I want early so I can make sure I have them and do a return rebuy today (which has always been what everyone does anyway). So I go to the store today and the bitch behind the counter flat out denies the returns, stating that it's stealing from the store because they're losing money and everyone would do that if they could. Told her the manager suggested I do it and she said she didn't care and that she wasn't comfortable doing it. I said I could just go ahead and return everything and she said I could but if I did she wouldn't let me rebuy them. Said it's gamestop policy not to allow return rebuys for any promotions. This bitch I swear. Tempted to annihilate her on a survey.

I would have tried to get her to call the manager.

I also would 100% do a survey, specifically mentioning that the manager had suggested the return/rebuy.

There are currently two who have commented on this thread. One works for Gamestop, one does not but still reports findings/people to Gamestop.

One of them is user ACD who conveniently deleted his comments on this thread. The other user who works for Gamestop is an active comment in this thread. Good luck yall

She did call her manager, who told her to go ahead and do it. After she hung up she said again that it's policy not to allow returns for any promotions, but that she would make an exception this one time, BUT only if the games had been purchased from that same store one day earlier. Needless to say this wasn't the case, so she wouldn't do it. I've never seen an employee make up so many fake rules on the fly just to screw a customer out of a deal.
 
9/10 GS in my area don’t even have Mario Kart new. Ninty either going hard on the controlled scarcity or doing real well.

I’d say doing really well, I mean In the 9 months the switch has been out it’s already sold more than the Wii U did in its lifetime, which isn’t much but the switch is also currently the fastest selling console to date

I have the same. Not sure if I should buy a pre-owned Pro Controller, Mario Odyssey and another game, Or if I should just so B2G1 on 3 games and separately spend $75 on the Xenoblade controller. Thoughts?

Burn her on the survey. I was able to do this today with no issue whatsoever. I bought Mario Kart 8 and Mario Odyssey at 2 different stores yesterday and today I returned both and repurchased them along with Breath of the Wild at a third store.

According to an associate at a Prestige Store today, maximum for trading in Switch towards PS4 Pro is $230, which is the same as the $50 bonus, so what's the point of the new promotion if the value is the same as the $50 bonus promotion?

I already have 4 pro controllers, so I don't need another one lol.

MK8 is just really hard to find. Especially if you’re looking for a group of 3.

Most other games (even Odyssey & BOTW, at least for me) have been much better.
 
Fantastic run: b2g1 preowned consoles.
Had to hit up 4 stores to do this, and some return/rebuys:
B2g1: 2 xb1x (1 was project scorpio!!) free ps4 pro which was a star wars battlefront edition 😃😃.
Next set: 2 nintendo switch, free ps4.
Thoroughly pleased.
All the workers were really excellent and helpful with the transaction. They were ok with the return/rebuy to maximize the gains with the promo. Very fortunate to have a few prestige stores nearby. I know ppl bitch about Gamestop, but these b2g1 on all pre-owned products is where Gamestop really shines. Filling out those surveys to initiate or maintain stores’ prestige status is absolutely worth it.

Also: T7 collector’s is on clearance.

Google’s not finding any images featuring Tracy Marrow, Fred Savage, and Siegfried or Roy together.
 
Surprisingly, found a nearby GS with the Last Guardian Collector's Edition for $60. After tradein of the regular copy and $10 cert, it was $35.

It was "new" since they had the statue in one of their display cases, but can't complain too much for the price.
 
What's the deal with the $350 credit toward a PS4 Pro? What are the conditions? I potentially have an Xbox One S and a PS4 Slim to trade.
